Phone dropped

I have a N82 for 3 months.

On the first week I bought it, I dropped my phone. Since then, I noticed I get "Connection Error" when I call out. I get disconnected when I talk. Sometimes I get no signal even though I am at home (I live in Subang and before I upgrade my phone, I always had FULL signal at home).

It never occured to me that it is because I dropped it, so it becomes like that until my friend bought a N82 and her's work better than mine. Then I suspect, maybe is because I dropped it.

I had wanted to bring to Nokia / Zitron to warranty my phone. The cover was perfect without scratch, so maybe I can still claim my warranty. Today, I dropped my phone again at the porch outside my office, it got scratches badly. The behaviour of the phone remained the same. I really want to warranty now but the scratch is so bad Nokia Customer Service might not accept.

Please advise.

1. Drop phone, can warranty?
2. Change case only warranty can?
3. Change case = warranty void?

VB or C#?

Hi,

I am interested in picking up a programming language and this time, I intend to be proficient with it for a long time. I had experience a long time ago with Pascal, Foxpro and VB6, then I did Java for a while and stopped. Now, I am considering VB or C# for Windows Development, not C++ cause its too far fetched for me at this moment.

What's a good programming language to pick now? I'm limiting myself to C# and VB because I want to try out the Visual Studio Express Edition 2008 which is FREE! I know VB has been in the market for very long and if I were to develop business application, VB is recommended. However, C# is the new and uprising programming language. Many people kept telling me that C# is Microsoft's own "Java" but I'm not sure why is that so.

The system I am trying to create (may take months to years but doesnt matter) includes data entry, data processing, printing, recording and retrieving records to database, and lastly simple accounting. I believe Windows Development is my first choice now before I diversify to Web. Which would be better? C#? or VB?

To be honest, I am leaning more towards VB because this is my part time "hobby" but at work, sometimes, we are also required to write VBScript for certain functions.

For example:
1. cscript scriptname.vbs to retrieve all the user objects from Active Directory in the Users OU,
2. cscript scriptname.vbs to automatically check user rights and security settings on user folder in a certain hard drive.

If my question has been asked too many times, please do not scold me. As you can see, I am a new joiner from not too long ago and I will really appreciate if someone / anyone can give me some feedback and point me in the right direction.

Thank you.

Cheers,
WiNdGa|

Romantic Proposal

I am helping a friend of mine who shared a fantastic idea with me as a wedding proposal. My friend is 29, intending to propose to his girlfriend who is 27 within the next two months. His idea is spontaneous. What he intends to do is:

Before: Courier clothes over or just buy there. One week clothes if dont go for branded is cheap in Aus.
1. Speak to the girl parents about it and ask for her passport
2. Speak to the girl company and apply a week leave from her boss (he knows the company boss quite well)
3. Spontenously ask a friend to drive them to airport, saying have dinner there.
4. Once dropped, friends drive off. They walk inside.
5. They will board the plan to Gold Coast, Australia without luggage but only with passport and tickets
6. Once at Australia, he will propose to her.
After: Accomodation is the boy's sister home in Gold Coast.

Foreseen response includes:
ARE YOU CRAZY?!
I HAVENT TAKE LEAVE!
MY PARENTS DONT KNOW!
WHERE ARE WE GOING?
OH MY GOD, YOU ARE CRAZY!
the list goes on... etc.

Now the unforeseen problem, Australia VISA. If he apply on behalf of her, would that work? If he bring her to apply, then the element of surprise is dead. Anyone can share any idea to overcome this obstacles?

Editted with more information.

Proposal Ring and Wedding Band

Hihi, been busy so havent been posting a lot in here. I am asking this for a friend who plans to propose to his girlfriend in the coming weeks.

To my understanding, the diamond ring will be the proposal ring used when the guy kneels down and propose to the girl. The wedding band is what you wear after you get married. Now, here's my question - how would you buy a diamond ring?

1. Would you bring your girlfriend to the goldsmith and ask her to choose?
2. Would you choose and buy a ring yourself without her knowledge

If your answer to the question above is 1. you brought her to the goldsmith and ask her to choose,
1. That will kill the suspense
2. There wont be any more surprise
3. She is already expecting it
4. She knows

If your answer to the question above is 2. you bought the ring yourself to give her a surprise proposal
1. What if size is wrong?
2. What if she dont like the design?

How many goldsmith allows exchange? Once you propose, she accept it but she dont like the design, go back to exchange - can?

Please discuss.

Birth Control Pills

I know many couples like to make love without condoms. I juz want to ask if girls here are taking birth control pills?? Many people would say that birth control pills will cause pregnancy problem later in life but my gyne told me that if I have active sex life, I should take it. She also advised me that when we want baby, we should stop taking it for 2 - 3 months, to clear off our system, before proceeding to make babies.

I have taken birth control pills for a while because my bf like it. I juz want to know if others are taking it too because juz now when I think of marrying my boy-boy, I scared I cannot pregnant with his babies in the future...
