Today marks the end of an era of tyranny that many have prayed for. I grew up looking up to these two individuals, loving them, respecting them. There was a time when i would have walked through the fires of hell and back for them. As i grew older, i saw the selfishness and greed of one above all else.

I experienced firsthand emotional, physical and mental abuse at the hands of the one on the left.

I witnessed firsthand the same abuse she caused onto the one on the right.

I witnessed many trespasses, deals and handshakes these two made for the benefit of power and to fuel their appetite for greed.

I wotnessed the side deals made behind the back of the one on the right.

The amount of money in briefcases exchanging hands and being spent like water not for the benefit of the rakyat but to be spent like water on jewels, bribery of officials and used in the pursuit of gaining more power.

Shamans, witch doctors, aesthetic doctors and the like walking the pathways of my home for one reason or another but mostly to bring to heel and gain dominion over their peers and over their family members, even to cause harm on those who were audacious enough to cross them.

The numerous offshore accounts opened to launder money out of the country for their personal spending. The steel safes full of jewels, precious stones and cash amassed. Being made a cash mule or even crystal shoes mule carrying these quietly into and out of the country was no fun either, let me tell you.

The countless attempts to sell me into marriage to the highest bidder or even persons with the highest position that will be able to help them gain political and social advantage. The greed, avarice and pride that grew with each step that was gained closer to the top position.

Nothing could stop their reign of terror and yet i stayed out of loyalty and duty. When this terror was then focused on me and became too unbearable a burden to carry, i decided to leave. Thus began my self imposed exile from this unfortunate family.

When I married the man of my choosing after exhausting all ways of trying to convince them to release me from my bond, my new family unit was harassed and exposed to countless cruel, intolerable, degrading treatment at the hands of one Rosmah Mansor and her collaborators.

Unchecked, she engaged different government machinery, civil servants, media and members of Parliament to harass the family. Too many other creative methods were used to terrorise us and shut all ways of providing for the family and our children.

Throughout all of this and despite numerous attempts to seek help from the Prime Minister it was all to no avail. In fact, he covered his wife’s tracks instead. The one person who could have helped, refused to do so and turned a blind eye and a deaf ear. Too scared of his bed partner to exercise any semblance of mercy.

Just as he was too scared to stand up for the rights of the people when he realised something malignant had creeped into 1MDB but instead this family resorted to committing the disgustingly treasonous act of stealing from their people billions of dollars which they proceeded to use not just as their personal coffers to the detriment of the people but to bribe, extort, silence, maime and kill.

The day I left home, I left you a warning. That one who has been elected into office has powers only at the will of the people. They are there to serve the people, not the other way round. There will come a reckoning when the people will punish you for your trespasses on them. There will come a day when God will punish you for your trespasses the very people you swore to protect.

Today, my message to the both of you, to any siblings i have related by their blood who partook in this affair, to the eager collaborators and conspirators who sold out your people and the innocent for cash is this:

KUCHING: Kerajaan Sarawak menyasarkan sekurang-kurangnya 90% daripada keseluruhan negeri itu dapat menikmati kemudahan internet berkelajuan tinggi menjelang 2022 menerusi pendekatan yang sedang dilaksanakan.

Ketua Menteri, Abang Johari Openg berkata, pendekatan itu akan dilaksanakan menerusi kerjasama antra Lembaga Multimedia Sarawak, Perbadanan Ekonomi Digital Sarawak, Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia serta Sarawak Information System Sdn Bhd.

“(Melalui pendekatan ini) kita akan dapat meningkatkan lagi kelajuan dan juga akses kepada seluruh kawasan, sama ada di bandar atau di luar bandar (di Sarawak),” katanya ketika berucap merasmikan majlis Hari Inovasi dan Integriti Jabatan Tanah dan Survei Sarawak.

Beliau berkata, kepentingan kesalinghubungan ini ditekankan dalam pelaksanaan Strategi Pembangunan 2030 Pasca Covid-19 (PCDS 2030) Sarawak yang diumumkannya Julai lepas dan perlu dimanfaatkan anggota perkhidmatan awam dalam menyampaikan perkhidmatan kepada sektor swasta dan rakyat.

“Strategi pembangunan ini akan membawa pembangunan pesat kepada rakyat Sarawak sekali gus meningkatkan kesejahteraan sosioekonomi rakyat dengan lebih banyak akses kepada peluang ekonomi.”

