Did Maxis Block the Gaming Ports?

I feel like swearing before I type all this......

Anyway I play Team Fortress 2, which is an online multiplayer game, and on 20th of March around 10 pm, I had severe difficulty connecting to the Singaporean game servers. And once connected, my ping is only like 130, which is normal and playable, but somehow there is always an error in connection and I cannot move or do anything at all.

When I called them up to ask whether they were facing any technical difficulties, they said that they were upgrading services in some certain areas, but not in my area. They then advised me to play online games only from 1am to 6 am. (This is what pisses me off the most, how the hell can you ask me to sacrifice my sleeping time just to use your service for which I paid?)

Anyway, after further testing, I realised that I could actually connect to the servers during off peak hours which is 2 am or 8am(damn pissed), which leads me to this question:
Did Maxis block the gaming ports during peak hours just as they blocked the P2P ports?

Please help me!!! I'm really desperate to play!

[addedon]March 22, 2008, 1:20 pm[/addedon]Can anyone help?
