Help, hp mini, hang in bios

my friend has a HP mini.. everything was running normal.. one day, the problem comes : Sometimes it boot to windows and sometimes it doesn't.
Finally, it never make it to windows, so i decided to help him reformat for him.

As i turn the laptop on, (f12=boot menu, f10=bios or whatever the key is)
So i push the key for boot menu... then nothing happened, it just stucked at the bios screen, so i tried to restart(ctr+alt+del), still nothing happened. so i turned power button until off. i tried again for bios...

So i thought of reset the bios by taking off the cmos, unlickily, the screw isn't the normal philips type and i have no idea where to find that type of screw driver.

but basically, I can't do anything as i couldnt even enter the BIOS no reset the bios.. does anyone knows what the problem is? or how to solve it? or anyone has any experience with it?

Hi Everyone,
I'm Thinking of upgrading my PC. I'm thinking of upgrading my mobo, proc, and ram.
I don't mind whether its AMD or Intel.
The most important thing is stability. I hate stability issues.

This is what i always do with my PC:
- Gaming, serious games, internet games
- on 24 hours, no shut down so it must be STABLE
- I dont want to OC.

So as per title, Any suggestions for what PROCESSOR, MOBO, and RAM should i get with RM1.5-2k?

I would be very thankful for any explanations.

Hi everyone, want to ask ur oppinion about the problem i'm facing.
I've just bought a brand new AP set SE xperia mini pro... i connect to internet using wifi.
It's just surfing so slow.. even loads facebook using the mobile app also slow.
but the wifi is ok.
i'm using streamyx 1mbps

So, is there any solution for this problem?

I know how a special tool is and what the function would be but i can't really get the definition of SPECIAL TOOL

2months ago.. I was using AMD x2 4000+...

i was quite satisfied with it as it can respond fast...

Now I've upgraded to intel based system Q9650(OEM).. and i saved money for a long time for it... u can see the details at my sigg

My first impression is this system is suppose to run damn faster than my AMD old system..

but it wasn't.... it load some things slower than my AMD...

What i tested is
i run more than 10movies in the same time and it didn't stuck (quite happy though)
I run CS source and it didnt stuck too.. (while playing those movies)
I've tested the 3DMark06 too and for the CPU test i only got approximately 1 FPS...

and that made me quite frust...

I really can feel that my P4 3.2GHz and AMD x2 4000+ performs slightly better in responding... but not in processing

even when installing office 2007 and CS together also a bit lag..

can anyone tell me if there is anything that i didnt optimized yet...

or if there is anything that can make my rig feel much2 better....

i'm using XP

or issit because its an OEM??

i have a mobo Gigabyte EP45-UD3L and Intel Q9450(2.66GHz) and using 1066MHz corsair dominator

the problem is the multiplier is supposed to be 8 to achieve 2.66GHz but after i manually set the multiplier to 8 and disable all the energy saving features that can downclock the processor which is C1E and EIST function...

the problem still exist... so the thing is i wonder...issit the processor or the motherboard that is the problem??

and yesterday.. my PC keep on giving blue screen while loading windows ... dont know what issit but my friend told me to disassemble and keep my mobo, ram, proc, HSF in an antistatic bag for couple minutes then assemble back carefully to avoid static from hands...

and today.. it didnt showed blue scsreen but the clock is still 2.0 GHz no matter how i stress it..

even when i play Counter-Strike source it lags... i dont think its about the mobo and ram..

but dont know lah... need opinion...

my friend wanted to use 3 LCD with different displays but using a single CPU... how issit possible??

XP loads too long

my PC startup about a minute just on the windows XP loading screen i mean about 30 times of the loading XP thingy at the loading page with the XP logo... but that didnt happen before when i was using vista...

it didnt happen the last time i use XP which is before vista...

related to HDD??

i was able to enter windows and running perfectly in windows..

its just matter of time loading to windows..

there are certain hardwares that i've changed before installing XP such as IDE cables for my DVD-RW... but does it effect??

i also have curled SATA cables for both my HDD...

the last time i'm running XP which is before vista...

it didnt load that long.. but it has unstability driver issue...

right now.. i've found the solution for the instability driver in XP but 1 minute XP load....

i hate waiting for the logon screen to appear...

and i've install the XP i'm using now 4-5 times using 3 different disc...

any IDEA???

MY rig is what u c at my sig...

i've been using vista ultimate (p*rate) for more than 6 months... and not using internet for about 5 months..

about 1 week i use internet without any antivirus bcoz i'm used to before.....

this morning when i startup the PC...

My pc will boot as usual... but when it comes to logon screen... it will automatically restart after a few seconds or after i logon...

that's the pening kpala thing... even if i logon with other accounts also will auto restart...

what issit really??

i have a budget of RM2k for a new proccessor, mobo, ram and graphic..

i love to play game like NFS and CS only with very high setting...

i hate to wait too long when doing my job...

most of the time just use for movie, musics and assignments...including adobe photo CS3..

so what would you all recommend for the MOBO, CPU and RAM?
