So is it true that Malaysian law limits only 3 sets of phones per person?
What if i drive a car there with my girlfriend, and each of use get 3 sets, meaning 6 in total. Will they tax us if we do that?

Genuine HD4850 GS

I've purchased a Gainward HD4850 OC Golden Sample recently but I think something is not right with this card. I have doubts that this is the normal edition, not the OC one.

1. The OC edition has 700mhz of CoreClock, and 2200 Mhz of Memory Clock.

2.I ve just plug in my card, and went to the ATI control panel. My card has 700mhz of CoreClock, and only 1100Mhz of Memory Clock.

Now how do I know if this card is the OC edition, or just the normal one? Is there other way to check if it is genuine?

Samsung 6 Series VS Sony Bravia W400

I want to build a new HTPC. Im planning to get a new LCD TV . I have set my eyes on these two models, but having a hard time to decide which one to go for..
I need some pros here to give me some advice.

Comparisan between them=
Both are 40inch
Price almost same
Both are 1080p Panel
Samsung response time is 4ms, while Sony's is 8ms
Both are 10-bit Panel
IMPORTANT* Samsung has Motion Plus technology, while Sony doesnt have. This makes long and fast moving scene very jerky and laggy.
I think Sony's colours are nicer than Samsung's.
Both have 24p Real Movie technology.
The salesman says for digital usage, go for Sony.

I plan to use it as HTPC. Mainly for watching movies and playing computer games. What features do you need to seriously consider? Which one do you prefer? Please give me some advice
Thanks.

Which Full HD TV that ACTUALLY support 1080p?

I have purchased this Philips LCD TV that claims to support full HD 1080p. I hooked up my computer to the TV set with a DVI-D to HDMI cable I purchased at Low Yat Plaza, but I couldnt get 1080p. The best resolution I can get is 1080i. Went to Philips service center at PJ, and tested it with other higher range TV like the 9 series that claims to support 1080p .Even tested with their RM 13k new model but all couldnt display 1080p when I hooked it up to my computer.
My PC SPEC

Pentium Quadcore
8800GT 512mb
4GB RAM

Now I plan to get another brand maybe Sony , Samsung or LG.

My question is, anyone here can tell me which TV MODEL can support 1080p by using PC? Please ONLY give me the Model you are sure of as I will be testing it out tomorrow at the nearest TV shop.
Thanks.

Philips cheated me..

2 months ago, I bought a philips LCD TV the model is 42PFL7432/98. In the manual it clearly stated that this TV can support 1080p@60hz.I found out that I cannot change to 1080p@60hz when i hook it up to my com via DVI to HDMI cable. I tried to complain to them before and they sent a technician over to my house and tested my Tv with their HD DVD player. As we all know, current HD DVD player or BLURAY player only support 1080p@24hz. That technician played some movies from the HD DVD storage which he claimed is 1080p reencoded at 60hz. At first i trusted him, I thought the problem might come from my pc. So I ask the salesman to test his display set with his computer. He tested with 3 different TVs ( Of course all same model) SAME PROBLEM! Nevermind, I asked my dad to bring the TV to his office, and tested it with 10different computers with different set up . SAMA JUGA! Then I called the philips guys again and they admit their set also cannot get 1080p@60hz. They said they need time to check this, now already 1 week still havent call me back. If they cant fix the problem, and they refuse to refund me, what can I do? Because they seems to have no idea how to fix this. This is clearly a cheating case!!

TM ignorantly told me that my line no 4mb!

I asked if my phone line can support 4mb at the nearest TMPOINT ( Kepong) and the jibai female staff told me that my phone can only support 1 mb, not even 2mb!. FINE, so that left me no choice but to take the 1mb package. A few days later, the technician came by and do the installation. I asked the technician to test my line speed see how fast can it goes. So he tested it, and showed me the result. Its 5117Kbps for downstream, upstream 517kbps.Mind you,I saw it with my own eyes,at the modem page. I asked la if he can leave it uncapped, he cakap tak boleh la . Nevermind. So I tried email tmnet at help@tm.com.my and they replied me in 4 days. They said my area is covered with 4mb service, but to upgrade I have to go to the nearest TMPOINT. So I went to TMPOINT again, queue for 50mins, at I got to be served by this jibai pukimak female staff again! And as I would expect, this jibai pukimak again told me that my phone line doesnt support 4mb! I argued with her , I even showed her the email from help@tm.com.my , and told her that even the technician said my line can go up to 5117kbps. "System saya tunjuk you punya phone line tak ader, memang takder. Kalau itu email atau technician cakap ada, suruhlah mereka tolong you buat processing. Saya sini check takder, saya tak boleh buat." THATS THE f***ING p*** LANJIAO KNN DLLM JIBAI answer. Not satisfied, I call my friend punya friend who works in telekom, ask him help me uncapped the adsl speed for awhile, to make sure my line can really goes up to 4m or even 5mb. So he did, I checked my modem, it showed that my line can go to 5mb. Then I ask him to change to 3mb to see if my modem is reading the speed corectly, so he did and the reading showed 3mb. WHAT ARE THE TMNET TRYING TO DO? Are they trying to not let user upgrade to 4mb? MEREKA TAK MAU BUAT BUSINESS KA?

Problems with 8800GT supporting 1080p

Hi all,

I've just purchased a Philips 42 inch LCD TV model 7432/98 and I wanna use it as my Computer monitor. So i hooked up my computer to the TV via DVI to HDMI cable. The thing is, when i switch the resolution to 1080p, the picture becomes very blurred. If i switch it to 1080i, the picture very nice, but as we all know, 1080p>1080i. So I called up Philips and they bought their HDDVD player together to do some testing. Everythings perfect. The 1080p or even the 720p looks good on their HDDVD player. They told me that the TV is working very well. They said the problem could be from the source, which is the video card. The other problem is, my TV can support 1080p@60hz, but when I change the refresh rate at Nvidia panel to more than 25hz, the TV cannot display the picture. Below is my com spec

2.2 core 2 duo
4gb ram
nvidia 8800gt
