FOREIGN-SOURCED INCOME - MALAYSIAN INCOME TAX

Hi,

i have a question regarding foreign sourced income tax exemption in Malaysia. Given a scenario:

Person A who is a Malaysian National providing some IT/Software Consulting services for a foreign company outside of Malaysia & receive payment for his services in Malaysia from that foreign company. Is this income taxable and how this should be reported to LHDN?

I have made some research & found the following & would like to check if the following exemption is applicable to the above mentioned scenario?

Income received in Malaysia from outside Malaysia

If income (not capital gains) derived from outside Malaysia is remitted to Malaysia, that is, sent back to or received in Malaysia, it is conceptually subject to tax in Malaysia, but Malaysia has introduced law (Schedule 6, Paragraph 28) to specifically exempt such income. The rationale for this exemption is to encourage the inward remittance of foreign income. This explains the last sentence of the statement:

“Further to that, any income remitted to Malaysia from abroad is also exempt under Paragraph 28, Schedule 6 of the ITA 1967.”

hi mates,
i m an telecommunication engineering student, i hv gt offer from JVC manufacturing, for internship.
I m in dilemma 2 weather 2 accept the offer or nt...bcoz i hv read some threads saying bad environment in JVC.
So pls advice...i also gt offer from Embedded Wireless Labs, PJ.. to work and test their radio products and r&d deparment.
i also gt offer from some sub con companies as drive test engineer, which i guess i wont go for since its only taking readings from sites..

It seems very hard 2 get internship with this companies. i hv registered in their online system but its only showing jobs for graduates and nt for interns. i cudnt find their hr email in their website also..so hw 2 apply? any idea?? i m a telcommunication engineering student.

University College of Technology & Innovation (UCTI/APIIT)...its Staffordshire University, UK degree program.

i m planin 2 take a-levels at KBU...
i choosed it coz its the edexcel one...(can retake xams) lol

but sum sayin its a new college 4 alevels...
