Question about monitors.

Simple question, would a larger monitor require a better graphic card? I am currently using a Mobility Radeon ATI X600 with 128 MB shared memory. From the name of the graphic card itself, im guessing most of you guys know im using a notebook.

Yes, I am using a notebook with a 15.1" widescreen LCD monitor and I want to upgrade the monitor size to at least a 19" or 20.1" widescreen LCD external monitor, and I do not want to dive right into buying a monitor without knowing my graphic cards limits. Hence my question above.

I would also appreciate it if someone would come up with guidelines into buying a LCD monitor, because I am really a novice in picking one. I've read some reviews and it suggests that the safest way to go is with a Samsung, but I don't want to blow so much money on just the brand of the LCD. I'd prefer something cheaper but almost at par.

Please do help me out, and thank you.
