What I want to do is to be able to use it to get grab taxi as well as order food services delivery.

New Version Of Windows Operating System

Does anyone have any news regarding this new version?

Faced With Triple Whammies

The first whammy is when our dream GE 14 victory turned to nightmare within a year and we are now faced with a teetering government.
The second one is the Covid19 virus which depleted our fortunes (if any) and sinks our hopes even further.
Now, we will be facing our third whammy very soon, one which we have been forced to face for more than two decades with devastating effects on both our health and our wealth.
And that is the haze!
As the Chinese saying goes: Even the gold in our hands can turn to brass!!!
What a jinxed life are we having?

Old Folks' Home

As we all well know, the population of this country is ageing and by this year it is projected to reach more than 3 million.
Unlike the practice of yesteryear when most elderly folks would likely age at home and spent their last years at home, the trend nowadays is for them to be sent to old folks' homes.
There are a number of reasons for this.
One of them being that all abled body folks at home will have to work to support the family resulting in the elderly being left alone at home with no one to care for them.
Another reason is that many Malaysians are living alone and it is a growing trend. I understand that they usually depend on friends/relatives to assist them in their daily living. But the day will come when they will need care on a 24/7 basis and they may be forced to move to an elderly care home.
I have seen some YouTube videos about elderly abuse at old folk's homes even in 1st world countries like the US and Australia.
This sets me thinking about the quality of such homes in our country.
I hope that anyone with knowledge/experience about the quality of care in our local old folks' home will
enlighten us on this matter.

Haze

It seems that the haze season for this year is behind us.
In our country, it will last for about two months - August to September.
We have been tolerating this apocalyptic situation for more than twenty years!!
How we can do so is anybody's guess!
During those two months, we should be having bright sunshine and fine weather and should be out enjoying such bounty from nature.
But no, our governments keep reminding us to keep our windows and doors closed in order to keep out the haze!!
Schools were closed and doctors were having more patients.
On top of that, we were told that the cheap surgical masks that we used to prevent our lungs from being infiltrated by the haze is useless against the haze, especially the PM2.5 type.
We were advised by our "caring" government to use the N95 mask since this is effective against the haze.
But each of this cost RM5.50 at the pharmacy and can be used only once!
Let's say that we want to economise and use each one for the whole day.
So, for 60 days, it will come to RM330!
Who is going to pay for this?
Most people would rather do without such expensive protection brought on them through the fault of others and risk their health and even death!
And horror of horrors, their second term president deems fit to reappoint the same DOE Minister to the same post!!!
She is famous/infamous for blaming Malaysian plantation owners in Indonesia for the haze.
As if Malaysian companies can break the law with impunity!!!
As far as prosecuting offenders is concerned, cases
prosecuted a few years back are still dragging on!
With regard to solving this "curse" the three most affected countries, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore are taking a very lackadaisical attitude.
Of course, they do meet to discuss things but they are very loathe to press for a final solution to this vexing problem because that will mean stepping on someone's toes!
So, where does that leave us?

Active, Mischievous 2 Year-old Infant Boy

I am looking after an active, mischievous 2 year-old infant boy on my own.
He is at an exploratory stage of his infancy and like to put everything he picked up inside his mouth and play with anything he can get his hands on.
Besides that he is tall enough to reach the door handle of all the rooms, including the bath rooms as well as the cabinets.
As a lot of the items around can harm him, what is the best way to prevent him from doing so.
By the way, the normal playpen cannot hold him as he can easily climb out of it.

Problems With Booting Desktop PC

I frequently get the following error message when booting my pc:

I get the above error message almost every time I boot up my computer although I have not changed anything in my computer for a long time.
I have Googled many times on the Internet but still can't find any solution.
I hope someone can solve this puzzle as it is frustrating to have to press F1 to run the setup so very often.

I am thinking of buying a humidifier for home use.
But before buying, I would like to obtain the views of users of humidifiers, especially long time users, regarding their experience with such devices,
I understand that long term use of such devices can lead to the growth of mold and fungi on the walls and curtains of the room where it is placed.

I have received the following message purportedly from them to recover the BIOS setting:

I have received the above message three times and it sounded like double Greek to me so, each time I just switched of the computer and the message was gone.
It could even be a malicious message.
Has anyone from this forum received a similar message and know what all it is about?

In Bolehland, we have to pay RM30 yearly for our driving licence in perpetuity.
In Singapore, they don't have to do so; once you have your driving licence, it's for keeps. If I am not mistaken, this was the system during colonial times.
So, why is our government milking us in any which way they can?
Perhaps it's time to stop this exploitation.

I would like to update the drivers of my computer devices automatically.
The method of doing so is given in one of Microsoft's instruction manual but I am unable to find where the "name of your computer" is located in the Devices and Printers screen.
Reproduced below is the instruction given by Microsoft (last paragraph of the instruction):

You can check Windows Update at any time to see if it find new drivers and icons for your hardware, especially if you recently installed a new device. If you want to have Windows Update automatically check for the latest drivers and icons, here's how:

Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.

Right-click the name of your computer, and then click Device installation settings. - End of quote

Unifi

At the moment, I am having Streamyx as my ISP.
And the condo where I am staying has provision for Unifi connection although the connection is by copper wire and not fiber optics.
I have one fixed for Streamyx and it is connected to a modem, a fax machine and a cordless phone.
When I switch to Unifi, can I still have the same configuration?
Also, the phone wires in the condo are concealed.
With the switch to Unifi, would additional wires be necessary?
