PC can only on after 20mins

My PC recently got this problem. When not using, I off the power at the wall socket. When I switch on the wall socket and press PC power button, no reaction. I have to wait 15-20mins then only the PC can turn on.

After on, can use it with no problem.

PC spec: Old Silverstone DA600 PSU, 12400f, MSI Pro B660M, RX 6600XT, 32GB RAM, 2 x nvme.

Not expert but feels like a capacitor problem somewhere?

TNB Excel Spreadsheet for new Domestic Tariff

Thought I share this here. Hope someone finds it useful. Created on Excel 365 16.102 (macOS).

This is a TNB usage Excel Spreadsheet for old, new tariff non-ToU and ToU.
• table to enter your daily 30-min usage data
• it'll use the correct AFA for both months (hopefully)
• support for off-peak public holidays
• single cell formulas
• calculation may be off if used for less a full billing period (28, 30, 31 days)
• sometimes still off by 1 sen (rounding error somewhere)

Where to Enter your TNB CSV Data

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

TNB daily 30-min usage csv file can be downloaded from https://www.mytnb.com.my "View Energy Usage" link. Owner verified accounts only. Most frustrating Energy Dashboard.

Look in the "Table" sheet. There's a Table1 there already with 59 days of sample data. Delete those rows and paste your own from your CSVs. The table expects "Date , Time , kWh". Just those 3 columns of data. The rest are calculated.

The TNB csv is "Datetime , Peak_kWh , OffPeak_kWh , Total_kWh" (if already on ToU) or "Datetime , kWh , Total_kWh" (if on non-ToU)

Open the csv and split the Datetime to "Date , Time" manually or use Excel's Data -> Text-to-Columns and keep just the last Total_kWh.

After that can paste into that Table1 on the Table sheet.

*Can also use Excel's Power Query to import the csv. I just found out about this so haven't tried yet. This will be good if you have downloaded a folder full of CSVs from TNB. Excel Mac cannot import files from a folder without a VBA workaround.

Use Power Query to import usage.csv
So I tried Power Query to import from TNB's usage.csv. It works well. On the macOS, it can only import 1 file which is fine for daily incremental updates. On Windows, you can import a whole folder.

Features

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The Amber cells are for you to enter your data.
Lost MyKad. MyKasih gone?

Guys, <s>found a</s> lost MyKad, what to do? Will the person who find it send to polis station?

Good luck version
1. Send to balai
2. Feel good

Bad luck version
1. Check TNG, use until finished. Also can, if worth it, topup to get serial no, register at tngportal, try withdraw.
2. dl MyKasih & check balance, go KK, buy groceries.
2.1 If MyKasih not used, activate with PIN (printed on MyKad)
2.2 If activated or activated & PIN changed, insert MyKad, no need PIN. (Correct?)
2.3 If card not readable, ask for manual way with PIN.
2.4 If card not readable & PIN changed then JMP white hat version.
2.5 If cashier do KYC, run away. (or prepare MyKad doppleganger friend beforehand)
3. Feel paranoid bcos #hellopolis

Conversely, don't lose your MyKad at this point in time.

Tips
• Actually the post is more to highlight the security or lack thereof of the MyKasih thingy.
• Holding another person's MyKad is an offence though I used to do it for my son who was OKU.

DLink DIR-X3060Z
Oh. So. Free.

The X3060Z is one model of wifi routers that TM provides. Though lacking in features, it's not too shabby when it comes to wifi performace. It supports EasyMesh which allows APs from different manufacturers to mesh together.

If you're looking for speedtests, they're are in the 2nd post.

Closest model on DLink's website: DIR-X3000Z (https://www.dlink.com.my/product/ax3000-mesh-gigabit-wireless-router)
Manual: cannot find

TM's X3060Z brown box packaging.

App
DLink has a WiFi Connect app for the router but it's not working on IOS. I think Android is OK. The X3060Z should get an IP address from your main router.

The Internet Explorer LED (2nd from left) should become steady.

How to Prepare the main DLink DIR-X3060Z for EasyMesh (Optional)
This is optional. (doesn’t have to be the main DLink)

Wait until the 69 LED (3rd from left) is steady. Takes a few mins for both DLinks to connect.

Check status on EasyMesh page.

Retain cable for Wired Mesh.

Or remove cable for Wireless Mesh. Takes a few mins for both DLinks to reconnect.

Remember not to place it too far away.

Today I accidentally shared RM20 Hotlink credit to wrong number, off just by one digit. Want to press 6, press 3 pulak.

