Huawei Matepad 11

Hi guys, I couldn't find any Huawei threads around so made one to ask if anyone has experience with Huawei products recently? I'm looking for a tablet to work on the move a little and after checking Samsung Tab S9 FE and Huawei Matepad 11 Papermatte edition...Huawei seems to be the better choice with the better CPU chipset. Also just found out there's Oppo tablet which is faster but also more expensive.

Back to the question, I tested the Huawei Matepad and actually quite impressed with the device and functionality. But checking out reviews on Youtube, they don't really explain much about the Huawei GalleryStore. Just that Huawei ecosystem work better the more Huawei devices you have.

Mechanical Keyboard recommendation

Guys, I’m looking to replace my budget mechanical keyboard…and for now considering Keychron C1 and Cooler Master MK730. Does anyone here have some advice I can seek? I don’t mind getting other recommendation but my budget is only RM250 or below.

Keychron C1
- I think its a good brand but C1 is budget range (they have K and Q range models too)
- Gateron switches (fairly long pre-travel)
- slightly higher latency (8.4ms)
- not hot-swappable

Cooler Master MK730
- lower latency (6ms)
- Cherry MX switches (shorter pre-travel)
- moderate brand
- not hot swappable

Car insurance betterment charges

Are you guys aware of this new addition to car insurance? Seems that it had started since the flood in KL a year or two ago.

https://www.zurich.com.my/en/knowledge-hub/...n-car-insurance
1. What is betterment in car insurance or takaful?
The term betterment means that something has been made better or has been upgraded, and this leads to an increase in value.

In Malaysia’s car insurance or takaful, the replacement of a damaged car part with a brand-new original part after an accident claim is considered betterment.

2. Why is the betterment charge imposed?
If damaged car parts are replaced with new parts after an accident, you may benefit as the car will be in a better condition compared to prior to the accident.

So, betterment charge may be applied where you are required to bear a portion of the part replacement costs.

3. How do you determine the betterment charge?
The betterment charge that you will have to pay depends on the age of your car. For most comprehensive car insurance or takaful, the betterment charge is based on the betterment rate table shown below. The betterment rate is multiplied on the cost of the new replacement car parts to determine the betterment charge.

Age of your car	Betterment rate applied (%)
0-5---------------0%
5----------------15%
6----------------20%
7----------------25%
8----------------30%
9----------------35%
10 and above---40%

4. How is the betterment charge applied in an accident claim?
For example, your 9-year-old car runs into an accident and you choose to replace the accident-damaged car parts with new ones that cost RM5,000.

Based on the table above, the betterment charge that you need to pay is 35% of the new part cost and this is equivalent to RM1,750 (RM5,000 x 35%). Your comprehensive car insurance or takaful will cover the remaining remainder of the cost, which amounts to RM3,250.

5. Is there a way around betterment?
To avoid paying for any betterment charges, you can request for used spare parts subject to availability. There could also be possible in a situation where there is no re-condition or used spare parts available, and the only option is to replace with brand new parts. In such cases, betterment may still be applied.

In some car insurance and takaful, you may have the option to purchase an add-on cover to waive the betterment charge in the event of an accident.

So when someone hits your car...you have to pay this betterment charges for any car older than 5 years old...even if you're claiming their insurance.

Hey guys, my exercise is a light one, I do it twice a week...and one of the things I do is a dumbbell shoulder press...pic for reference (No 1)
But my left shoulder (circled red) suddenly feels really painful trying to lift once...most of the pain comes from the midway part (when the shoulder is straight L shape like in this pic) to the top.
Right side no issues...is this some kind of muscle or bone disclocation? Because I also feel a bit of crack when doing the full rotation. Now after trying 2-3 times and giving up...the pain is stronger. Any advice is appreciated!

What's the best 100mbps line to go for now?

Hi guys, I've been enjoying TIME for a while now and I'll be moving to a landed place soon. Looking for another stable line like TIME for a new place. I've used Maxis many years back...it was 10mbps only that time. The line was great, no issues but just browsing around I'm getting a sense that Maxis broadband now isn't as great?

Unifi's giving me hell...30mbps at my parent's house is absolutely rubbish for playing games. I complained and their technician told me that TM switched from Open IP to Private IP for 30mbps users recently in November 2021 and that's what's causing all the lag when gaming (and also video conferences). He asks us to subscribe to the 100mbps line and above to get access to Open IP...which to me is downright blackmail by TM. Not to mention that in the whole of PJ, you can only got to ONE location to do any changes. Their other outlets are almost completely useless except to make payments (which can also be done online???).

So back to the main point here...I'm considering Maxis so far also because Digi home fiber seems to be on Private Dynamic IP as well? But is Maxis a good option...somehow there's no Maxis home fiber thread in LYN...

Bought a property, almost 12 months ago

Hi all, I am in some predicament here that need some Sifus to help. I went to view an old double storey house last year and decided to buy the house after about a week or two. We paid the deposit to the agent around end of November. However the owner did not sign the agreement letter and hold it for one month before signing under pressure of us cancelling the purchase (or sth like that).

I cannot remember the details but each time we needed a document to proceed with the completion of the purchase, the owner's side delay one month. This includes house deed, ownership documents, site/house valuation by the bank and more. Of course during MCO 3.0 we were not able to proceed with anything at all.

It is now end of October and we have been waiting for discharge documents from the seller's bank & lawyer since early September. Apparently the seller's bank is also slow (SCB) so this document extra long. After this, it'll take another month at least to change name before the process can be completed.

Now you may be wondering why he purposely delay every document by one month, that is because he is still staying in the house with his whole family and is planning to move out to another bigger house. This new house however is a leasehold and as you may be well aware of...leasehold properties take longer to process. On top of that, we had an agreement in writing on the sales agreement that the owner will pay a minimum rent per month for staying at the house once all the SPA processes are complete.

My question here is can we do anything about this deliberate delay? I have been paying rent out of my own pocket for his benefit for months (another friend who bought a house on the same month as me moved into his new house in APRIL!!) and this Chinaman tactic needs to be addressed legally.

All advices are appreciated.

As most of us are, despite not being allowed to operate still during this Phase 1, we still try to get some work done in preparation for when the market reopens. However some of them were totally unresponsive and even when there's a response, it wasn't during working hours or 'gossip responses' (which makes it look like they're doing another job outside).

Should I give warning letter or just start to retrench them?

M.2 SSD recommendation

Hi guys, I wish I was able to visit (and support) the shops to check on this but MCO 2.0 makes it impossible so I need to ask some pros here for recommendation. My PC secondary HDD feels like its failing and I need a replacement.

But I'm using Asus Prime B250M-A and it doesn't say if this mainboard supports NVMe. If I buy NVMe SSD and use on this mainboard...will it work? Throttled down? Like RAM - this mainboard supports max 2400MHz so if I fit in 2666MHz, the RAM will be throttled down to 2400MHz max.

Also, what M.2 is recommended now? AData specs look very promising but there are Crucial, Gigabyte, Kingston and Samsung in the market as well. I think Samsung is the king right now? I am using Samsung 850Evo as primary SSD.

This chart is something quickly drawn up last night...

Hey guys, anyone have any idea how big this property fair in Sunway Velocity is? I’m staying quite far from this place but am very interested in going for property fair. Photos would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

Android Auto not detecting GPS accurately

Hi guys, I just changed my phone and the new Android 10 comes with Android Auto built in. On the first day the AA GPS is working fine but on the second day onwards it started to have issues connecting to GPS accurately. Its constantly searching and I've missed turns thanks to this. I checked my battery saving mode and switched it off but its still not working properly. Does anyone know a fix to this?
