Situation:

When playing 3D games, the screen will suddenly blackout , then display "digital power saving mode". Sometimes I can hear the game is still running at the background. sometime i hear the game hang also. pressing any buttons on keyboard has proven no effects to the situation(for example ctrl + alt + del). The only thing i can do is press the reset button on the PC to forcefully make it restarts. I suspect is graphic card problem, or may be my vista got some problem, I don't know.

Can someone here please help me on this? I don't know how to find out what's wrong with my PC. please help me, it really gets to my nerf as this problem already exist for at least a few months.

Below is my pc spec:

Intel Pentium D 2.66GHz
2GB RAM
(Colorful brand)Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS
Vista Business 32 bit

PC hang

Please help ... I dont know what's wrong with my PC, it hangs constantly. I've had a hard time formatting and installing back my Windows XP because it keeps hanging through the installation process. Please tell me what can i do to find out what is wrong? When my comp hangs, even the optical mouse's sensor light also dim (no more light). Can someone help me?

[MMU GDC] DOTA, CS Closed tournament

This is a closed tournament organised for MMU students only. The main aim for this tournament is to let MMU students have fun together. Below are the details for this tournament:

Date: 23-08-2008
Venue: FIT AR101,FITAR1003
Registration Fee: RM 20 per team (GDC member), RM30 per team (Non-GDC member) *Whole team will automatically registered as GDC member
upon registration. If it happens that some of the team members are member and some are not, then the registration fee will be
RM20 + 2x. Where x is the number of team member that is not a GDC member yet.
Registration Method: Email registration: cadrick_loh@hotmail.com
Payment method : to be updated.
Game titles: DOTA , CS 1.6
Number of teams : 16 for DOTA, 16 for CS
Prize: Champion : RM200 cash
1st Runner up : RM100 cash

Currently we are still discussing how we going to handle the payment method. pre-payment or pay on the spot. If it is pay on the spot, we need to enforce a rule is that, whoever that registered and didn't show up on that day, his/her Student ID will be blacklisted and will not be able to join any competitions that are organised by GDC in the future. Need feedback. Rules will be updated soon.

SAPS point will be given to participants.

Information that will be needed in the registration:
leader's name, Student ID(compulsory for each and every team member), leader's Email, leader's HP number, team name.

[MMU GDC] Board & Card game gathering

Game Developers' Club MMU Cyberjaya is calling all board/card game lovers to join us in the fun! GDC has been organising board/card game gathering since the past few years. And now, we would like to invite even more people that are interested in board games or card games to join us.

Event: Board & Card Game gathering
Date : 22-07-2008, 29-7-2008,5-8-2008 and so on and so on.... once per week
Place: MMU Cyberjaya
Venue: Faculty of Information Technology ( FIT CR 1003)
Target : Board games/ card game lovers, dunno-ers, starters,gamers.
Entrance fee : FREE
Time: 8pm - 12am (You may leave whenever you want to though ^^)

Games that we play:
Board games :
Blokus,Stone Age, Puerto Rico, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Risk, Cluedo, Chang Cheng, Haste Bock, Zooloretto, Acquire, Settlers of Catan.. etc

card games:
Magic: The Gathering, World of Warcraft TCG, Saboteur, Gundam.. etc

Note: You do not required to bring your own board game here. But if you have it and you would like to share the fun with the community, feel free to bring along and we will be more than happy to have you along ^^. As for card games, it is better if you can bring your own decks/ album here(for viewing and trading) for play. But if you don't have one, no problem, feel free to come, we have several decks that can lend to you to play. Tutorial will be given on how to play the board games and also card games. so if you want to learn some board games and card games, come along and we'll teach you. This event is open for all.

Hello everyone. A DOTA tournament will be held in MMU, Cyberjaya, to those who wish to participate, it is open for registration now. Below is the particulars for the tournament:

Date: 12-13 July 2008.
Location: Multimedia University, Cyberjaya.
Venue: Faculty of Information Technology(FIT) labs (exact venue TBA)
Registration Fees: RM 40 per team.
Dateline for registration: 10th July 2008

Prize

Champion : RM600 cash + 5 Warcraft Battle Chests + Certificate
1st Runner up: RM400 cash +5 Warcraft Battle Chests + certificate
5 consolation : certificate of appreciation

Reminders

1)You have to pay a deposit of RM10 or a full payment of RM40 for your team in order to confirm your slot in the
tournament.You may choose not to pay 1st, but your slot for the tournament will not be reserved(means that you
can pay on the spot).
2)Walk-in registration is NOT accepted.
3)Campus area, so NO smoking is allowed.
4)Team(s) that is late for 15 minutes and above will be disqualified.
5)Head Marshal's has the final judgement on tournament gameplay issues.
6)Your match time will be informed by 11th July 2008(Friday).
7)5 players per team, 2 substitutes(optional).

Help! Graphic card problem

Help~~, im using ATI Radeon X1800 GTO, and the card seems is overheating. Now I open the casing and let a table fan blow at it, the temperature of the card showed in the ATI Catalyst is 67 celcius minimum while my computer is in idle, or not playing games. If i don't open the casing , and i play games like Dawn of magic and such, the temperature can rise up to 105 celcius, and the PC will automatically shutdown. I've opened up the casing and check the card, the fan is spinning. But dont know y, suddenly it will b come like this 1. Just 2 months back, my initial power supply broken, and i change a new 1. However, the house that I stay at that time facing power trip problem like... twice per day. I wonder is this the situation that caused the graphic card to malfunction?Please, I need help, the card is too hot...

Overheat problem

Hello guys, Recently I'm facing problem from my graphic card. It is Radeon X1800 GTO. When i play certain games like Dungeon & Dragon Online: Stormreach and Dawn of Magic , the card seems to overheat very fast.I didnt overclock my graphic card. From my observation, the temperature of the graphic card easily rise up to 105 celcius after i play these games. Will power supply affect this overheat situation? I just changed my power supply not long ago, and this problem starts to surface after the power supply has been changed. Please give me some advice... Thanks in advance.

Streamyx connection : Download Problem

The connection is lost when someone in the LAN is downloading, especially torrents. Well, it goes not responding, sometimes, I cant even access the router that I using.I heard that TMnet is trying to block users from downloading torrents, is that true? If it is not TMnet problem, I hope that someone can help me rectify this problem. And, the port forwarding will not work.

Hey guys, I'm a J2ME beginner with some JAVA knowledge, recently, I'm thinking of making a mobile game with multiplayer feature that uses bluetooth to connect. Can anyone here provide me some tips on how to do it ? Or, anyone of you have links to bluetooth tutorial on mobile phone? Your help will be very appreciated,thanks.

can anyone help me? =( 2 computers in my home are infected with msn viruses. I think is trojan.Dropper. 1 comp will goes into blue screen if runs in normal mode, and another 1 will keep on restarting... can anyone help me ?? XD
