Use Maxis 5G SIM and Backup Phone as "Router"?

Any Home WiFi users can tell me if it's good?

The 5G speed in my area is good, and I've been tethering my devices to my Android phone and using it as a "router".

However battery of course drains faster because I'm still using my Android phone as a regular smartphone for other stuff.
So I'm thinking of getting dedicated Maxis 5G WiFi router.
But is it that much better than using a Android phone with Maxis 5G SIM Card?
I don't expect more than 4 devices to be connected to it at at time.

So my question is this which is better - get a 2nd SIM card for tethering or Home WiFi?

Will ETH hit another ATH in 2021? (Update: Yes)

How to hide RM150,000 cash notes

Asking for a friend - let's call him Mr Tan.

Supposing Mr Tan has around RM150,000 cash, mostly in RM100 and RM50 bills (and some in SGD/USD). But in 2 months Mr. Tan has to go to jail for a few years and cannot bring the cash into the jail.

Problem is he cannot trust his family and friends to keep it for him, because they might not resist the temptation to use it to settle their own debts. And he can't hide it in his house (because family will surely find it because they have years to search). Also, hecannot deposit into banks because he has some criminal record problems and lawyers are looking for this money.

What's the best way for him to hide the money for a minimum of 3 years?

Already suggested some ideas:
- I suggested wrapping the paper in dry clean paper bags, put it in a box, and bury somewhere. Problem: don't know where to bury for 3 years.
- Convert to gold and bury it (but same problem with finding a good digging spot)
- Convert to Bitcoin (but problem is Bitcoin prices fluctuate like mad)

Anybody have anymore ideas?

Hi guys, would like your advice on whether my current financial situation is good enough to obtain a 550k housing loan.

Job: Self-employed, but income not consistent. Some months get very little, other months get a lot.
Marital Status: Single
Fixed Deposit: RM 110,000
Liquid Cash: RM 37,000
EPF Account 2: RM 46,000
Debt: None at the moment, credit card always pay on time

FYI I do declare my income tax every year but I have no payslip. However I heard that banks these days will make it hard for people with no official registered company / payslip to apply for loan?

Basically my question is what is the max loan do you think I can get?

N82 Back Camera Problem

Hi guys, my phone is about just a month old. Usually to turn on the back camera I just flip the shutter switch.

However right now it no longer responds. I can still "activate" the back camera by using the pre-installed application called Panoman.

Is there some setting I accidentally activated to cause this? Or is this possible a hardware problem? I've done a factory reset already.

Okay, this is weird. The back camera works randomly now. Sometimes I flip the shutter and... nothing happens.

Problem description:
Maybe it's just me, but be careful before buying this device - WAG54G2. (do not confuse with WAG54G)

I had a lot of problems with my old Linksys AM300, a pretty shitty modem. See this topic.

So I bought WAG54G2, a new Linksys all-in-one modem/wireless router a few weeks ago from Lowyat. I read about it in this The Star article.

The good thing is that the design is very sleek.

But I have faced frequent disconnections. Sometimes can't connect at all. I have yet to find the root cause.

Current Solution
I have replaced the modem with D-Link DSL-520B. I'm using it in bridged mode wth my old D-Link wireless router: DI-524

Conclusion
Don't buy old products (Linksys AM300) that have lots of reported problems.
Don't buy new products (Linksys WAG54G2) until they've been successfully tested in the market.
Avoid all-in-one solutions. Best to buy a Streamyx Certified Modem, like the DSL-520B.

For those of you who own any of the mentioned phones, are you satisfied with them? Any complaints so far? I'm considering buying a new phone (non-AP set), and I've shortlisted my choices to these 3.

The SE T700 is cheaper than the other 2, but the other 2 have better specs.
I'm a fan of N6220 classic candybar look, but N82 seems to have better specs.

Vitamin A and D Overdose

Just wanted to let you guys know that taking too much of a good thing can be a very bad thing. I got a bit too enthusiastic with my supplements, and began eating lots of raw fish. At first I felt my health and eyesight improving, so I started taking even more.

I began to become very itchy. I noticed my skin becoming very dry and itchy bumps would appear than disappear. At first I thought it was mosquitoes, or even bed bugs, but the itches would happen all over my body, anytime of the day. But especially anywhere there was an air-conditioner.

I began to suspect it was too much intake of Vitamin A and/or D. I was probably taking like more than 300% of the RDA (recommended daily allowance) for both vitamins. A little research on the internet says that excess Vitamin A and D can become toxic, cause dehydration and turn your skin dry and itchy.

So I began cutting my intake of raw fish and spread my supplements over different days. The itchiness and dry skin began to disappear after that. But I have a lot of scars still healing from my scratching.

So let my pain be a warning to you guys, don't get go overboard with your supplements.

Farmhouse Omega Milk with DHA

Anybody else noticed that Farmhouse house recently released a new type of milk?
I've seen it in Jusco Mid-Valley (sold-out) and Bangsar Village's Village Grocer (just got stock).

Reading the labels it says it's good for your heart, contains omega fatty acids and DHA.

Michael Phelps, the most successful Olympiad has an incredible diet that seems to defy all those fad diets out there. It's full of carbs and calories.

Savings Taking a Hit

Anybody else here finding it increasingly harder to "pay yourself first"?

When I started out working, I found it rather easy to save. My rental was RM450 per month, but I didn't have streamyx, ate mamak food, and just spent most of my time in the office. I really didn't have much life.

Then after about half a year later, my lifestyle has changed a bit
- I now have streamyx
- Rental increased to RM500 per month
- I buy health supplements, eat as much fruits and vegetables as possible. Trying to avoid cheap mamak food and eating better quality food.
- Buy more clothes (today I bought RM100 worth of clothes)
- I buy more novels and books (each one at least RM35)
- Watch more movies at the cinema (even though I still download some old ones via BitTorrent)

The prices of many things have also increased in the past year.

So last time I could "pay myself first" about 1500 per month. But nowadays, even though I set that amount aside at first, it's becoming harder, and I tend to withdraw some more from ATM machines, so right now it's only about RM1000 per month.

Just wondering if anybody else faced similar problems of diminishing savings rate?

Burn Fat Fast - Using 4 Minutes Per Day Only

Just want to inform you of an experiment I've been trying out to lose weight. I recently came across something called Tabata Intervals. Go to Google and look it up.

Basically it's a very simple exercise routine

1. Do any exercise you want, but do it to the extreme (your maximum capability) for 20 seconds.
2. Rest for 10 seconds.
3. Repeat.

Perform the above steps 8 times for a total time of about 4 minutes.

What are the benefits? According to this site,

But I'm trying to save and invest in other things, and my current occupation doesn't require me to have a car....

Using CIMB ATM Card Overseas

Anybody here use CIMB ATM card? Recently I noticed that CIMB's ATMs have a notice on top of them, which basically states that now you can use the card overseas. But you have to first call their call center to activate the "overseas" flag.

So I just got off the phone with one of their operators, and now have my card activated. I also asked the operator which ATMs overseas I can actually use. She said something about looking for a TIERS (or SEARS) logo? Does anybody know what that is?

P.S. If you want to activate the card, this is the following information you'll need to provide
- Full name as in IC
- ATM card number
- IC Number
- Passport Number
- Until when you want the overseas flag to be enabled
