how to start?

currently i just got a title for my fyp. i am doing soccer strategy and statistic analysis. My supervisor asked me to look into data warehouse + data mining. I learnt ERD + SQL queries last year and i do not have any knowledge on data warehouse + data mining.

from wat i understand.. data warehouse's data cannot be modified and it gets data from different supplier. Now i need to get football/soccer statistic from different source.

i have 3 questions:
1) How to get data from different source(xml??)
2)can i do data mining on my data in ERD?
3)how to start data warehouse + data mining?

any comments/ inputs from you are appreciated.

Software Engineering(FYP TITLE CONFIRMED)

Currently i am doing software engineering degree in college and i am given some time to think about project title. I need some advise from those who already completed their degree or u guys have good idea to share. Any interesting projects or problems that i should solve in the real world?

I wanna to avoid these following titles:
-Reservation system
-Online ticketing
-Online cinema
-Online Purchase system
-or any linear projects which onli requires me to add/edit/update/delete.

I already seek my supervisor and she said i need to produce something special in order to get 1st class.

I need some advises and any list of titles that i should look at.

I don mind learning new programming language if i have to...

can JAVA draw out 3D cake for me? coz i find VB easier to do but I already submitted my proposal long time ago. It has to be done using java coz i onli can code using VB.NET, JAVA, C++. coz onli have a few more weeks to produce a functional prototype...

my application is something like the pictures shown below

Step 1
Provide user... personal customized cake application

is there any software or configuration or software to limit each pc internet bandwidth ? coz my mom always watch video streaming videos. i have lagging problem when playing some online games. currently using 2mbps and i wish to limit my mom's bandwidth. how? any methods?

current i am doing managing tour assignment. Using ASP.net and the lang is visual basic

size of object for inheritance class different

Admin is a Person(is-a-relationship). Person is my abstract class(base class) and admin is my derived class. Admin inherits from Person class.

i checked the sizeOf(Admin) b4 storing the object into file. The size b4 storing is 332. After storing into file, it becomes 333.

I am able to search 1st object and able to display details for that object. But i cannot display details after 1st object.

After years of hints and tech-demo teases, the Crysis series is finally headed to consoles. This morning, Electronic Arts and German developer Crytek announced the development of Crysis 2 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game will be the first console title that the notoriously PC-centric studio will develop directly for consoles, having let Ubisoft develop the console spin-offs for its groundbreaking 2004 first-person shooter Far Cry. Ubisoft bought the Far Cry IP outright in 2006. No release date was given.

"The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio," said Crytek CEO and President Cevat Yerli in a statement. "This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it's the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryEngine 3." In March, the CryEngine3 was shown off on the 360 and PS3 to Game Developers Conference attendees.

As part of today's announcement, EA and Crytek also announced that they were extending their strategic partnership forged in 2004. The deal came shortly after Far Cry became both a critical and commercial hit on the PC for Ubisoft, which EA still owns one fifth of. The deal is part of the EA Partners program, which lets developers pick and choose marketing, sales, and development-support services from the megapublisher. Current EA Partners and games include Harmonix (Rock Band), Valve (The Orange Box and Left 4 Dead), Grasshopper Manufacture (Unnamed PC/PS3/360/Wii project), and Epic Games (Untitled People Can Fly Project).
