Nicest way to reject someone?

Hiii. Needing advice ..yet again xD.
As per the title pleaseee what's the nicest way to reject someone. I do want to stay friends with him, maybe it's a little my fault I kept going on dates with him because I enjoyed his company. Just did not expect the question so soon.

Reasons why I don't want to start a relationship with him:
1) parents will not approve
2) different religious ideals - which he says won't affect anything but honestly it bothers me a tad
3) although I kinda like him, I met someone else that I click with a lot better (but I can't tell him this)

Since I assume most of cc's audience is male... what's the best way you'd like to be rejected by a girl ? Least hurtful ?

Frienships that could've been more..

Has anyone here ever been friends with someone that you were secretly attracted to/crushing on? Maybe at one point the friendship could have become more...but it never did. For whatever reason (graduation or moving away) you two drifted away, but you still think about them from time to time...and sometimes actually MISS them?!

Share your stories here!

I'll go first:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

There was a guy I knew in hs, we had the same group of friends but I never really got to know him until my final year. We grew pretty close, he had a pretty bad rep as a manwh0re but he never tried any of his moves on me etc. He respected me and it was all good, when I found out that he liked me I didn't confess b/c of some complicated relationships he had with some of my friends & cos of his rep. He had dated two of my friends before, eventhough they had broken up they were each ape sh!t gaga over him.

At the time, when we were getting to know each other he had an on & off girlfriend so that was even more confusing on my part. When he asked me out, I would reject his offers. I just didn't want to get involved with it all. Halfway thru' the final year of hs he just dropped out, and did his own thing. We pretty much drifted apart, until two years later when he transferred to my uni.

Even then he had his "tag-along gf" who hung onto him like a puppy dog (even though by then they were long broken up), it was nice to see him again. I thought convo would be awkward, but it wasn't. It was just like meeting up with a really familiar old friend. He told me that he would have left his gf for me then, and would sever all ties now, if that's what I wanted.

Needless to say, I did not take him up on his offer. Now.. he's finally with another girl. But every year when it's my bday he makes sure to wish me happy bday on the dot (as soon as it hits 12am) and to give me a pressie despite his busy schedule.

Sometimes I do think of him and am like... whatttt iffff...... but it's only for a fleeting moment if anything.

Post graduate study - Finance

Not sure if I'm posting in the right thread, if not please move it to the relevant section. I would like a few opinions.

I've recently just completed my Bachelor of Commerce w/ two majors: Finance and Financial Planning. However, I'm still undecided as what I should do. I've spoken to quite a number of people within the finance industry and they have all recommended these four different options. I do understand that what I pick up depends on what sort of job I wish to work in.. however I'm not exactly sure what I wanna do...

Sooo these are the 4 options at the moment that I'm considering:

1) Do a Masters of Prof. Accounting which is basically a conversion course, that will allow me to practice as an accountant if I wish. I guess that may deem my undergrad years at uni to be a waste though I suppose.

2) Do a Masters of Applied Finance

3) Start the CFA. I know that the jobs on offer once completed will be all to do with management of mutual funds & analysis of equities etc. I also am aware that the CFA and goes hand in hand w/ MappFin

4) Commence my CFP qualification. I feel as though this is some what restricting and probably my last option as I do not really know what I would like to work as. Getting my CFP pretty much means that I'll be a financial planner or in a private wealth advisory role.

Thaaanksss.

SORRY dnno if its a repost....

QUOTE

Maybe the cash-strapped U.S. government should start selling iPads.

According to the latest statement from the U.S. Treasury , the government had an operating cash balance Wednesday of $73.8 billion. That's still a lot of money, but it's less than what Steve Jobs has lying around.

Tech juggernaut Apple had a whopping $76.2 billion in cash and marketable securities at the end of June, according to its last earnings report . Unlike the U.S. government, which is scrambling to avoid defaulting on its debt, Apple takes in more money than it spends

This symbolic feat -- the world's most highly valued tech company surpassing the fiscal strength of the world's most powerful nation -- is just the latest pinnacle for Apple, which has been on an unprecedented roll.

Its Macs, iPhones and iPads remain hot sellers, its stock has surged past $400 a share and Apple just became the world's largest smartphone vendor by volume.

There's been a lot of speculation about what Apple might buy with its piles of cash -- Facebook and Sony being two of the more high-profile examples -- but the company doesn't seem to be in any hurry to make a move.

"We don't let the cash burn a hole in the pocket or make stupid acquisitions," CEO Jobs said last fall. "We'd like to continue to keep our powder dry because we think there are one or more strategic opportunities in the future."
Offering Uncle Sam a short-term loan is probably not one of them.

Source: CNN
