how to transfer songs from iPod back to iTune?

Hi,

My computer was spoilt and sent for repair recently. The technician told me that he had to format the computer hard-drive and thus all my data and songs/files are gone.

However, most of my songs are still in my iPod touch but i dont know how to transfer it back to iTune library. I do not wish my songs on ipod to be gone when i plugged in my iPod to my laptop as i paid so much for downloading songs from legal source over the internet.

Anyone knows how to deal with this situation?

by the way, these songs are not back-up to external hard-disc...

i searched through the internet but the answers i found's not very good...

Pros and Cons of iPod Nano, Classic and Touch...

iPod Nano

Pros: All the features of the iPod Classic -including video playback, video output, and games -in a smaller, less expensive, and flash-memory-based player. Bright, clear screen, very good sound quality, excellent battery life, improved user interface, includes three new games

Cons: incompatible with some existing dock-connector accessories, shiny back surface not as rugged as anodized metal or previous version, can't use previously-purchased games, Cover Flow performance limited, new visuals-heavy interface slowed by album art

iPod Classic

Pros: Bring, clear screen, excellent battery life, improved user interface, includes three new games, sounds as good as previous full-sized iPod, attractively priced with good price per GB

Cons: Sluggish interface and unresponsive controls, incompatible with many existing dock-connector accessories, can't use previously purchased games, Cover Flow not terribly helpful.

iPod Touch

Pros: Fantastic multi-touch interface, slim design, scratchproof screen, Safari web browser in your pocket, YouTube access, large screen is video friendly

Cons: Limited hard drive size, screen smudges easily, lack of Flash in Safari, intentionally hobbled functions -such as no Mail application, limited Calendar functionality.

Sources of information: iPod User

I am an user of iPod Touch. I really fall in love with this cool and slim gadget when i first saw it. however, the touch screen is not that fantastic though. Sometimes i just can't key in the alphabet that i want. However, the safari browser is great. the screen is large enough for me and the color is so rich. but one huge disadvantage is that the screen smudges very easily... i guess that's why there is a cleaning cloth together with the purchase of iPod Touch...
