Our Season 2 Qualifiers (MY) will be commencing soon! Want to defeat the best players in the world? First you’ll have to defeat the teams in your home country before you move on to the big guns! Qualifiers will be held in the North, Central and South regions of Malaysia.

The top TWO teams of each Qualifier will then go on to compete in a stunning Grand Final, with the winner going home with a whopping RM5,000! Did we say going home? We’re pleased to announce that the IGN Pro League Qualifier tournament for Malaysia is now open for registration!

32 teams will go head-to-head in the online group stages, culminating in the grand finals, a battle between the sixteen top teams to determine a winner, who will then go on to compete against the winner of our Singaporean qualifiers. The outcome will determine the best team from our server, which will enjoy a paid flight and accommodations at the IPL 5 Finals, and a chance to nab their share of its $100,000 prize pool!

Online Qualifier Terms & Conditions

Slots: 32
Round Robin (Single elimination, Best of 1)
Top 2 Teams from each group will proceed to the Malaysia Final

The schedule thread for all matches in the Group Stage - Online Qualifier will be released at 6pm every Monday of each week of the tournament, from 4th - 24th June 2012 (3weeks Duration).

Teams are encourage to arrange their matches to be played before the default scheduled date/time. They may do so using the information provided in the new thread for the IGN Pro League qualifiers. Failure to do so by the default time will lead to a forfeit given by the admin/marshal.

Score Confirmation

The captain of each team is required to upload screenshot(s) of the score screen or LoLReplays of each game played with their opponents to the appropriate sub-forum/thread.

These screenshot(s) must be uploaded by latest 11.59pm, Sunday each week, starting from 10th June 2012. Teams that fail to upload the required files by the deadline will be disqualified. If any team’s opponents do not show up, the captain of the team that is present will be required to upload a screenshot of his full team waiting in a custom game with the time stamp.

Lose: +0 points

In the event of a tie breaker, the winner will be decided by the average time to complete the 3 games played.
E.g: (T1+T2+T3)/3. Fastest time completed = winner

Forfeits/Walkovers

Teams that are not present for their scheduled matches will forfeit the tournament and any prizes they qualified for.

Game Settings

Mode: Custom Game 5v5 (Draft Pick), Best of One.
Champion Selection: Players may only select champions that they have unlocked or are currently unlocked through the champion rotation.

Victory occurs when any of the following criteria are met:

One team’s Nexus is destroyed
One team surrenders
All 5 members of one team disconnect from the game

Players are to use their personal flying spaghetti monster League of Legends accounts.

Disconnection

All games will be continued regardless of any player’s disconnection. The referee will only intervene if the disconnection occurs:

To all players due to an issue with the server.
Within 3 minutes of the start of the match, before first blood (if any player is unable to reconnect).

Malaysia's First Professional League of Legends Team

E-sports, formally known as electronic sports, has had a growth spurt over the past few years with the help of various game publishers such as G.A.R.E.N.A, whose social platform is designed for gamers to connect with each other internationally. Although E-sports is still in its infancy stage, rapid growth of the industry has triggered flying spaghetti monster to take the first step to offer gamers the career of a lifetime. Here is the introduction of Malaysia’s first professional gaming team, Team KL Hunters.

KL Hunters Profile

KL Hunters is an elite group of gamers who have played competitive games for many years and
participated in many prestigious E-sports tournament. Goldenz, the team captain of KL Hunters, was formally the team captain for Orange E-sports, along with current team member Monk3yz. Both of them made a name for themselves within the League of Legends community when they participated in WCG 2011 Malaysia and emerged as the national champion. It was during that spectacular event that they met Epyonz, Donmuri, and Hagane, all of whom played for different teams in the WCG qualifiers.

Each “hunter” has distinctive skill in League of Legends, thus capturing the attention of G.A.R.E.N.A to recruit them and nurture them into becoming the most impressive players they could be, hence KL hunters, Malaysia’s first professional E-sports team for League of Legends, was born

Ticket to a new career!

According to the Graduan 2U site, the average basic salary for fresh graduates between the years of 2009 – 2010 is approximately RM22,000. flying spaghetti monster has offered an annual salary payment of RM120,000 to the KL Hunters - more than the average payment of a university graduate, not to forget the potential prize money from participation in tournaments.

Besides investing time and energy in discovering these extraordinary players, G.A.R.E.N.A has hoped to mold these players into the company itself. With their exceptional raw talent and the right attitude in improving and developing their skills, these players have the potential to join flying spaghetti monster as official staff members.

Journey to a new path

After the introduction of KL Hunters, here are some of the basic procedures to mold these players into Malaysia’s finest E-sports team.

