Can i replace lost driving license on weekends?

Dear people,

Fist off, happy new year to everyone!!

I lost my driving license a month ago and had no time to think about replacing it since i literally have no time since it's not very possible to take leave in my company,at that moment, until post April i think. Also, since i'm a newbie i didn't wanna take a half day leave just so I can replace a lost driving licnese, doesn't seem professional to lose something important haha. Managed to lodge a police report on this though.

My friend told me that driving school provides service to ppl who have lost their license, not sure how true is this cause i always thought you have to do your replacement yourself. I called up some ppl from driving school and some told me that the JPJ at wangsa maju genting klang opens on sunday, some told me not open on weekends, some say driving school cannot replace for us...........

So...would anyone kind enough to confirm with me,whether if i can ask the driving school to replace for me,and how true is it on JPJ's weekend operation hour.

Thanks for reading!

The Big4 audit firm screening process

Hi,

Bored by the same old topic i believe. I don't know if i'm just here just to vent my feelings of difficulty in securing a position in big4 or I just want an answer out here. I've recently got my degree(2nd upper, sadly T_T) and awaiting for my ACCA final results. My peers have applied to the big firms but they got only 1 firm calling each of them and no news ever since. I've also heard some of the top scorers not being able to pass the interview process, from what I believe is that some of them do not speak good English and that's why they did not fit the requirements of good communication and interpersonal skills of being an auditor of big4.

After crapping much up there, my concern is not being able to be selected for interview as my academic results are not impressive, although not to say very poor. I've once failed accounting paper(in my opinion it's fatal in the eyes of employer T___T) and the others did not achieve that high of marks either,so i guess it's not convincing at all in terms of paper qualification.

So i'm asking if anyone can give me tips in being getting selected for interview,in terms of the big4 interview? Putting aside the factor of submitting a well written cover letter and resume. My dream is to get into PWC(well ,who doesn't) but i know myself well that i can't be just dreaming and especially at this current employment situation,we don't really get to choose do we. I really wish to work with the top as I believe i'm not that smart a person but i'm very hardworking and focused in getting jobs done, plus i'm very much a person willing to share, though nothing at all like the great Mother Theresa...

Anyway, there goes my rant...and i lack one of the requirement of being a PWC auditor too–self confidence

Thanks for reading!!!

[WTA] Direction from 1utama to Mid valley

Hi there,

I'd normally take public transport to go there as i'm the typical no-sense-of-direction person. But I really wanna go there driving by myself one day.
I know how to enter the federal highway from LDP,which is under the penang bridge. However, federal highway looks very scary to me as there are a lot of turnings and maybe flyovers....so i might need details on this.

So here are my questions:
1)How do i get to Mid Valley after entering Federal Highway?
2)How do i get back to LDP(actually i stay in 1utama/Taman Tun area) coming out from Mid Valley?

I know there might not be good response since why waste time on a stranger hah.........but anyway i'm willing to wait for kind souls

Thanks for reading though!

Simple question on the requirement of entry 2 Big4

Hi there,

some background info of myself, i'm a full time student studying ACCA and i've been self-indulged and hoping to sail through ACCA and finally graduates in June 2009. My results for previous sitting is out and out of the 3 papers i took(P1,P2 and P3) i failed P2 Corporate Reporting. I'm not so surprised by this(with this tidak-apa attitude of mine sitting for professional papers -___-) as i figured i was never good with numbers and accounting but still it has some impact on a spoiled brat like me.Ok i know i'm not supposed to be here pouring my feelings around.....sorry~

Anyway,my goal is to graduate this June.As i'm taking the remaining 2 optional papers,i can just slot it the P2 into my exam schedule. And of course, hopefully i can pass all 3 this time around. My fear began to develop as i read in some forum that big4 will never take you in as long as you failed any accounting papers. OMG!!! I dream to work in big 4 and this thing is happening to me......well big 4 or not is actually no big deal to me,i'm all crazy to hope to get into big 4 is because that's also part of my mum's dream and i'm having this thought cause i really wanna turnaround my family's financial position. So,i just want a bright career path that's it......Come to think of it,working on part time jobs have been contributed to mistakes in time management. Well,a lesson learned,a lesson learned,i should quite whining and start study!

