after salary negotiation, how long would HR normally get back to you to confirm your salary? the company is unable to give me my expected salary but i told the HR i would still accept an amount slightly less than my expected but a bit more than their recommended pay (since the benefits are quite attractive). i've been waiting for nearly 2 weeks and still no news yet.

hypptv without audio

the other day my unifi connection was disconnected so I proceeded to restart the whole thing. the internet connection was back to normal. however I could watch hypptv but without the audio. I think this has something to do with the HDMI input right? how do I fix this? thanks!

unable to access Internet after changing SSID

I'm having trouble accessing the internet after trying to change my unifi SSID and password. currently I'm using netis wireless AC1200 modem router supplied by unifi.

what I did was changing the SSID and password under the easy setup column. wan mode was router HSBB. but after realising there was no connection, I tried again with router SUBB. again, no connection after that. wifi signal on the router keeps blinking. can't even use hypptv after that sigh.

any sifus here that can help me? thanks.

declining an interview

i passed the first interview in a company recently and got invited for a second one. they proposed a few possible dates and asked me if i could make it on either one of them; i said yes. until now i haven't received any news about the actual date of the interview (it's been more than a week).

the thing is, throughout this period of waiting for their call, i've started to lose interest in the position or even the company. i keep thinking about the job scope as explained by the manager in the first session, and i realize that maybe it's not something that i would like to pursue. i'm currently employed, btw.

is it okay to decline the interview offer now, before they get back to me with the interview date?

doubtful about a headhunter's credibility

i received a call from a so-called headhunter who offered me a job at an MNC. he said that he found my resume in jobstreet. the salary offered is higher than what i'm currently earning and the job description sounds pretty interesting. i was told to submit my resume in word/pdf format to the headhunter if i was interested.

however, i'm not too sure if i should trust him. he emailed me using his personal email (gmail), instead of a business email. he said that he was from XYZ Recruitment but when i tried to google the name, i found nothing. will a genuine headhunter use his personal email to contact potential candidates?

Wifi newbie here. Really concerned about security issues when using wifi at home, so just wondering how do I disable the WPS for the modem i'm currently using? I don't see any 'disable WPS' option in the router settings. Is seleecting a 'manual' connection the same as disabling WPS?

the microsoft office starter 2010 was already installed in my laptop when i bought it. problem is i can't open word/excel; a message would pop up at the bottom right saying internet connection lost, so it ends up crashed.

is there a solution to this problem?

chinese characters cannot be displayed

chinese characters appear as 'boxes' after i change my computer name (and then restart). can't type chinese and another funny thing is, i can see the chinese words in the website but not in the browser title. what should i do to correct this problem? my laptop is running on win 7 (previously used vista so still very unfamiliar with win 7).

motherboard problem

i have no idea why all of a sudden, there is a problem with the date and time of my laptop. problem is, even after setting it up once (by pressing f2), the same problem will occur again the next time i switch on my laptop. it's getting annoying coz i have to set the date and time manually before i start windows.

heating problem

does anyone know why my laptop tends to heat so much so easily? i was using it one day and suddenly the fan was spinning so fast and so loudly and when i check the temperature it had rose to about 70-80 celcius

only when i've restarted my laptop did the temperature start to drop.

PC cannot start!

don't know why but my PC refuses to start. the display screen just "freezes" with the windows logo (with the blue background), even after i restart it (by switching off the main power) the same thing happens.

don't know if this has something to do with the fact that i have not used my PC for months after moving into my new house. or is my comp being infected with a virus?
