inactive sim

need help here

i'm using samsung phone, and now the phone got some problem, the screen disappear when I slide it. since it is an old phone, i decided its time to buy a new one

so i took out the sim card, put on my back up phone, sony k850i, and it showed inactive sim. when i used on another sony phone, similar message appear.

but when put back on the samsung phone, it worked normally, ie can call in or out.. no such thing as inactive sim. but, when i put simcard into another sony phone, again, same problem. inactive sim.

called celcom careline, and the celcom person said, cannot be the simcard malfunction, since it can still be used on samsung phone

what is the real problem? is it bcoz the sim was so accustomed to the samsung phone, so it 'refused to be used' on sony phone?? so puzzled here . BTW, i planned to go to celcom centre tmrw to get a new card.. hopefully it worked.

just asking here,just in case some1 else have encountered similar problem. tried search the prev topics, but none similar
