Open pinned "where is my thread" thread

I would like to suggest for there to be a pinned thread where everyone who find their thread missing can go to and post. On the first post we can put the basic rules that get broken (e.g. fakes, copyright infringement, MLM, drugs) for those who never bother reading the Tradezone RnR.

That way, the main forum won't get spammed with threads users open to ask what happened to their threads, to only get the needed 1 reply (usually) then nothing else. Users following that can also use that thread as an alternate to reading the FAQ (though why I don't know. Lazy bums)

I've tried using the member search function to find user K&NK&N, but no results is shown.

Is it because it's only 3 characters, or a glitch in the system? Is there a way to go around this issue?

Where to get lighting for light tent

I'm not some pro photographer, just wanted a setup to make taking photos of my accessories for sale easier.

Using a light tent on its own is pretty good enough for me during sunny days, but my room (where I do most of my photography) isn't that bright most of the time hence my search for cheap lighting that can brighten my light tent enough, plus be compact enough for me to stow away without my parents nagging me about my <s>store</s>room.

I've tried taobao (most come without bulb or with a light tent as well, or are more pro lightings so expensive), ebay (same as taobao, but even more expensive) and also LYN (lagi then expensive. Why no one cater for the likes of me one T.T). Haven't really gone looking at physical places yet as I'm pretty much home bound.

Things I need help with:
1) What sort of lighting would be sufficient for my case (lumen/wattage wise)? FYI my light tent is only 40cm x 40cm
2) Any recommendations on where I can find those lights/lamps? Would prefer something that can be folded up, stand on its own and have a swivel-able head so I can arrange where to bounce the light to/from
3) Would getting a couple of normal barrel torch lights work?

Thank you sifus!

loading time out

When I am surfing around LYN, I will get time outs every now and then (as in the "loaded" page is blank, no error msg). Happens at random times and areas, doesn't matter if I was loading a thread, forum, posting/editing post etc.

This doesn't happen to me at any other sites, and I've cleared all my history but the problem still exists. Is it my connection that's bonkers or something on with the server or something?

further details:
before this started happening, if I hit the Back button I will still get my most updated changes saved, but now it doesn't. I have not made any changes to my PC settings, but have been using https for LYN. Not sure if this helps.

updated details:
I'm using Firefox on a PC with Streamyx. If anyone is facing the same problem/have the same specs as I do but not facing problems please post here, thankies!

Gathering info like:
1. Browser
2. Time
3. ISP
4. scheme(http/https)
5. When did you start encountering this
6. Where is your location / area

Issue with cookie

I am constantly logged in to LYN, but if I access LYN through a link (e.g. through the email notification) the the loaded page won't recognize the cookie or something, and I will need to log in again for that page. I've tried logging out then logging back in, have a logged in tab open simultaneously and so on, but problem is still there.

Am not sure whether it's a bug, or possibly something wrong on my side (since I can't find another thread with the same problem). Any solutions?

Before new members can make their first post on any forum, have them answer a random set of questions on that specific forum rules first.

This will ensure no one can use the "I didn't know" or "I didn't understand" excuses again.

Also, how about translating the rules to other languages as well? The excuse "My English not good, I don't understand" is also overused.

[wta] Legal issues

I organize sprees, and there's this buyer who has paid RM800ish as deposit for her items that totals to about RM1100 including postage.

the thing is, all her items have already arrived ages ago.

Before items arrived (when spree still open): Buyer reply emails within 24 hours, sometimes within 12 hours.
Day 0: I email Buyer to tell her that her items arrive and i need the final payment before delivering. That time I was giving her free postage.
Day 6: Now only Buyer replied, and she said internet connection got problem, but will pay soon. Fine la, I mean, normal la right internet problem? Buyer asked for my hp no so she can contact me (since her Net connection not good) and I emailed + SMSed it to her. No reply.
Day 14: Still no money, no reply, nothing. Emailed and SMSed her to remind her so many times but no reply. All my calls either no1 answer or busy tone sent to me (I know she sent me busy tone coz ring first few times then busy tone).
Day 32: Buyer sent me SMS, said she "forgot" and will bank in to me within a week coz now no money. I said fine.
Day 44: Still no money received. I've sent her so many SMSes to remind her before, but this day only the Buyer SMS me and said she needs more time. I got impatient and told her to set a deadline for herself, and she said 1 week. So I have her 2 weeks just in case. I told her if I didn't get the money by then then her deposit forfeit d.

I gave up, took it as Buyer dowan her stuff d, and took photos and everything, preparing to sell it.

Day 82: Buyer SMS me at 3AM, saying she forgot AGAIN, that she remembered only when she checked her email (as if I didn't send her 598237954862385623 SMSes). So I gave her until 10PM of Day 84 to pay me the balance + postage fee + couple of RM for my SMS cost (just to round everything up)

Today is Day 82 d, and at 10.40PM I SMS her telling her that I am going to check my account at 11PM, if no money then she really burn her deposit d.

At 11:03PM she SMS me saying she needs a few more days. I replied scolding her how come she never told me BEFORE the deadlines that she need more time? (She always after deadline only she contact me), and how come she never contact me or reply my SMSes. Buyer reply that she FORGOT. Then she said she won't do it again, coz she dowan to burn her deposit. She said she will pay me by this week.

I ended up giving her a final final deadline, and told her that that SMS is the last I am going to send her. If she don't pay then too bad.

So the thing is, I want to know. If I really burn her deposit, can she take legal action against me?

I've kept the last SMSes, the one where she request for extension and all that.

P/S: This is outside LYN one, but I really need people's opinion (preferably those who know the Law well). Will remove this thread if I am not allowed to have this here. Thanks.

