Looking for super overclock computer services

Hi,

I'm looking for someone that is willing to borrow PC services to run a set of my simulations. The software that I will be running is MATLAB ( I will provide the software if you have none). The simulation codes will be provided by me.

Currently my PC is running the simulation with the following spec:
Processor : Q9550 overclock to 3.70GHz
RAM : Kingston Performance RAM 1033 MHz

Simulation time for 2 sets is 5 days (~120 hours).

Preferably I'm looking for people who have core i7 or i5 with multiplier unlock, and overclock to 4 GHz. Minimum 4 GB of RAM.

Please take note that 1 simulation run on 4 cores and loads it up to 100%. If you running two it will be running 4 cores and 4 virtual cores.
You won't be able to use your PC during the simulation.

Need help to queue threads in JAVA

Hi I'm new JAVA and i'm running some con-current testing using multi threading.

I'm currently running 4 threads but i need to run 3 threads first follow by the last thread.

I tried lock and unlock but that will force each thread to run one after another. I tried semaphore but maybe I don't know how to use it.

Appreciate it if anyone could share some code example to perform the task (run 3 threads follow by the last thread)

Sad and in a dillemma story

Hi,

I have been a relationship with my gf for about 2 years already. i'm 26 and she is 25. Recently, I went to Singapore with her. A 4 days and 3 nights stay in Singapore. Unfortunately, she don't seem to be very happy about the trip in fact she finds it boring. Neither she appreciate the effort that I take to bring her to Singapore.

Some of you might ask the question "did you ask her whether she wants to go to Singapore and what she wants to do there?". In fact I did, Singapore was in fact her idea as well. About the things that she wants to do, she just say "anythingla...". Maybe I don't really understand her?

She is currently working as kindergarden teacher and playing in a band. Since she live in Melaka and I live in KL, most of the time we keep in touch with the phone. Sometimes I feel that I'm quite low in her priority, coz nowadays she only call me once a week and that will be only a 15 minutes talk. Last time, I complainned about this and she call me everyday but her tone is pretty unhappy and moody. In the end, I just say that call me when your free coz my thinking is if you feel like calling me with that tone better don't call.

Since she is a teacher and she is waiting for posting. She can be posted anyway round Malaysia. So I suggested to register after she is posted so that she can be transfer nearer to KL. Unfortunately, she is not very keen on getting marriage and she seems to want enjoy her life to the fullest. I did ask her to lecture English in college first to prevent posting to other places. But she seem to be very keen to go to ulu ulu places to work and see the life there.

In the end, I ask her what is her plan for the next 2 to 3 years down the road. Her answer is there no plan. Sigh....

I'm currently working with a salary about 4k while she is working in the kindergarden with salary about 1k. During her birthday or annivesarry, I will make something for her ( cross stitch with her name on it, a doll for her graduation, drawing, etc) which takes me a few weeks to few months to complete it. She on the other hand will just give me a (T-shirt, a pajamas, etc). I don't mind if the things that she gave me is cheap, but I would love to see the effort that she put in to see that she treasure our relationship.

Sigh....

By the end of the day the big question is whether do I love her? I say yes
But how much does she love me? That I dunno, and whether does she appreciate my affecionate towards her.

I guess there is lots and lots of issues. I need some advice from you guys, maybe some pointers on this matter.

P.S: I'm her 4th bf. Her previous bf break up with her with the reason that he felt that when he has her as gf, it feels like he has none. Maybe this is her character which I need to learn to accept?

How to access share folder in VB 6.0

Hi Guys,

I'm working on a project where i need to search a share folder in VB6.0

I able to write the code to access and search my own directory. But when I try the simillar way to access a share folder it did not work eg. \\link

how can i modify it to access a share folder

Searching a word in a string

Hi guys,

I'm require to filter the data from the file where it contains:

VERSION: 4
HEADER LENGTH: 5
TOTAL LENGTH: 64
SOURCE ADDRESS: 218.111.42.12
DESTINATION ADDRESS: 218.120.50.111

The data in the file is not in order. where the version may not be first or destination address is last.

I required to obtain the value from the file for version (4), header length (5), total length (64), source address(218.111.42.12) and destination address(218.120.50.111).

I tried transfering the file data into an array.
then I tried using strcmp but fail.

Any ideas how to do it?

Hi,

I'm writing a c program where it loads a text file process and write it into the text file. Problem is when I perform to file request and check the for loop is not working. It just skips the for loop. Any ideas guys?

Hi guys,

I want to know what is the meaning of this instruction:

MSComm1.Settings = "9600, N, 8, 1"

Is set communication port to 9600 baud rate with no parity bit (N). what is 8? and what is 1?

I'm trying to track down the data that is send by another communication port. The only thing that i know is the baud rate is 9600.

I would like to know what combination can I put.

Compressor to save petrol

Hi guys,

My friend just install a compressor onto the tube pumping air into the carburator.

He told me that the compressor will force more air into the carburator and hence less petrol is mix into the carburator. So definitely save petrol.

Is this true guys? Need some feedback

P.s I'm no car expert if my terms are wrong correct me

How to save picture using VB6

Need some help.

I need to capture the screen and automatically save it into a bmp file. The only command i know is:

Set Picture1.Picture = CaptureScreen()

but I don't want to output the picture instead i want to save the capturescreen say in c:\screen.bmp.

I need to save the text file with the name in a format of year and date.

Example:
0605290930.txt for 29 May 2006 9.30 am.

I only know how to save using

" open "c:variable.txt" for input as #2 "

I'm new here. I am doing a project for a GPS system using NMEA 0183 protocol and interfacing it using C++.
Got a few questions here:

1. Is there any library or plug-in that i require?

2. Can anyone help me, by giving me some examples of a GPS program running in C? I'm clueless here.
