[WTA] Vignetting with CPL filter

WTA. I bought a Tokina CPL filter last month. I found vignetting when I use 18mm wide angle (APS-C). The shop sales person told me that I should remove my UV filter prior to use the CPL filter. I tried but vignetting still occur when the lens is set at 18mm. Is this becoz i use a normal Tokina CPL filter, but not those ultra thin CPL ? I got the CPL for S$25..