[wta] Registering e-business

Referring to an article by The Star (http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2010/7/21/nation/6703388&sec=nation) they wrote that

QUOTE

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has taken legal action against 400 local online e-business operators in the last two years for not registering as business entities.

Malaysia Business Ethics Institute (MBEI) chairman Dr Zainal Abidin Abdul Majid, said most of the operators were charged under Section 12(1)(a) of the Business Registration Act where they face up to 12 years in jail or a fine of up to RM50,000.

So does that mean all of us traders here, as well as the 213484321432145327503275 blogshop owners need to register their business? I tried looking for more info on the SSM website but all I found were directions on how to register, rather than on who needs/does not need to register.

Can anyone give more details on this issue please? If it's an opinion please state that it's your opinion, but if you are giving facts could you please state that it's facts, and preferably include some sites I can go to to read up on this?

Closed because there's another similar thread. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1497139

[wts] Packaging Material: Ziplock, courier bags

All bags are crystal clear and of good quality.
Bulk sale is also available for either >600 pieces mixed or >400 pieces of the same size
- zip lock bags (minimum 100 bags per size)
- resealable self adhesive flap bags (minimum 200 bags per size)
Price stated excludes postage unless there is a promotion stated.
Promotions are not available for swappers.
<s>Self Pickup is available for certain areas (Equine Park, KLCC and LRT stations).</s> Not available atm
Leave msg on the tread for inquiries. All PMs will be ignored.
Note that there might be +/- a few pieces in each pack, as my supplier measures them by weight instead of counting them out. If there are extras, take them as FOC but if there are missing pieces I will return the cost of them. E.g You bought 100 pieces of the 1.75" x 2.5" Zip Lock, and 3 missing, so I will return RM9/100*3 = RM0.27 = RM0.30 in the parcel. I will round up/down like what happens at the counters, so 1/2 sen = 0, 3/4 sen = 5 sen and so on.

Zip Lock:

Perfect for keeping your crafting stuff like beads and scrap paper, or makeup such as loose pigments. If you're an outdoor-sy gal, zip lock bags are great for waterproofing! Traveling via flights and afraid your bottles will leak due to pressure? Put them in a zip lock bag and not only will you save your clothes from getting wet, you will also be able to reuse the liquid/cream since it'll be safely contained inside the zip lock bag!

Please note that measurements are of the USABLE parts, as in the pocket that is sealed, excluding the open bit above the zip. If you need clarification, ask first. No refunds/returns will be given for wrongly ordered items.

1.75" x 2.5" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM5
100 pieces = RM9
200 pieces = RM15

2" x 3" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM5
100 pieces = RM9
200 pieces = RM15

2.5" x 3.5" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM5
100 pieces = RM9
200 pieces = RM15

3" x 4" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM7
100 pieces = RM13
200 pieces = RM21

3" x 5" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM7
100 pieces = RM13
200 pieces = RM21

4" x 6" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM15
100 pieces = RM25
200 pieces = RM45

5" x 8" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM18
100 pieces = RM26
200 pieces = RM44

7" x 10" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM20
100 pieces = RM28
200 pieces = RM46

9" x 14" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM27
100 pieces = RM40
200 pieces = RM63

10" x 16" Zip Lock:
50 pieces = RM32
100 pieces = RM46
200 pieces = RM72

Grey No-brand Courier Flyer Plastic Bags

20CM x 29cm (+5cm flap): RM0.22 a piece (Approx 40 reserved)
28cm x 37cm (+5cm flap): RM0.25 a piece (approx 40 reserved)
Limited amounts available, would prefer to sell in increments of 10.
These are thicker than the Pos Laju ones, the same/slightly thicker than Skynet's.
I would be able to restock these in various sizes, though it would take about a month or so to order =/

Fragile stickers

RM0.10 each sticker.
8CM wide, 9CM tall each sticker.
Comes in a sheet of 6 stickers, so for those less than 6 I will cut out.

Bubble wrap.

Less than 5meters: RM7/meter
6-15meters: RM6/meter
More than 15meters: RM5.50/meter
Approximately 1 meter wide. So that users won't accidentally report the same case twice, or different users won't report the same problem twice?

Just found out wth is BB cream, but after reading so many reviews I still don't know which brand I should try. So far I think the best ones are the Dodo Palgantong, Skin Food or Elianto's Aloe correct?

Are there others which are better?

I'm still studying, so need to see my budget also. Stress doesn't help with my skin either.

My skin is normal to fair tone, very obvious pores, no wrinkles. I also have problems with blackheads and whiteheads, and sometimes get pimples too.

So many shops are selling stick on bras like freebra, nubra, even unbra

Do they really work like real bras and provide support, or is it more like nipple pads only?

It's impossible for me to find a strapless bra my size that fits nicely, so I'm considering getting a freebra, but of course I don't want to waste money if it doesn't give support. I rather go braless lo then.

What speakers and monitor to get?

My 6 yo Samsung monitor's dying on me (the screen is black as I'm typing this), so I'm planning to get a replacement ASAP. The thing is, I'm on a tight budget but still want something that can last me at least as long as my current monitor.
Not that much of a gamer or movie watcher, more of a "abit of everything" gal, so I think a 15 or 17 inch monitor is enough for me.
What's the price like for such LCD monitors nowadays, and what brand's good?

As for a new sound system, I love my bass but again, no budget for a woofer. Will also need to get a new system soon (using my earphones now. So sad right?) Any recommendations on what brand or model to get? Sound clarity is #1 for me coz I won't be blasting music that often, just for my bedroom enough d. Is Creative still producing good stuff? Using their earphones now, and loving them.

Also right, are the shops in Lowyat usually open right after CNY, as in from the third day onwards? My budget can go higher a little then. Would love to spend less than 1k for a monitor and sound system (plus mouse and USB hub also if possible)., but 1k enough kah?
