Got problem with my Aquos LC-40LB700M

Hi there..juz wanna ask any expertise here to help me, i juz bought a brand new Sharp Aquos LC-40LB700M which is comes with blue-ray player, the problem is, i cant play any movies/pic from my external hdisk and pendrive via USB port on the blue-ray player and also from the USB port behind the tv. Already checked the manual given but dont have any guide how to connect any external drive to the USB port. Quite dissapointed coz thinkin to buy the android box so i can surfing internet through my TV ..please help, thanks....