Dalam pada itu, Abang Johari turut meminta agensi kerajaan lain di Sarawak mencontohi Jabatan Tanah dan Survei (JTS) Sarawak yang menjalin kerjasama strategik dengan institusi pengajian tinggi bagi menjalankan penyelidikan dan pembangunan (R&D).

JTS Sarawak dan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) memeterai memorandum persefahaman dalam majlis itu untuk mewujudkan Makmal Satelit JTS-UTM bagi tujuan R&D, menerusi perkongsian teknologi, kepakaran, peluang latihan dan penyelidikan.

“(Kerjasama) ini bukan sahaja memberikan manfaat kepada UTM untuk mendalami situasi sebenar dalam industri, malah akan memberikan manfaat besar kepada JTS untuk menjalankan penyelidikan lebih teliti dan terperinci.”

Katanya, kepentingan aspek R&D semakin terserlah sewaktu negara menghadapi krisis Covid-19 dan projek ekonomi digital yang dilancarkannya pada 2017 membolehkan Sarawak melaksanakan persiapan awal menghadapi keadaan itu.

“Kalau kita tidak berinovasi, tiada R&D, tiada inisiatif untuk meningkatkan prestasi perkhidmatan, mungkin kita akan mengalami krisis yang kritikal untuk berhadapan dengan situasi pada ketika ini dalam keadaan pandemik Covid-19.”

Dulu punya janji pun belum bikin dah janji baru.

Sarawak mensasarkan tahun 2020 untuk merealisasikan hasrat untuk membina sistem Transit Aliran Ringan (LRT) di kawasan Selatan Sarawak.
Ketua Menteri Datuk Abang Johari Tun Openg berkata, jangkamasa itu diberi berasaskan kajian awal yang telah dibuat.

"Buat masa ini, tiada keputusan lagi dibuat. Kami masih di peringkat perancangan laluan.

Sebelum ini, beliau dilaporkan berkata Sarawak akan merangka pelan jangka panjang untuk menaik taraf pengangkutan awam di Sarawak termasuk pelan menggunakan sistem LRT.
Tambah beliau, kawasan yang akan dihubungkan adalah antara Kuching, Serian dan Samarahan.
Apabila ditanya sama ada perancangan tersebut akan melibatkan keseluruhan negeri dan bukan hanya bahagian selatan Sarawak, Abang Johari berkata perancangan laluan akan dibuat berdasarkan pembangunan infrastruktur di kawasan-kawasan tertentu.
"Kita perlu pastikan bahawa secara ekonominya pembinaan LRT tersebut adalah sesuai di tempat tersebut," kata beliau.
Abang Johari berkata demikian ketika Majlis Menandatangani Memorandum Persefahaman bagi Projek Methanol dan hasilnya antara Yayasan Hartanah Bumiputera Sarawak dan Konsortium China Huaqiu Contracting and Engineering Co dan Macfeam Sdn Bhd di Hotel Ritz Carlton, Kuala Lumpur petang tadi.
Projek bernilai AS$800 juta tersebut dijangka akan membawa impak positif kepada industri minyak dan gas bukan sahaja di Sarawak tetapi juga di Malaysia.
"Kami sudah mendapatkan rakan kongsi serta syarikat yang sesuai untuk projek ini," kata Abang Johari.

Musician who co-founded Australian rock legends in 1973 with brother Angus Young dies following battle with dementia

Malcolm Young, guitarist and co-founder of AC/DC, died Saturday at the age of 64. Young had been suffering with dementia for the past three years, an illness that forced his retirement from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band he founded with his brother Angus Young in 1973.

"Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young," AC/DC wrote in a statement.

"Malcolm, along with Angus, was the founder and creator of AC/DC. With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band. As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man. He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted. He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed."

Angus Young added, "As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special. He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever. Malcolm, job well done."

The Young brothers lost their older brother George Young, the Easybeats guitarist and AC/DC's longtime producer, in October at the age of 70.

In an additional statement from Malcolm Young's family, the band said that Malcolm Young died peacefully Saturday with his family by his side.

"Renowned for his musical prowess, Malcolm was a songwriter, guitarist, performer, producer and visionary who inspired many," the statement said. "From the outset, he knew what he wanted to achieve and, along with his younger brother, took to the world stage giving their all at every show. Nothing less would do for their fans."

As rhythm guitarist for the legendary rock band, Malcolm Young served as an indispensable foil to Angus Young's arena-stuffing riffs. After forming AC/DC in 1973, the Young brothers would be credited as co-writers on every song the band recorded from their 1975 debut High Voltage through 2014's Rock or Bust. That final album marked AC/DC's first without Malcolm, who announced in September 2014 that he would permanently leave the band due to dementia.

