i7 idle at 40 to 55 Celcius

my idle cpu temp is between 40 to 58 C. i am using thermaltake water 2.0 for 4 to 5 years already.

yesterday i have cleaned the thermaltake entirely, i.e. brush off all the dust from the fans, cooling filters, etc etc ... clean the cpu, reapply the paste (using arctic cooling paste)

but to no avail, the idle temp is still that ... wondering whether replacing the cooler entirely would help in this case? whats the lifespan of such liquid cooler?

i overclocking my cpu to 4.2 GHz btw... while playing games the temp can go up to 98 c max for a short period of time.

external sound card

i have been using this in-build realtek sound card so far, and am looking for an external sound card as my headphone cable length is too short...

with that, am looking at a few external sound cards, please provide advice which one to get or any other recommendation:

1. ASUS XONAR U3 USB EXTERNAL SOUND CARD --> expensive but very old, not supporting 7.1
2. PLEXTONE GS3 Sound Card Virtual 7.1 Channel Adapter External USB Sound Card 3.5mm Headset Converter Stereo --> some bad reviews on amazon website

budget is roughly 100 to 200. normally using it for games and movies not music.

monitor surface scar

dear all, need some advice here, my monitor has a scar on its surface, its an irremovable bump. no matter what alcohol swab, stickers etc that i applied on it, it just won't be removed.

is there any other way to safely clear out that dot? its not a dead pixel and there isn't any rainbow observed around it, so i believe its just the surface.

anything that i can use to remove it?

recently i have been running on the treadmill 3 times a week and every time for 30 minutes. i would be going about 8.8kmh for about 10 minutes, then 1 minute sprint at 13 kmh, then back to 8.8 kmh again.

doing that and now i have a swollen knee cap that i need to take pain killers, Glucosamine ... doctor advice me that its due to the impact that i get from running. and he also told me it would be worst running on the road as the surface is much harder than the treadmill.

hence, i would like to know what is the best and safe methods to have a good run without injuring my knees ...

my running shoe brand is brooks, and would a knee guard help in this case?

i do cycling in the gym too but it just doesn't use that much calories compare to running, so tolong tolong

USB 3.0 transfer speed

recently just bought a laptop dell

its mentioned in the product catalog details that this model has 2 USB 3.0, but when i tried transferring files from this laptop to USB drives, the speed is not even reaching 100 MBps ... just hovering around 50 ...

appreciate some help here, is it some driver that i need? or some bios settings??

anyone here has philips UHD TV PUT6800S? whats ur review for this TV?

there are comments that this tv is so much better than samsung and sony's UHD tv. especially on the refresh rate, philips is the best.

i am into refresh rates as fast action movies will have judders for most UHD TVs. is there any other brand that has the same refresh rate as this TV? please recommend.

Help with eq settings on phone

Just please help on tuning my eq. I am listening to mostly metal, rock, techno songs. I want to know whether whatvis the best eq for this genre. The current settings tht i have has muffling bass. I prefer to have a more clean and solid bass drum kick settings. And not losing too much of the low, mid bass u know when skrillex drop the bass... attached my current settings for eq. TQ
