VS industry berhad

I've got a job offer from V.S. in Senai for the position of software engineer. I went to an interview about a week ago and now I've got a job offer waiting for me. Currently I'm working in another company(also in Senai) and I've told them I've got a 1 month's notice before I can join them.

During the interview I forgot to ask about the details of the Job scope and the products they made (messed up eh?). Now if possible I want to gather some info about the work culture, stress level and see if they are worth it.

I know they're a subcon company, so stress is kinda harder, but I' am offered a position in RnD and I'm interested to try it out.

This VS is the one in Taman Perindustrin Murni FYI. I think they make coffee makers...

Should I go for overseas training...

Good day everyone. I am currently employed as an engineer at a certain Japanese electronics MNC for more than a year. As of late I had been approached by various superiors asking if I am interested to go to Japan to undergo a more than a year's training plus Japanese language learning.

Some details about the training:
Allowance provided, plus salary is still paid full during training - so I guess money's covered...
Learn lots of stuff - no complaints here, it's a given...
Bonded for 3 years after going back home- Uh oh.

During my early days I've told myself that I want to go to the training if it's offered. Now, more than a year later, after experiencing the working life here and starting to pay for my own house and whatnot, I'm not so sure. Working there, I do feel that my talents and knowledge are being properly used, it's just that software programming - what I'm currently doing - isn't my preference and I want to go and have more emphasis on embedded designs in my job. Currently I'm updating my resume as I intend to send to other companies, see how lucky I can get. If I change companies, obviously I won't be going for the training.

What do you guys think? Should I go with the training and work for at least another 4 years in the same company, or forgo it, stay back and aim for other companies?

I'm single BTW the house is the biggest commitment I have so far.

Panasonic Network Systems Senai

Hi. I got Interview with PNSM on 6th. The position is for R & D Engineer. In the email the PIC asked me to do research on the position. So far I didn't get much info on the position except on Panasonic itself and the subsidiary.

It says RnD, but didn't specify which kind, electrical or software(I can go either, but prefer software). I called the PIC, she said for my session 8.30 morning) it's for electrical, while software is afternoon.

Does anyone has info on the position and job scope, or the work itself and the working environment?

Should I go to Intel?

I'm a fresh grad currently unemployed. Last time, during my uni time Intel came and I went for the interview. Later I got called saying there is a job vacancy in the company and asked if I'm interested. I declined cuz at that time I'm still bonded to my scholarship. Now that I'm not, last Monday they called again asking if I'm still interested, and I said I did. Sent them my updated CV and I'm still waiting till now. The job offered is graudate trainee.

Problem is, I live in JB, and Penang's quite far away. If I don't go to Intel I can look for jobs in Senai instead, or somewhere arund KL. Intel's kinda like a dream job for me, but I dunno how it's like working there.

Is it worth it to go to Intel for work? Anyone can help me on this?

Trouble playing video and cannot connect SATA HDD

Now I got two problems with me desktop.

1. My comp can't play videos! I dunno why, but it started happening when i went back home from uni early last month. At uni can play as usual, but can't play video at home. Songs (Winamp files) are ok. If I start my comp, the videos all display as winamp files, but cannot open even using winamp. I tried installing codecs, and new players, but all cannot play. When I open the videos using whatever players, only got black screen, although it got sounds, so only cannot display visuals.

And another thing, one time I can play videos. Later turn off computer, and when start again, cannot play again! It's like the whole codecs got reset back to zero ( but I checked the installed players and they're there). Maybe virus or hardware problems, I dunno.

2. I got SATA HDD 80GB. Used to be my bro's old HDD, with C and D, but the C is formatted and the D is still there. I got 4 SATA ports on my mobo, two already connected with other HDDs. The thing is, I can't connect all three SATA HDDs together. I can only connect 2 at a time. I can connect either my bro's HDD with one of my own HDD, but not all three of them. Cables are no problem, I checked already. Choice of SATA port also dont matter - I can connect either from any combination of SATA port 1- 4 (two of them only), although I know u should connect them in order, from 1-2-3...I checked at BIOS already, and it detects the HDD, but at Windows the HDD is not detected, not even on DIsk Management.

The HDD works. Currently hooked up to computer using external case, but so leceh cuz need power supply, and I already have another 3.5" external to use already.