"We miss Malcolm, obviously," AC/DC singer Brian Johnson said in July 2014. "He's a fighter. He's in [the] hospital, but he's a fighter. We've got our fingers crossed that he'll get strong again... Stevie, Malcolm's nephew, was magnificent, but when you're recording with this thing hanging over you and your work mate isn't well, it's difficult. But I'm sure [Malcolm] was rooting for us."

Malcolm Young last performed live with AC/DC when their tour for 2008's Black Ice concluded in June 2010 with a concert in Bilbao, Spain.

Malcolm Young, like his older brother George and younger brother Angus, was born in Glasgow, Scotland before the whole Young family emigrated to Sydney, Australia in the early Sixties.

Malcolm and Angus' first brush with rock stardom came courtesy of their brother George, who found global fame thanks to his band the Easybeats and their song "Friday on My Mind." Although Malcolm's two older brothers found success in the music industry, their father still made Malcolm work as a mechanic in a bra factory after leaving school at 15.

"I've never felt like a pop star – this is a nine-to-five sort of gig," Malcolm told Rolling Stone in 2008. "It comes from working in the factories, that world. You don't forget it."

In 1973, Malcolm recruited Angus to form a new band, which the brothers named after the "AC/DC" electrical current marker they spotted on their sister's sewing machine. After a few lineup changes, the Young brothers were introduced to singer Bon Scott by their brother George, who would serve as AC/DC's producer on their early albums.

Throughout AC/DC's tenure, Malcolm and Angus Young served as the band's main creative force, crafting the unmistakable riffs that would make AC/DC one of the biggest bands in music. Together, the brothers would create the music for hits like "Back in Black," "Hells Bells," "Highway to Hell," "Thunderstruck," "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)," "You Shook Me All Night Long" and dozens more rock staples.

However, Malcolm's time in AC/DC was not without strife: A heavy drinker, he briefly left AC/DC in 1988 during the Blow Up Your Video Tour – his only absence from the band up to and until his dementia diagnosis – to go to rehab to curb his drinking problem. After a few months, Malcolm returned to the band and remained sober ever since. "I was not surprised," George Young said of his younger brother's sobriety. "When Malcolm puts his mind to something, he does it."

E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt said in a statement to Rolling Stone, "Malcolm was the essential rhythm guitarist of the world’s greatest working class Hard Rock band. An irreplaceable loss."

Guns N' Roses' Slash told Rolling Stone, "Malcolm Young was one of the best ever rhythm guitarists in Rock n Roll. He was a fantastic songwriter and he had a great work ethic too. I toured with AC/DC on their 'Stiff Upper Lip' tour. I found Malcolm to be a really cool, down to earth fellow. The entire rock n roll community is heartbroken by his passing."

Heart's Nancy Wilson told Rolling Stone, "Malcom Young was the embodiment of rock itself. His rhythm guitar style needed no embellishment. He laid down the simple solid guitar truth that taught us all about the 'less is more ethic.' The wild power of simplicity and the head banging hair flipping joys of turning it up really loud and dancing with the vibrations. Thank you, Malcom for being the real deal. We are all going to miss that shredding music that only you and your brother could make together."

Eddie Van Halen wrote following Young's death, "It is a sad day in rock and roll. Malcolm Young was my friend and the heart and soul of AC/DC. I had some of the best times of my life with him on our 1984 European tour. He will be missed and my deepest condolences to his family, bandmates and friends."

Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, who regarded Malcolm as one of rock's greatest rhythm guitarists, tweeted Saturday following Young's death, "I have to go...I am losing it that Malcolm is gone. I hate this..." Kiss' Paul Stanley added, "The driving engine of AC/DC has died. A tragic end for a sometimes unsung icon. One of the true greats. RIP." Tom Morello praised Young as "#1 greatest rhythm guitarist in the entire history of rock n roll."

Foo Fighters' leader Dave Grohl honored Young by writing about how, at age 11, watching a live AC/DC performance from Paris in 1979 in the movie theater was life-changing. "That film ... was the first time I lost control to music. The first time I wanted to be in a band. I didn't want to play my guitar anymore, I wanted to smash it," Grohl wrote. "Thank you, Malcolm for the songs, and the feel and the cool and the years of losing control to your rock and roll."

