Laptop unable to turn on

I have a HP laptop with ATI graphic. it is only less than 2 years and now no display on the screen but the fan is running.

SOme service centre in lowyat claimed that the graphic is faulty and repair cost a few hundreds.

Please advice

Video cause 100% cpu usage

Dear bro and sis,

I faced some prob on my desktop. Whenever i play video, no matter with window media player classic, vlc, klite, window media player, or (whatever player) the video will lag. It lag by every 2second or 3second interval. Sometimes, the sound comes first before the motion. It is like show the video in frame rather than watching a smooth video.

This also happen in mozilla / IE / google chrome when i watch youtube or facebook video and webcam on MSN. Totally lag like hell

The normal cpu usage is only 2% - 5%. Once there is video, it boost to 100% straight line until i off the cideo

My computer spec:
P4 2.0Ghz
1.5GB ram
biostar board (taiwan. cannot find socket 478 board anymore now)
Nvidia FX5200
Maxtor 80GB HDD
DVD-RW
500W power supply
and I added 3X 8cm small fan on the casing

I had use on board VGA / used Nvidia FX5200 / used ATI Radeon 9250 / change hard disk / use only 1 slot of RAM / use only 1GB ram / use only 512MB ram / used windows 7 / used window XP sp2 / used window XP sp3 / updated all video driver / format the computer so many times /

the problem still occur. The same video i run with P3 computer with only 256MB ram and is running fine. I don't think a P4 will lose to P3, rite?

Coming on the idea to get a phone with digi data plan (RM68 per month)

Now digi come with a new phone, htc aria... i need some recommendation on pros and cons of all phone offered by digi. Iphone is a no no as it is too expensive.

Can sifus here guide me on their professional idea which phone offered by digi is better ?

I lepak around lowyat for 1 whole day today to look for a laptop. But i see so many laptop which i seem. Forumer here plz help me decide plz.

1. Acer Aspire 4736G
-C2D T6600, 14", Nvidia G105 512MB, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, win 7 64bit, 3yrs warranty = RM2399.
but i see a lot forumer here in other thread say acer not good

2. Asus K401N
-C2D P7350, 14", Nvidia G102 512MB, 4GB DDR2, 320GB HDD, win vista, 2 yrs international warranty = RM2899
but this laptop no build in bluetooth?? in da 21st century no bluetooth?

3. Toshiba Satellite L510-S4313
-C2D T6600, 14", ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 up to 1278MB total available graphics (ext 512MBVRAM), 2GB DDR3, 320GB HDD, win vista/win 7, 2yrs warranty = RM2799
but the sound quality super poor. Very very poor. OMG

4. HP Pavilion dv3-2111tx
-C2D P7350, 13.3", Nvidia Geforce G105M with 512MB, 2GB DDR2, 320GB HDD, window vista, 3yrs warranty = RM2849
but will 13.3" too small for average user? I'm a bit of everything

My old modem is Aztech DSL 605EW. Now the new modem i bought also Aztech DSL 605EW.

But, the old box is written 26Mbps ADSL 2/2, 125Mbps Wireless

The new one is 25Mbps ADSL /2, 125Mbps Wireless

WHy new modem is slower than old modem?

hard disk suddenly empty

Today when i click my D drive, it wrote

"The drive is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"

I still using the file inside last week. My C drive is ok, working normally.

When i check the properties, the used space is 0byte and the free space also 0 byte.

Super important data is inside the drive.

Please help to retrieve data.. please please

I'l plan to get a laptop this coming PC fair.

I heard n my coll that ASUS is good with good price. LAst time used to be acer, now ASUS beaten the student's market. Is it true? Can recommend any model?

The normal model not too expensive will do, but not too low end. Recomended for a student for final project and gonna graduate and explore the working world.

I just bought a 2nd hand proton wira. service accordingly. tire pressure normal.

the problem is the fc very high. RM50 can oni carry me 220 -240km(max, dangerous state). RM30 carry me 97 km only. According to the workshop, he claimed it is high. he did the tuning and change spark plugs for me. (i oledi went to 2 workshop which did the same thing). The outcome still same. Is it normal for my model to be in this way?

No modification, latest mileage 110,XXXKM, average speed 80-100km/h, petrol used = shell

hard disk problem

Recently, i bought a 2nd hand IDE hard disk from my friend. When i put the hard disk as slave, it cannot detect both my primary hard disk. Only the new hard disk appear at my bios. I got set the jumper correctly. Anyone can tell me what happen?

Need help desperately....

My computer's monitor menu keep appearing. The menu button whn i press, nothing happened. But the menu bar is there blocking partly view of my computer screen.

Is this means my monitor spoilt?

Any way to repair? cost? Recommended place to repair?

I am using Philips CRT monitor
