Problem Poslaju small electronics overseas

Hi all,

I recently needed to send a small electronic item back to China for repair (it’s a small portable headphone amplifier, FiiO e12, about the size of an iPhone, with an internal battery, probably around 1000mAH capacity).

I was told at the Poslaju/POS Malaysia counter that it is now prohibited to send ‘batteries’ oversea and they rejected the delivery.

I was wondering if there are any cheap alternatives to still do this? Is this rule only specific to POS Malaysia or is it a blanket one that applies across all couriers companies? I was told to separate the battery from the device but unfortunately it’s not possible in this case because i think both are integrated.

Secondly and hypothetically, what will happen if I just pack the item into a sealed packaging myself without any mention of batteries - will they still discover it later on during shipping, perhaps due to some scans or checks? Not to say I’d want to break safety laws but just wondering to what extent are these rules enforced.

Where can I find expired architectural models?

Hi guys,

I am an architect slash part-time artist, recently I had an idea for a piece that that would involve the usage of architectural models.

I know it might not be straightforward, but can anyone point me to the right directions at how to acquire some of these architectural models that have been used in property roadshows and sales events? Does anyone know what is the lifecycle of these models post-sales?
Expired or discarded models are great for this purpose. The lower it costs, the more ideal.
Any hints or tips on how to approach the developers involved, or their marketing departments, might come in useful too! Perhaps a reason to collaborate on an artwork that will be have presence on social media?

Looking for someone to scan photographs

I'm looking to have a bunch of old family photographs digitalised, and would like someone to help scan these photographs.

There are about 1,000 B6-sized photographs arranged in album booklets, and one would have to remove/return the photographs to and from the album for the scan. These could be done with a home desktop scanner.
I am offering RM200 for this job, and preferable timeframe to complete this is a week, though this is really not set in stone.

A good, cheap but powerful introduction into the headphone game, and especially suitable for bassheads. Works perfectly stock, but use this with an amp and it will be like having subwoofer in your ears.

Earpads 'modded' with cable inserts to increase distance between drivers and ear, resulting in better comfort, tighter bass, wider soundstage.

Item condition is used, perfect functioning order. Cosmetics wise, some wear on the headband, but otherwise still snappy.

Comes with pleather carrying case, two gold-plated audio cables - one regular and one coiled.

Hello all, I need someone to MANUALLY trace a scanned graphic pattern, with AutoCAD.

1. I already tried automatic methods such as Adobe Illustrator Live Trace, it's not sufficient quality for me. I need this to do 3D modelling later on.

2. I have specific instructions on how to trace this, plus an example file of what I did myself. So you just have to follow the guidelines.

3. Basically, you cannot use SPLINE command, only ARC command. I will explain it below.

4. Deadline is by 23 February if possible. If not, please discuss with me.

5. Show me progress work when you first start tracing, if OK, continue to finish the whole thing.
