IPOH 19 Okt. – Seorang pengurus wanita sebuah syarikat telekomunikasi hari ini tampil untuk berkongsi pengalaman nyaris menjadi mangsa sindiket penipuan penyamaran pegawai polis dari Ibu Pejabat Polis Bukit Aman, Isnin lalu.

Dalam kejadian itu, mangsa mendedahkan dia dihubungi seorang lelaki yang memperkenalkan diri sebagai Asisten Supritendan Chang Wei Teck.

Wanita yang hanya ingin dikenali sebagai Tan berusia 47 tahun berkata, dalam perbualan telefon, lelaki itu mendakwa dia dikehendaki oleh polis Hong Kong kerana akaun banknya digunakan untuk transaksi pengubahan wang haram oleh dua lelaki yang ditangkap di negara tersebut.

“Lelaki tersebut bertanya sama ada saya mengenali Yap Chung Hong dan Lam Hong Heng kerana mereka berdua ditangkap di Hong Kong kerana terlibat dalam kegiatan wang haram.

“Dia juga memaklumkan bahawa dua lelaki itu mempunyai akaun bank atas nama saya dan mereka berdua mendakwa saya telah memberikan maklumat untuk membolehkan akaun bank itu dibuka di Hong Kong pada 28 Jun lalu,” katanya pada sidang akhbar di Pusat Khidmat dan Aduan Barisan Nasional (BN) Perak Kawasan Ipoh Barat di sini, hari ini.

Tan berkata, ‘pegawai polis’ itu memaklumkan seramai 28 orang dari Ipoh turut menerima nasib sepertinya apabila identiti mereka disalahgunakan.

“Dia mendakwa membantu Inspektor Lo Keong dari Hong Kong untuk membuat siasatan di Malaysia dan meminta saya menghubungi Lo Keong di talian 0085265292148.

“Saya kemudian diminta menghubungi Lo Keong dengan segera dan dinasihatkan supaya meminta pegawai polis dari Hong Kong itu menghubunginya kerana kos panggilan luar negara amat mahal,” ujarnya.

Tan berkata, dia yang mengesyaki ditipu kerana tidak pernah mempunyai akaun di bank tersebut, memberikan maklumat peribadi kepada sesiapa malah tidak mengenali dua individu dikaitkan dengannya lantas membuat laporan polis pada hari sama.

Sementara itu, Ketua Urus Setia Pusat Khidmat dan Aduan BN Perak, Mohd. Rawi Abdullah berkata, selain kes tersebut, ada dua mangsa yang masing-masing ditipu RM80,000 dan RM30,000 tetapi enggan tampil ke hadapan.

“Sebaik sahaja menghubungi ‘polis Hong Kong’, mangsa yang dalam ketakutan akan menyerahkan segala maklumat berkaitan akaun bank dan kad kredit yang diminta. Dalam tempoh sejam, wang akan dipindah keluar dari akaun bank mangsa,” katanya.

Beliau sehubungan itu, menasihatkan orang ramai tidak melayan sebarang panggilan seumpama itu bagi mengelak menjadi mangsa penipuan.

Semalam, Ketua Polis Perak, Datuk Mohd. Shukri Dahlan memberitahu, sejumlah 55 kes dilaporkan di Perak melibatkan kerugian sejumlah RM935,984 membabitkan sindiket penyamaran sebagai pegawai Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) atau polis dari Ibu Pejabat Polis Bukit Aman.

Beliau berkata, kegiatan itu yang dipercayai didalangi sindiket antarabangsa berpangkalan di Macau, menggunakan satu perisian khas yang dikenali sebagai ‘spoofing’ bagi membolehkan nombor telefon sebenar BNM dan polis Bukit Aman tertera dalam panggilan yang dibuat ke telefon bimbit mangsa.

Branded goods buy at Europe

Hi all travellers.

I would like to ask let's say we buy those branded item (gucci, burberry, lv, prada or any others)from Europe and bring back to Malaysia. Do we kena custom duty ? Or any tax on the goods we bringing in?

Any restriction on amount of goods we can bring in?

I tried google about it, but more is on postage on goods rather than we bring in ourself

( if this post have been posted , please provide me with the link)

New notes for CNY?

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians have been assured that there are sufficient RM5 and RM10 notes in the market for Chinese New Year.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said that so far there had been no complaints about any shortage of these notes.

“These notes may be in high demand especially when Chinese New Year is approaching but it is not true that there is a shortage.

“Bank Negara is monitoring the situation and will ensure that there is sufficient amount of the notes circulating in the market,” he said at a press conference after attending Sports Toto Chinese New Year ang pow donation campaign here yesterday.

Lim also denied talk that the production of these notes would be halted this year.

He urged consumers facing problems obtaining new RM5 and RM10 notes at banks to lodge an official complaint with the ministry.

“However, they must also bear in mind that they cannot expect to exchange a huge sum of money as these financial institutions must limit the amount allowed,” he said.

On another matter, Lim said employees must be given the freedom to choose their jobs and workplaces.

“The ban is uncalled for,” said Lim, who is also MCA vice-president and Selangor MCA chief.

He was asked to comment on Subang Jaya Municipal Council’s guideline that Muslims be banned from working at entertainment outlets which sell liquor.

Hi all,

I would like to know if a car is badly damage by accident or ownself doing, what would you do. If scrap ,where to scrap?

for the situation now is that the cost of repairing is intense and it would be able to get a new 2nd hand car with that price.

I have no idea what to do with it if wan scrap I also duno where to scrap.( scrapper around PJ if anyone can recommend )

Hi to all lowyat members,

I would like to ask your all opinion on how you will deal with this situation.

The story goes like this, I have a friend that now considering study back but there
are a few limitation

1.SPM didn pass
2. went for SKM but until Lvl 2..at Automotif
( now he think that servicing car may not be a good prospects of work)

So what route should he choose?

as he currently working at manufacturing company which gives him a not very nice income
so he considering of study back..

but now he duno what to study and what is his own interest...

If there are any nice company that can provide training and able to work for long time employment which give a good prospects of job, please kindly state..

I Sell 2 Gb Pendrive to Navigator(R) for RM25( so i ask him to bank in my account ), on the same time , he selling something to KenLee for RM30 .

so , Navigator(R) ask KenLee to bank in my account. After KenLee bank in RM30, then i bank in Navigator(R) for RM5 in return.( I have send the 2Gb pendrive to Navigator(R) But now KenLee did not get his item. So, will my bank account become blacklisted? as KenLee did not have Navigator(R) bank account.

Should I take responsibility on this matter?
