Shops for upgrades and repaste

Are there any shops in Klang Valley or Low Yat that can open up the notebook for upgrade jobs or repasting of the thermal compound? Without voiding warranty of course. Or only back to the original brand dealer/service center?

Dell Vostro hang and auto restart

Have a Dell Vostro 1400 that's 2.5 years old.

Just recently, the notebook hangs with the display getting corrupted screen. Occasionally, the screen gets corrupted and it auto starts. But when it auto starts, the display is on but nothing shows up.

Suspect the display or the graphics card is kaput but sometimes it'll be ok (screen ok, windows starts ok).

That was a couple of days back.

More recently, it just fails to start (or rather the screen is not showing anything) but there is HDD activity. Sometimes can hear windows starting up but no display.

Sounds like hardware problem. But when I do get to see the screen, restarting the notebook to safe mode, there is no screen corruption.

So it's really confusing. Hardware or software problem. I'm suspecting it's more of a hardware issue.

Any ideas?
Hi folks,

I need help in locating shops to do media migration from DV tapes to CD/DVDs. Any out there? I used to go to this shop at Summit USJ but it doesn't seems to be opened any more. Any more out there?

Thanks.
