Home theater as computer speaker?

Currently using Klipsch GMX-A 2.1, potentiometer aging and cracking noise while adjust volume.

Thinking to switch from computer speaker to home theater.

For now my ideal model is LG DH6340H, can I know what's the disadvantage of using home theater with computer?
Few points that might be concern:
- My distance with speaker is around 50cm only.
- Will using front speaker only setup as 2.1, or center speaker should enable also?

Not sure whether there is any user using home theater with their computer in here?

Klipsch GMX 2.1 problem-need help from other owner

I just get a new Klipsch GMX on yesterday.
1. But i find out on low volume(less than 9 o'clock direction), the left satellite have lower sound or almost no.
2. The volume also have little different while i turn the main volume at mid.

I have test with few ways but it still remain the same, i switch the satellite speaker, wire.

I want to ask is it normal for a new GMX(some problem will solve itself by time of some product), or my GMX have problem?