The Young brothers and AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. With over 110 million albums sold, AC/DC is also the best-selling Australian act of all time.

When Rolling Stone asked the Young brothers in 2008, Who runs AC/DC?," Malcolm replied, "We both do, because we were there from the start."

WWE hall of fame star Jimmy Snuka has died, aged 73.
His lawyer said the wrestler died at his son-in-law's home in Florida surrounded by family and friends. The Fijian-born former wrestler had spent time in a hospice for several conditions including dementia, though it's not clear yet how he died. In a statement on its website, WWE said it was saddened to learn of his death and hailed him as "the pioneer of high-flying offense" in the ring. His daughter Tamina Snuka, also a WWE star, tweeted "I love you dad" with a picture of the two.

It's less than two weeks since homicide charges were dropped against Jimmy Snuka relating to the death of his girlfriend in 1983. A judge ruled that he was mentally incompetent to stand trial over the death of 23-year-old Nancy Argentino. The charges were only brought in 2015. He pleaded not guilty to third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Wrestling stars have been paying tribute to Snuka online.

Peter Vaughan: Thrones and Porridge star dies at 93

British actor Peter Vaughan, best known for roles in Game of Thrones and Porridge, has died at the age of 93.
He played Maester Aemon in the HBO series and Grouty in the TV sitcom. His many other roles included parts in TV shows Citizen Smith, Chancer and Our Friends in the North. His agent Sally Long-Innes said: "This is to confirm that very sadly Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10.30 this morning. He died peacefully with his family around him." Vaughan began acting in the 1950s and became a recognisable face by playing numerous mainly supporting roles on stage, television and film.

His best known parts included:
1. The menacing villain Harry Grout in Porridge, which remained his most famous part, despite the fact he only appeared in a handful of episodes
2. The strict father of Robert Lindsay's girlfriend in the first two series of another 1970s comedy, Citizen Smith
3. Town patriarch Tom Hedden in Straw Dogs, the controversial film made by Sam Peckinpah, whom Vaughan described as "one of the best directors ever"
4. Felix, the dementia-suffering father of Christopher Eccleston's character in landmark TV drama Our Friends in the North, which earned him a Bafta nomination
5. The ageing butler William Stevens, the father of Anthony Hopkins's character in Merchant Ivory's film The Remains of the Day
6. The elderly, blind Maester Aemon of the Night's Watch in HBO's epic fantasy Game of Thrones

Vaughan described himself as a character actor, saying he did not have the looks to play romantic leads. "If you're a character actor, you don't need to wait for the next leading role," he once said. "But if you are a leading man you have to wait for the next part. Sometimes that means long periods without work." He was never out of work for long, but Vaughan was not overly fond of only being recognised for Porridge.
"It bores me rigid," he once said. "I only did about four episodes and the film but never has a role been written that has had more impact." However Game of Thrones brought him a new level of fame with a younger audience, and he remained in the show for five years.

Chris Metzen, Senior VP of Story and Franchise Development at Blizzard Entertainment and the legendary co-creator of hit games including “Diablo,” “Warcraft,” and “StarCraft,” is retiring at age 42.

Metzen’s retirement was announced internally to Blizzard employees late Monday afternoon, Business Insider has learned. He was with the company for 23 years, seeing it go from a small startup to a global mega-power in video games.

It was not immediately made clear why Metzen is retiring, or when his last day will be.

Metzen is best known to fans of Blizzard’s games, which recently expanded to the smash-hit shooter “Overwatch,” as the man in charge of each game’s overall story.

In 1996, Metzen co-created the universe of the smash-hit “Diablo” with ex-Blizzard designer Bill Roper. He also contributed to the setting and designs of games including “Warcraft” and its sequel. In 1998, Roper was the lead designer of the smash-hit space strategy game “StarCraft.”

Since 2002, Metzen served as creative director on many of Blizzard’s games, and contributed writing and artwork to “World of Warcraft.” Metzen also consulted with director Duncan Jones on the the “Warcraft” movie, released just this summer. He also made a cameo in that same film.

Over the years, Metzen has also contributed art design and voice acting work to Blizzard’s games.

I had just turned twenty years old when I started working at Blizzard. Seems like a lifetime ago. Guess it was. Those first few years were the start of a very grand adventure for me, one that would take me around the world, introduce me to thousands of wonderful geeks just like me—and ultimately shape the course of my adult life.

Of course when I started, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I had no idea how to make games or build entertainment products.…

But I had an insatiable passion for ideas. For stories. For heroes.