That was at 11am. Surely my RM20 gg. 2 hrs later, thought I'd give it a try to ask for the credit back so I WhatsApp the number.

I know it's only RM20 but still.

Thank you so much to whomever that was.
[Mikrotik Script] Namecheap Digitalocean DDNS Upd

Namecheap Dynamic DNS Update Script

This is a ROS 7 script (IIRC, the fetch command is bit different in ROS 6) which checks if the IP for an interface has changed, updates namecheap.com's dynamic DNS and also sends you an email and telegram about it.

As it turns out, it's also good for letting me know when electricity has been restored after a blackout or when the ISP comes back from an outage.

ROS now has /ip cloud with Mikrotik's own ddns. With this script and Namecheap, you can have a much cooler and shorter ddns domain. And also a backup in case /ip cloud is down which it does so occasionnaly.

The script was originally taken from the Mikrotik wiki for another ddns provider and then modified for Namecheap.

Email tool & Telegram bot needs to be setup beforehand. Just change the variables to yours. There's no error checking if the ddns update fails or sending email encounters an error.

Schedule this script to run every few minutes as you please. For pppoe, you can also run it from ppp profile up and down script.
[attachmentid=11467635]

Below is a snippet of code for updating Digitalocean's DNS using its API. You can use this instead of Namecheap in the script above or both simultaneously. Fingers crossed DO's DNS recordids are persistent.
[attachmentid=11467632]

Pasting the code directly is triggering something in Cloudflare hence the 2 attachments.

The script is also here in code blocks: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?p=533043

Is there a setting in Google Chrome to ignore the click when clicking on a unfocused window? As it is, I have to look for a blank part of the window just to focus a Chrome window. Or perhaps a system-wide setting? I'm using Windows 11.

Like how it is, for example, in Microsoft Excel. The first click just focuses the window and does nothing else.

Anyone know why I have 2 of those dotdotdot menus in Explorer. And how to get rid of the extra one.

The one on the left works as normal. The one on the right does nothing. It appeared 2-3 months ago, possibly after an update. IIRC it wasn't there when I first installed Win 11.

MikroTik RouterOS Unifi Setup Guide

New guide. Old one is here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4202122
I'm sure you all will let me know if got any mistakes.

First post is only using terminal and command line.
Second post is using Quickset and a bit of command line.

I'm lazy to put screenshots. Maybe later.

Winbox
I suggest using Winbox to configure your Mikrotik router. Download from https://mikrotik.com/download
You can also SSH to the router or use the web configuration page which has a terminal.

Defaults
IP: 192.168.88.1
Username: admin
Password: blank

Ports
LAN port 1 (ether1) is your WAN port. (Connect modem here)
LAN Port 2-5 for your devices. Later we can use port 5 for UnifiTV.

Command Line Method

OK, let's go

Connect to the router using Winbox and open a New Terminal or use SSH. Change to your Unifi username and password first then copy and paste the commands below

CODE

/system package enable ipv6
/system reset-configuration

/interface vlan add interface=ether1 name=vlan500 vlan-id=500
/interface pppoe-client add add-default-route=yes use-peer-dns=yes disabled=no interface=vlan500 name=pppoe-out1 password=fmsSJQEMtvuTy user=myusername@unifi
/interface list member add interface=pppoe-out1 list=WAN

/ip upnp
set enabled=yes
/ip upnp interfaces
add interface=bridge type=internal
add interface=pppoe-out1 type=external

Done. That's all you need for a very basic setup. Internet should be working now.

Explain a bit

First ensure IPv6 package is enabled. This is just to get the IPv6 firewall rules configured in case we want to setup IPv6 in the future.

CODE

/system package enable ipv6

Reset to default configuration. Very important. Router will be reboot.

CODE

/system reset-configuration

When you reconnect, the router will ask you to change password.

Create VLAN 500.

CODE

/interface vlan add interface=ether1 name=vlan500 vlan-id=500

Create PPPoE Client

CODE

/interface pppoe-client add add-default-route=yes use-peer-dns=yes disabled=no interface=vlan500 name=pppoe-out1 password=fmsSJQEMtvuTy user=myusername@unifi

Add PPPoE client to the WAN interface list

CODE

/interface list member add interface=pppoe-out1 list=WAN

Enable UPNP. Not mandatory but many apps uses UPNP.

CODE

/ip upnp
set enabled=yes
/ip upnp interfaces
add interface=bridge type=internal
add interface=pppoe-out1 type=external

WiFi, UnifiTV & IPv6
Wait ya.
