Dr. Natalie (Ms. Nat) poses a PhD. in (Children Music Psychology) and Master in Music Teaching (M.Mus) Teaching. She has been in the Music teaching line for more than 13 Years and has taught in various FAMOUS Music Schools &... Well Known Pre-Schools. Currently she is the KL Representative of City International University for Teachers/students that wishes to Further their ...MUSIC studies to Degree or Master.

She has passion in teaching children, that's why she took up her PhD & M.MUS, and do hope to understand and to conduct her classes more efficiently. She has conducted PIANO, VIOLIN, VOCAL/Singing, BABY & TODDLER Music, Music & Movement and also Speech & Drama! To children as young as 6 mth Old! She feels that teaching is very interesting as she gets to know and understands her students from the inside world as what they like / dislike and also what they feel through Music and Art that they does.

She had taught many “SPECIAL” students, such as Autism, Hyper Active … Which has now develop to be a wonderful, hardworking and independent student. Due to her passion in Music, She brought in & Altered the “MUSICAL-ARTt” Program to suite different level of students. She undergoes many courses and workshops to keep her up to date always.

What is Speech and Drama?
Speech is communicating with one another and Drama is choosing an interesting way to express it. Fear of speaking in public or socializing with peers is not uncommon for children. They are anxious, afraid of being ridiculed or being the centre of attention. The truth is, these fears will stay and develop in children, long into adulthood – if not challenged.

Speech and Drama builds or develops - Confidence, Self-Esteem, Social Skills and Conversational Ability. It also teaches empathy. It provides opportunities for children to experience the world from perspectives outside their own.

Speech and Drama lessons are not just meant for reserved children but for the exuberant ones too. Drama is a wonderful way through which they can channel their energies to find innovative methods of creating and expressing!

The benefits of speech and drama are obvious. Children become self-confident and at the same time become good communicators! We believe that children should and have the right to be children. Speech and Drama definitely gives them the opportunity to have fun, all well-disguised of course!

How we deliver?
Children are free to express themselves through all speech and drama activities. We encourage our children to do the talking because through words and actions, they build self-confidence. As they become more confident and exposed, they want to learn more.

We further encourage their imagination by playing ‘dress-up’ where the children experiment with and act as the characters they are learning about. In this way they learn how to characterize and dramatize. They become willing performers! They willingly ‘Step out of the Box!’

Teaching through poetry, rhymes, prose and dramatization of storytelling, motivating them to participate. This fun and interactive way of learning further helps children overcome their shyness, stretch their imagination and gain the ability to articulate, express, present and perform the English Language.

For the Teacher!
Teachers will find the requisites of a system of training for their students through the Grades to the Diploma levels. The aim is to encourage personal development in music, speech, drama, theater arts and performance in each individual. It is the wish of the MAPLE to help teachers and their students in the development of their skills, acquisition of knowledge and enhanced self-confidence according to age and experience, not to discourage and set impossible or unrealistic standards.

The IMEB was formed in response to many requests from music,
speech and drama teachers looking for an alternative examination
system. The examinations are more flexible and ‘user friendly’ than
some other examinations. All examiners are highly qualified and
experienced teachers and therefore have a good understanding of
the problems faced by both teachers and students. The philosophy is
one of ‘encouragement’.