My only real training before joining Blizzard was the long-running D&D campaign I had with my closest friends—Sam, Mike P., Daniel, and Mikey C. (you know who you are, boys…HAMRO!). Building ideas—vast worldscapes, characters, and plotlines with my friends was my first great love. I lived for it. It was a safe space amid the tension and change of some rough teenage years. The grand refuge of D&D was a glorious meeting of minds and imaginations where I felt I truly belonged.

It was a space where friendship and imagination were inextricably linked.

The sharing of ideas on the fly, the crazy, unexpected turns other players would take—it stretched our imaginations in ways we’d never have dreamt of on our own. I loved how roleplaying through adventures taught us so much about each other—and, more often than not, ourselves. Imagining together helped us make sense of the crazy world we were growing up in. It made us stronger together.

I wouldn’t really understand the depth of it for many years, but I had learned an important truth from my friends back then:

Creativity is relational.

Looking back at my years at Blizzard, I see now how profoundly this idea has shaped my career. I see how profoundly my friends and coworkers at Blizzard have shaped me as a person.

For nearly twenty-three years I’ve had the very distinct privilege of shaping worlds and building games with the brightest creative minds in entertainment. I’ve walked with giants (and stood on some giants’ shoulders, too).

In short, I’ve had the time of my life.

I pretty much had the coolest job ever—but the truth is, sometimes it was really hard. Building games with dozens of brilliant, passionate alpha-geeks with their own red-hot instincts and perspectives can be pretty tricky. Coming to consensus about certain design decisions, story motifs, or courses of art direction takes a lot of communication, patience, and “give and take.” It stretches you. Sometimes it wasn’t all that pretty. But engaging with your teammates and collaborating through the potential quagmire of all that creative tension is where the real magic happens.

It’s not just the decisions you come to—or even the final shape of the product you craft.… It’s bigger than that—and infinitely more important. True collaboration builds trust—and trust is the basis of all lasting relationships. With trust you build more than just a great product.

You build a TRIBE…that can build anything.

A family of craftsmen.

That’s what Blizzard has been for me. My second family, through all of life’s ups and downs, it’s always been there. The great, geeky backdrop of my life. I don’t just mean “the job” or even the creative mission—but the people. The people who over and over lifted me up, believed in me—and pushed me to find my potential as both an artist and as a leader all these years.

To my Blizzard brothers and sisters…I wish I had the words.

Everything just sounds…trite.

All I can think of is…

You helped me believe in myself and achieve every one of my wildest dreams.
I am forever grateful to you.

I love you all with everything I’ve got.

And to all of you out there in Blizzard’s vast gaming community—those of you I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in person and all of you around the world I’ve only heard about—thank you.

Thank you all for letting me be a special part of your community. For letting me belong with you. We’ve shared countless adventures together and I’ve always been overwhelmed and humbled by your passion for our games as well your commitment to each other. Thank you for all the BlizzCon hugs, smiles, handshakes, and stories over the years. You will never know how much you’ve all touched my heart and inspired me to give my all into this craft.

With that said, I’ll try to get down to the point, here. I’ve come to a turn in the road. A new, far quieter chapter in my life looms ahead.

I am retiring.

It’s a massive change for me, but it’s one I’ve been looking forward to for a while now. It’s ironic given the fact that things have never been better or more energized at Blizzard. Just this year alone has been incredible.

I’ve never been more proud of Blizzard and the quality of its products than I am now. It’s remarkable that even after all these years we can still reach new heights and take the world for an amazing ride. I believe Blizzard’s future is brighter than ever.

I won’t lie—it’s going to be really hard stepping away from these worlds that I love. But I’m content that I’m leaving them in the hands of the most passionate, talented, and dedicated craftsmen ever assembled.

I can’t wait to see where Blizzard’s worlds go next—and to experience them first-hand like everyone else does. As a fan. As an adventurer. Right back to the start.

The reason I use the word “retire” is because I’m not going to some other company or starting up new projects or anything remotely like that. It’s been a long, amazing stretch of years. Now it’s time to slow it down. Rest. Lay around on the couch and get fat. Well, fatter.…

Seriously though, I’ll be focusing on the one thing that matters most to me in all the world—my family. They’re the core of my life and the source of my deepest joy and inspiration. In addition to raising our two little ones, we recently welcomed our new baby into the family! Being home with them all, having time and space to really live…to love my wife with all my strength…that’s my career now.

And I’ve never been happier.