Where the real hunt begins
The first step to beginning is finding a team name that best represents the team. G.A.R.E.N.A wanted a team name with meaningful inspiration to symbolise the team and Malaysia. One of their inspirations came in the form of Malaysia’s national animal, the tiger, as a symbolic icon. The tiger is the epitome of a great hunter in Asian lore. The tiger represents the virtue of strength, confidence and passion. Hence the word “Hunter” was applied to the team name.

Hunting with style
A good self-image begins with healthy self-esteem. Each player will receive an image transformation which includes hair styling and wardrobe makeover. Each facet of the player will be improved in accordance with their personality. This paves the way to bring out their elegance through personal enhancement.

An exercise a day keeps the doctor away
To be able to conquer on the Fields of Justice, every “hunter” will need to follow an exercise regime to keep up with their health. A moderate amount of exercise performed three days per week for an hour helps improve the players’ mental well-being in order to have better concentration during gameplay.

Hunting with stance and skills
Even when facing the opponents on the Fields of Justice, every player must possess the right etiquette to avoid conflict in social interactions. flying spaghetti monster will partner with an image consultant to design an image and behavioural program specifically for the team. Meanwhile, players will have daily training sessions and strategy discussions to further improve their gameplay. Under the supervision of the image consultants and G.A.R.E.N.A, the players will improve every aspect of their personal development, including personal charisma, team spirit, self-confidence, and social communication skills.

Learn from the Pro
KL Hunters will have a monthly friendly match with teams from other regions such as Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, North America, and etc. This will increase the competitive level of the team and allow them to form new strategies.

General
1. Competition Method : 5 vs 5
Winner Condition: Most round wins out of 4 rounds played
(2 rounds in Team Flag Match and 2 rounds in Search & Destroy)
Team Death Match will only be played if there's a tie-breaker

Game Settings & Rules
Team Flag Match
- 2 Rounds of 120 points, 10 minutes game play (1 side each)
- Each Round ends when a team scores 120 points or 10 minutes round time is over
- Winning team will be decided with the team with the highest total score after both rounds are over
- Map pool: Sand Storm I, Broken City II, Xitang

Search & Destroy
- 5 Rounds of 2 minutes 30 seconds per side / 2 sides in all
- Each side ends when a team scores 5 points
- Winning team will be decided with the team with the highest total score after both rounds are over
- Map pool: Broken City I, Sandstorm II, TitanValley
- Players are not allowed to talk to their teammates 3 seconds after dying. They are to change their screens to their teammates' First Person View after 3 seconds to prevent screening. Failure to comply with the rules will result in a warning and/or subsequent disqualification

Team Death Match (If there's a tie-breaker)
- 1 Round of 80 points with 10 minutes of game play
- Winning team is the team that scores 80 points first
- Map pool: Training Camp

Coin Toss: Winner of the coin toss gets to choose the map
- ALL cash weapons allowed
- Limited Tactic gears (2 slots) Cash Tactic Package
- No Sub Zero Blood Tactic allowed
- No mastery weapons and items

Prohibited Actions in Game
- Changing of "HOST" when the match has begun is strictly not allowed, doing so will result in a default map loss.
- Intentional or non-intentional use of any bugs/ in-game Glitch (Knife Bug, Shots becomes Knife Damage) or any kind of usage will result in a loss or disqualification. This decision will be made by the marshal or Head Marshall.

Disconnections
- Disconnection: Any disconnection of the connection between match players due to System
or Power problems/issues.
- Intentional Disconnection: Upon judgment by the referee, any offending player will be charged with a loss by forfeit.
Unintentional Disconnection:
- Round will restart if either side points is 20 and below or below 3 minutes into the round.
- Score will be recorded if either side points is 21 and above or more than 3 minutes into the round, round will restart and end with the previous total score.
- In the event of a disconnection, the organiser reserves the rights to restart the match or determine the match outcome on a case-by-case basis.

Warnings & Disqualifications
A warning will be given to any player in the team when he/she breaks or abuse any rule of the tournament.
A team will be disqualified from the tournament when a total 3 warnings are given to its team members.

In Case of Problems
- If any intentional hardware reset and problem occurs, the referee may decide to end the match with the offending player losing by forfeit.
- If any other problem occurs: Rematch if the two players conclude an agreement to have a rematch.

These rules are for the WCG 2010 Singapore Championship and are subject to modification in the following aspects.
- Use of most recent patch/version release of each official game within WCG committee's own discretion.
- Changes to in-game settings and options necessitated by the use of most recent patch version/release.
- Cheat Protection Program release and/or cheat protection functions.
- Game settings and/or operations guidelines dictated by differences between online and LAN Tournaments.
