D60 or 1000D or A300?

Hi all!

I’m a total noob when it comes to photography (having been faithfully served by my trusty old Nikon Coolpix 5200 all these years), and am venturing forth into the world of SLRs. After reading forums after forums till I’ve turned cross-eyed, I have narrowed my picks to the following entry-level DSLRs:

Nikon D60 (no Live View, CCD sensor)
Pros - small, light and well-built, very easy to use with helpful menus, virtually fool-proof metering, excellent DX 18-55mm VR kit lens option
Cons - no auto-focus with certain lenses, some settings require too many button presses, anti-dust system not infallible, basic 3-point AF and no DOF preview

Canon 1000D (with Live View, CMOS sensor)
Pros - Image quality up with the best 10 Mpixel DSLRs, accurate Live View with contrast-AF option, kit includes stabilized lens, PC remote control software supplied
Cons - Live View not as fuss-free as Sony A300, screen fixed in position - unlike A300, slow RAW continuous shooting, some features downgraded from 400D / XTi

Sony A300 (with Live View, CCD sensor)
Pros - Built-in anti-shake - works with any lens, no-fuss Live View with quick AF, tilting monitor, InfoLithium battery gives accurate feedback
Cons - Relatively small optical viewfinder, noise levels not much better than A350, Live View not 100% accurate, anti-dust system not 100% effective

*Above observations taken from www.cameralabs.com's review of all 3 cameras.

All 3 cameras are priced around RM2,000, which is at the very limit of my budget. I usually shoot family photos, especially during vacations, gatherings and other occasions, both indoors and outdoors, and in all hours of the day/night. Not expecting to shoot sporting events, although I’d like to shoot more scenic pictures. To be honest, my heart is torn between the D60 and the 1000D while the A300 is not far behind, but a few things are bugging me:

1.	Will Live View make a difference to a noob?;
2.	Does it matter if the sensors are CCD or CMOS?;

Hope you guys can help shed some light, and thank you in advance.
