Maxis notifyme service will charge all

Maxis is trying to milk what I term as micro charges.
I am quite sure this is not their first attempt at this lowly tactic.

If you have received any SMS about notifyme service; you'd hv not recalled subscribing this service in the first place.

Well I called the help center and told them to cancel it, but they said "cannot" and that I have to send sms "stop" something.. something.
I told the consultant girl, "no-go" since the last I remember trying to do this was almost next to impossible!
Since I did not subscribe to this but it was done for me by them, they should waste their time and do it themselves.

Maxis is shameless in trying to get these types of micro-fees!!!

If any of you are in this soup, rest assured the charges will begin once the 'trial" period expires, for me 28FEB.
Pls pass this message on to other maxis subscribers who value their few cents and would not want to be "milked" by an already rich corporation.

I know some of you will say "simply sms the stop signal" but the principle here is "why should I" when I did not ask for it in the first place.
I have learned NOT to respond to any sms marketing messages whether from maxis or any other sms number.
The last experiences in trying to "unsubscribe" ended with me concluding they MAKE it impossible for you to unsubscribe.

I told her to make a case so I can take it up with someone.
Let's see what they make out of the case that has been raised.

EAGET M6 - Unofficial Owners Thread

Hi Folks,
I finally got my EAGET M6 model.
So far works beautifully.

The reason I am starting this special thread is to get others to share their experiences with this unit.
It is truly an amazing piece of gadget that simplifies home entertainment watching off a HDD and more.

The setup for me is simple:

42" Philips 42PFL3605S/98 Full HD 1080p
No sound system yet - using TV sound until get proper sound syustem
HDMI connected from M6
2TB SATA CAVIAR GREEN HDD

[addedon]January 3, 2011, 2:40 pm[/addedon]I played with the settings and found that if you accidentally set the settings Setup>TV System>

to 1080i 60Hz the TV screen shows an unsupported video mode message.
I looked for how to reset the unit and somehow got it to work again. Not too sure how that happens, but did after few on/off button pressing etc.

I suggest if you are not sure, simply set to HDMI AUTO settings which works fine for me.

iPhone 2G in Maxis

I am wondering if any of you are having issues with MAXIS suddenly activating GPRS automatically.

This happened to me some three weeks back when I noticed an unfamiliar icon, the square blue icon, next to the carrier icon. It proved to be an automatically activated GPRS service by MAXIS. I had specifically not activated any of these features due to obviously unattractive rates. I only use the wifi portion.

Promptly called 123, the staff insisted I had activated this feature by calling *100# but I denied this was not the case.
She deactivated the service with a promise to review once billing came out. She promptly called me to inform the GPRS data charges would be canceled out since they actually came in. Ok problem solved.

Once again the same thing happened. This time, I got a sms from 2002 notifying me they had happily activated the service. Once again, a call to 123, this time the agent denied my line had GPRS activated. So here I was trying to tell the guy the blue icon on my phone said GPRS had in fact been activated! Finally warned them there better not be any GPRS charges on the bill.

Anyone with this issue?
Seems like MAXIS is out for some booby-trap fee charging to unsuspecting users.
I would not mind if the services came at nominal monthly rates, but RM99 unlimited is too much for such a service.
Moreover MAXIS is GPRS, no EDGE. Even then, a data package should cost no more than RM20/mo IMO.