Yes, i know, many of you might say "academic results are not everything as no one wanna hire u if u do not have the right attitude and communication skills, get real! ". I personally believe that i won't complain if i were required to work from 8am to 2am(or,till 8am the next day ) and in some way i lack of confidence, but not self-esteem so i always give way to others and hardly generate conflicts. Well at least that's what i believe. But the problem is,the interviewer won't know these good points of your till you are hired and their first impression of yours must be communication skills, dressing and academic results. I'm not sure how the failed-ACCA's-accounting-paper qualification adversely affects my application for job ....

Not trying to be negative and sound pitiful but yes i consider myself ignorant.

Is anyone kind enough to give me some advice on this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, i'm of 168cm and weight 52 kg before i control my weight and exercise.Meaning, before this i just eat whatever i want and i don't exercise at all. I'm now doing all this is to achieve a flat tummy.

Morning :
1. 2 eggs or oats
2. 3 chicken frankfurter

Afternoon:
Chicken rice in college

Night :
Meat ,veges for dinner, avoiding carb intake

Before sleep:
Oats with chocolate drink(i know chocolate drink is a bit wrong but my mum buys chocolate drink and she thinks milk is a little pricey and since i don't really grow much fat so i'll just go along with it)

One of my main concern here is regarding the chicken frankfurter. It's a processed food, and it's tasty so i suppose it'd be lots of cholesterol in it.I'm taking frankfurters as they are easy and fast to cook before i run to college.

And i don't have much choices since i really need to look on my expenses...what a shame~

Thanks for reading!!

Resetting modem automatically

Hi there,

Once i was frustrated being not able to log in MSN,hotmail, grmail and the youtube just won't load. After that someone told me if your ip starts with 60.53 that's the problem you are getting so you've gotta reset the model until your ip add shows other thatn60.53.That solved my problem.

But the thing is everytime i shut down the computer and when i connect to internet my ip add shows 60.53 again and i've gotta reset it again. It's becoming annoying as i've gotta reset it a few times to get to ip add other than 60.53 .Being lazy to reset the model is another thing, but i'm afraid of poking the reset button too frequent will kinda damage my modem.

So anyone out there,i'm wondering what method do you guys use to make your ip add to stay away from returning back to 60.53?

Any suggestion is very much appreciated.Otherwise, thanks for reading .

Hi there i posted the same topic over the fitness area but since there are mostly guys over there i guess posting here would get more appropriate answers since this is the " girls club".

I never really spend time to work out or exercise, diet or do anything to make myself look fit cause i'm never fat. However i'm not the skinny type either,i'll still become fat if i overeat. So,like many other girls,if i don't look fat outside meaning all the fats are stored in my tummy.

Due to the recent part time job i'm working(which i need to show my skin quite a lot) i started to make myself sweat. My belly has significantly become tighter and smaller in a weeks time, but still it looks really uneven.I hope someone can give me some tips on how to get a belly like those japanese girls.Their belly look so flat, and the part below their flesh doesn't show any bones like mine. When i strecth, ughh the bones are showing.

Also another thing that i'm concerned over here is that i think my legs are growing bigger, probably muscles forming. What i do to sweat is by jog on the spot for 30 minutes and around 30 sit ups.I just don't want any muscles......T_T

Anyway thanks for reading!!

[WTA]How to go to Kuchai Lama from 1utama or Sunwa

Hi there,i have to attend a rehersal at Kuhcai Lama's Yoga Zone on Saturday and i'm currently residing near 1utama .I know only the routes to nearby places or Sunway College, which is the place where i'm studying,i really am hopeless when comes to direction and i'm always lost or get down to ask ppl for directions every 2 to 3 km.

Yes,here i am asking if anybody is free enough to guide me a little...preferably from Sunway,or from 1utama whichever is easier.I think the place is near to Taman Desa if i'm not wrong(either way i don't know where it is).

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!!!

Enquiry from short-term air stewardess wanna-be

Hi everyone,

Came across some related topics and i've read some, bugged some of those whom I believed are related to this field(My thousand apologies ) and I hope you can answer some of my questions.

FYI,I'm a 20 year old Chinese who's currently studying ACCA full time(a professional accounting course in case you don't know) and i'm interested in becoming a flight attendant for a short period, maybe 1 or 2 years to get experience. And i'll back to my studies then. However ,some Airlines make the minimum requirement age as 21,which would be also good for me since i'm completing ACCA at the age of 21.

