Guys Issue 101

Looking at most of the thread started, there a little smell of self-sympathy (or ironically, none) hitting most of the guys here.

In general, sub-consciously most guy are talking about :

"how to get a girl"
"how to talk to a girl you like"
"i like her but she is dating someone else"
"if im fat, will she date me?"
"i like her but i have no money"
"she is hot, way out of my league"
"i cant live without her, help me move on"
"when will my true love come?"
"i have been single for 7 years, how to start dating?"
"help me with my esteem"

While I cant address all of the issue above, I would like to share some insight and experience growing up having the same feeling as all of the above issue.

Before we start, here is the reality. You can refute, disagree, mock or do whatever you like.

Learn the fact that man are often attracted to looks first before moving to emotional state while woman, tho they like the looks first (come one, secretly everyone is humping ryan gosling) they are more of a sucker to emotional thing.

So, where do we start? by understanding how does the world works.

1 - Mr Nice Guy Syndrome

A reknown psychologist has pin-point the problem with mr nice guy - covert contracts. The sub-concious contract inside each of these guy expecting a return whenever they are being nice.

"If I am a good guy, then everyone will love me and like me"
"If I meet other people’s needs without them having to ask, then they will meet my needs without me having to ask."
"If I do everything right, then I will have a smooth, problem-free life."

The problem with this is - approval-seeking behavior. You are expecting a nod from people around you in order to be liked. You want to fit in so bad that you think that as long as you offer your good deeds, people will acknowledge it as they will do the same. And this is bad, one because your happiness depends on what others think about you, two, you will forever be the safe net.

2 - Needy

Heres a problem, if you are only in the meeting/dating phase, why do you have to act like she is the best girl in the universe for you? Why do you have to feel insecure whenever she is meeting someone else? Its cliche but its like angling, the harder you pull your string, the easier the line will be broken. The other problem with guys is, they are too afraid to take the risk of letting go thus explain the need to do whatever it can to make her stay like flooding her with gift, with money, with 24/7 attention, in order words, you are putting her is a pedestal she dont deserve YET. Learn the pain and pleasure concept.

3 - Take everything personal

Another one worth looking it. You take everything (rejection, critique, advice) as a personal attack to you. If someone rejects you for a date, you start to wander inside your own mind : "I am ugly" , "I am poor", "I am fat" etc etc. Think it this way, people reject your approach, not you yourself.

4 - Passion

If i ask you now, what is your passion, what would you say? If you need to think about it, then sorry, you have no passion. And a passionless guy is a guy who cant date. Because you have no value to vouch for. All you do is sit there and cry about how the world is cruel and how love never strikes you.

5 - Self-Reject

If you yourself self rejects your very existence, how can you expect people to accept you. If you, in your very own self petty mind doesnt love yourself for who you are, how can people love you for who you are?

Self-rejection is the most common problem among us guy. We raised the white flag before we even try. In our twisted head, we often presume if we cant have it, why do we even try at the first place?

Summary, I dont claim myself to be love guru or relationship master but things are easy when you want it to be easy. Your view one love is pretty much too dramatical and very soap-opera-ish. My stance is simple, love (albeit true love) is made and created.

Skinny & Need Help

Hi.

Im 25, weight only around 48kg. And height is only 163cm.

I need help. Im contemplating to go to all those fitness center as im ashamed that im gonna get a laugh. Yeah, what is dat skinny guy doin here? Trying to buff up?

But i seriously need to gain weight and maybe buffing up a little.

I just dont know where to start, where to go, what to do. Tried to google.. all they advised is carb up, put more calories etc etc. Just making me confused.

So, in english, point me please in the right direction. Or maybe, if theres anyone near me that can be my guidance. Btw, i live in mont kiara.

Realistic Vs Optimistic

Now.

I've been wondering a lot.

And most of the people i talked to accusing me of being so robotic and emotionless. But im hardly like that, I always say that im just being realistic.

I am that kind of guy who does not really believe that with Love alone can make a happy home. C'mon, we live in a very materialistic world.
Yes, money might not be everything but everything needs money. Having said that doesnt mean that i only believe that with loads of money will really make you happy.
Its about balancing both.

E.g

A : Rich. He got a gf. Both are very happy in the beginning. Lavish lifestyle, they love each other so much but one day. The guy's luck is up. He went bankrupt or etc etc. No more dining out. No more pampering. No more living in a fast lane. The girl is shocked, but she only knew the guy when he is rich. She cant cope. Having to taste being by his side when he doesnt have anything hit her hard. In the end, they blame each other a lot.

B : Poor. He got a gf. Both of them very sure that they can try actually change their life one day. But, the it never came. The are still "kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang". In the long run, the fought a lot. Because both cant satisfy each other anymore.

See?

Reality does hit you even when you're trying to be optimistic.

I have a headache.

I wanted to buy a laptop but really cant decide.

Im on a budget of 2500.

Im looking for someting dat runs not higly crazy games. But at least let me play spore without lagging.

1. Which will perform better? and cost lesser. AMD Turion X2 or Core 2 Duo? I read somewhere that AMD is not as great compared to intel however it cost lesser and should be worth for the price.

2. Is it make any different if i try to dedicate 1gb ram to graphic card (default integrated g/card - let say ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics )

3. Or should i upgrade it to something else. Do suggest.
