Final Fantasy 14 players are walling off an in-game world after the Data Centre Travel feature enabled others to visit a popular roleplaying world.

Okay, that's a lot to process at once. Earlier this week, Final Fantasy 14 patch 6.18 finally debuted the long-awaited Data Centre Travel feature, allowing players to visit other worlds to greet others and see what players on those servers were getting up to.

One world has proved decidedly more popular than others for visiting. That would be the Balmung world which, as you can see below, 'native' players - those already on the server - are actually walling incoming 'tourists' off from exploring once they arrive.

If you're confused as to why this is, Balmung basically has a bit of a reputation for being home to wild roleplaying groups in Final Fantasy 14. There's the likes of the ERP (erotic roleplaying) clubs found specifically in Balmung for example, which are now drawing attention from players hoping to finally visit them now that the Data Centre Travel system is up and running. It's Balmung, for the record, which is the server advertising its in-game parties via real-life billboards.

KUALA LUMPUR: Residents of the Amber Court Apartment here are fed up with rumours and bad press that the building is haunted.

Amber Court Management Corporation chairman Datuk Seri Dr KK Chai said more than 100 residents gathered outside the apartment on Saturday (June 18) to protest against YouTubers and conmen who come to the apartment to make videos on supernatural activity, claiming that the building was haunted.

"Their allegations are baseless. None of us has ever seen a ghost let alone been disturbed by supernatural activity at the apartment.

"I believe these people making videos are just doing it to make themselves popular or they have a hidden agenda.

"Some of them claim to be so-called 'sifu' who can get rid of ghosts but at a price," he told reporters at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department on Wednesday (June 22).

He said for decades, the apartment has been labelled as haunted.

"Some residents have already lodged police reports over conmen claiming they could cleanse the apartment of bad spirits.

"He warned these YouTubers and conmen to stop spreading false information or face legal action," he said.

Its former chairman who was also present said such videos and allegations have brought down the value of the apartments there.

"While it costs at least RM1,000 per sq ft at other properties around Genting Highlands, the Amber Court property was currently only valued at around RM250 per sq ft.

"These baseless and irresponsible claims are damaging the name of the apartment.

"To date, over RM1.4mil has already been spent to upgrade the apartment's looks and change the elevators but these people continue to bring a bad name to the apartment," he said.

MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong said such unscrupulous and irresponsible acts must stop immediately.

"These residents will no longer tolerate such videos and claims.

"They will take legal action," he said, adding that his legal team is looking into the matter.

Chong said he has watched some of the videos of these "sifu" claiming there were spirits roaming around.

"They can even claim that they can see these spirits playing mahjong. The residents have had enough," he said.

In the latest update from the messy, inflammatory Johnny Depp. vs. Amber Heard defamation trial, model Kate Moss has taken the stand to testify about allegations of Depp physically assaulting her.

Moss dated Depp from 1994 to 1998, and she was called to the stand after Heard referenced a rumor that he pushed Moss down a set of stairs. Moss clarified under oath that was not the case.

In a virtual testimony, She testified that the incident in question happened during a trip to Jamaica. “We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did. There had been a rainstorm, and as I left the room, I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back,” Moss recalled. “And I screamed because I didn’t know what happened to me and I was in pain.” She added that Depp “carried me to my room and got me medical attention.” When asked if she was ever abused by Depp she said plainly, “No. He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs.” She was on the stand for five minutes, and Heard’s lawyers did not cross-examine her. Closing arguments are expected to be made by the end of the week.

The Depp vs. Heard trial has held the attention of the media and the public for weeks. The proceedings have covered everything from the absurd, such as threatening text messages referencing Monty Python and the now infamous incident that resulted in feces being found in Depp’s bed, to the much more serious allegations of abuse and sexual assault by Heard. The trial has been a case study in voyeurism and celebrity, as well as the terrifying realities of toxic relationships. The sooner it’s over, the better.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 ― A Taiwanese YouTuber has developed a custom fish tank stroller so that his pet goldfish can join him on walks in Taipei.

Using the handle Huang Xiaojie Jerry, Huang shared a clip of him welding a metal chassis to form the main frame of the stroller, before putting it on wheels, Daily Mail reported.

The tank portion is made from acrylic and sits in the middle of the stroller, ensuring the goldfish get a 360-degree view during their walks.

It comes with a battery-powered filtration system, an air pump to supply the fish with oxygen, and even a lighting system.

Huang tested his “stroller” recently where he took three of his goldfish for a walk around Taipei recently, and passers-by were flabbergasted, with many doing double takes as he passed by.

Alex Albon has been sporting some rather vibrant red hair in Miami this weekend. The Williams driver coloured his hair before the Australian Grand Prix, finished 10th, and got points for the team. However, the dye faded for Imola, and Alex finished in 11th.

In an attempt to generate more luck for the team, Albon revealed that he re-dyed it just for this event, and it worked!!

He managed to secure a provisional 10th place finish in Miami and revealed on Sky Sports that he’d made a bet with his team if he got more points!

“Before the weekend started, we did say that if I scored points this weekend, the whole team were going to dye their hair red,” Albon said.

“I just went to the engineering room, and they are all starting to backtrack their comments. They were like, ‘oh it was a podium’, and I was like, no it wasn’t.”

We certainly want to see that, and we’re actually warming to his new hairdo!

Pension fund ruins Musk's Twitter purchase

May 6 (Reuters) - Elon Musk and Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) were sued on Friday by a Florida pension fund seeking to stop Musk from completing his $44 billion takeover of the social media company before 2025.

In a proposed class action filed in Delaware Chancery Court, the Orlando Police Pension Fund said Delaware law forbade a quick merger because Musk had agreements with other big Twitter shareholders, including his financial adviser Morgan Stanley (MS.N) and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, to support the buyout.

The fund said those agreements made Musk, who owns 9.6% of Twitter, the effective "owner" of more than 15% of the company's shares. It said that required delaying the merger by three years unless two-thirds of shares not "owned" by him granted approval.

Morgan Stanley owns about 8.8% of Twitter shares and Dorsey owns 2.4%.

Musk hopes to complete his $54.20 per share Twitter takeover this year, in one of the world's largest leveraged buyouts.

He also runs electric car company Tesla Inc (TSLA.O), leads The Boring Co and SpaceX, and is the world's richest person according to Forbes magazine.

Twitter and its board, including Dorsey and Chief Executive Parag Agrawal, were also named as defendants.

Twitter declined to comment. Lawyers for Musk and the Florida fund did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The lawsuit also seeks to declare that Twitter directors breached their fiduciary duties, and recoup legal fees and costs. It did not make clear how shareholders believed they might be harmed if the merger closed on schedule.

Musk had no financing lined up when he announced plans to buy Twitter last month.

Some of the new investors appear to share interests with Musk, a self-described free speech absolutist who could change how the San Francisco-based company moderates content.

Florida's state pension fund also invests in Twitter, and Governor Ron DeSantis said this week it could make a $15 million to $20 million profit if Musk completed his buyout.

In afternoon trading, Twitter shares were down 60 cents at $49.76.

WELLINGTON: New Zealand reported its first case of Omicron BA.4 variant at the border amid 12,699 community cases during the weekend, said the Ministry of Health on Sunday.

A person who has travelled from overseas to New Zealand has been confirmed as having the BA.4 variant of Omicron. This is the first known detection of the variant in New Zealand," the ministry said in a statement.

Two other sub-variants of Omicron, the BA.2.12.1 and the BA 2.12.2, have also been detected in two returnees for the first time in New Zealand from travellers arriving in April, Xinhua news agency quoted the ministry.