Yes,i'm not entirely serious about this whole thing as i've already planned my future career path as an accountant and to have a 8am to 2am(seriously!) job .But currently i'm having financial constraint is true, and the fact that i have this great dream of travel is also one point.Another thing is also that i worked part time in service industry(restaurants) as a part time job till last year and i'm very comfortable with serving people, though i know the fact that air hostess and waitress is a complete different thing! I think the main reason that drives me is still the fact that I know very well I have basically no life if I come out to work as an auditor at the age of 21 and this will continue till my retirement and that I really wish I can see the world, open my eyes, meet ppl from all walks of life before I jump to the hectic working life. Also,to take this as a working experience. And ummm....."It's not about free traveling, meeting up with new faces without hard work and some skeletons inside the closets, brat!!" - This one I understand, when come to work,no main-main la.

Basically I don't know how to ask any questions since i don't know from where i should start with.I would really like to join Emirates and they'll come to Malaysia to recruit but I guess I'll have to wait for another year.Still I don't think I can even pass the 1st round just because I wanna work temporarily....Can someone advise on this?

Also, need some insight information on some airlines you guys recommend to work with.Salary wise, working environment,benefits....I still find Emirates the most attractive to me by far.

My friend who main-main interview for singapore airlines inspired me.Though they say they'll be serious for the coming May's interview at Nikko Hotel(I doubt! ).Wanted to try it out but i've asked a person who's working with SIA and according to him, with the 6 mths training and the minimum 2 years working contract,i don't think I can afford it,a bit too long for me.

Again, before anyone wanna flam me for I have this main-main attitude,I would like to stress again that I'm interested in becoming one based on the fact that I meet the physical requirements(doesn't look like Jessica Alba though!),am able to work(this is a subjective statement but I can tell you i'm quite a lonely person and therefore i'm a workaholic, how many ppl actually admit that, geez!) but since I've already set my goal and future career path I'll just work for 1 year or 2 and when I work,i'll be serious in my work and I'll resign when it's time to do that. But still ,even I myself know that I'm a bit naive since I just wanna work for short period.Still can do,right? Haha...Feel free to correct my childishness.

Mmmm....yah,opinion,suggestion,recommendation are all that I need.Feedbacks are very much appreciated.

Thank you for reading such a long post!

BUMP feature not working for me

Hi there,

I've just started a thread in "Stuff For Ladies" and i have tried to used the BUMP feature the next day and when i clicked on it i've got an error message saying "you can only bump this thread tomorrow" and i tried it another time yesterday and i've got the same message and i've tried it again 10 minutes ago i've got the same error message again.

1.I'm wondering why i can't use the bump feature or am i not using it correctly?

2.Another question is,i've accidently clicked on the Options of the topic,to receive email notifications whenever there's a new topic on that section. How do i disable that?

Thanks for reading!!

[WTA]Posting shampoo and conditioner

I've gone through the whole pinned thread about the postage in this section but i still have doubts on the postage.I might need some experience people to guide me on this.

Normally the forumers are selling not-so-bulky items whereas i'm selling shampoo, and conditioner ,each weight 0.55kg(550ml each).Normally the customer who needs me to do postage will buy 1 or 2 bottles from me.I don't expect a high postage rate for 1 bottle but i don't know about 2 bottles. The wrapping plus the 2 bottles are quite an amount already.

In the pin thread, some items >1kg can cost from RM8 to RM18.And i'm really not sure about this already.By the way,i haven't dropped by and enquire the pos laju's staff properly yet.I did drop by but they are almost closing and they look at me like i'm some stupid girl when i approach them regarding on this.

A few questions that i hoped it can be answered:
1. For a normal shampoo size,do you think pos laju will charge me by weight or volume?
2.For 2 bottles of shampoo, what's the recommended wrapping to be?Is it sufficient just to wrap it by lots and lots of newspaper sellotape to make sure the items won't move?
3.According to your experience, would you please estimate how much the charges is for a bottle of shampoo as well as the rate for 2 bottles.

Thanks a lot!!

For CIMB and Maybank?

I think Maybank has but not sure how to check online, mind sharing?

Thanks a lot!
