Malaysia-Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL)

JOHOR BARU: Malaysia and Singapore will reopen their mutual border after more than a year with a special Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Changi Airport from Nov 29.

"Given the significant progress that both countries have made in vaccinating their respective populations and managing the Covid-19 pandemic, the Prime Ministers agreed that it is timely to progressively resume cross-border travel between both countries, in a safe manner.

"Malaysia and Singapore will launch a VTL between Changi Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport from Nov 29," Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong said in a joint statement on Monday (Nov 8).

The statement said that Ismail Sabri and Lee Hsien Loong spoke over the phone on Monday.

The two Prime Ministers recognised that Covid-19 had disrupted people-to-people connections between the two countries and separated families for many months.

Under the VTL, fully-vaccinated travellers will be able to travel between Singapore and Malaysia, and be subjected to Covid-19 tests in lieu of serving quarantine or a stay-at-home Notice.

Hi experts,

First of all I have no experience at all in starting up a business in Malaysia. I have done some read up about how to setup and manage a private limited company (Sdn Bhd) in Malaysia. However I still have some questions that I couldn't find answers online.

To make long story short, I am going to inherit my father's business. Say the company is ABC Sdn. Bhd. Previously the company is owned by my father and a sleeping partner. My father owns majority of the shares, 90/10. THis ABC Sdn. Bhd. owns some properties including the shop lot that the office is residing, plus a couple of other properties for investment purposes and motor vehicles.

So now is the questions.

1) The current company's bank account is a joint name of my father and this sleeping partner. Say If my father is to transfer all his 90% share to me, technically can I say that I own 90% of the total company's net worth?

2) Can this sleeping partner claim more than 10% of the company's net worth?

3) If this sleeping partner agrees to transfer his share to me and we restructure the share, say father owns 51% and I own 49%. Can the bank account be easily transferred?

4) Is it possible to have a company owns by say person A and B, 51/49 share. But bank account is under Person A and C? (say if the sleeping partner does not agree to transfer the bank account.

Pardon me as the above questions may sound stupid to you. As I said I do not have any experience at all. Hope to get some advises from all the sifus in this forum.

Hi. My younger brother's wallet was stolen today. He's going to make a polis report later.

Does anyone know that does he needs to bring his parents or provide parents' IC in order to make polis report? Can I bring him? cause our parents are not in Malaysia.

After polis report is made, he needs to go JPN and apply new IC. Same thing, can he do it himself? or needs parents? How much do apply new IC? he is only 16.
