On FB, many Najib supporters condemned judge's rejection of the four alleged donation letters.

They claimed that MACC officers, who went to Saudi Arabia to record statement, confirmed that the letters were genuine.

But, is it true?

Had they really followed the trials?

One of the MACC officer who went to Saudi Arabia was Mohd Nasharudin Amir. He testified as defence witness.

Have a look at what he said when deputy public prosecutor cross examine him. I quote it in blue font:

Akram: From the start till the end of the trip, it was all pre-planned. Your role was merely to complete the [established] story. You just went to eat and come back (pergi, makan, dan balik)?

Nasharudin: Yes, correct.

Akram: [Al Koram's] four-and-half page statement was already prepared. [Your job was] only to cut and paste it into MACC's [required] format.

Nasharudin: Yes.

Akram: The same for Eric Tan — this statement was already prepared and [you] merely cut and pasted it. There were no additional questions asked.

Nasharudin: Yes.

Akram: They didn't put forth any documents to support what they said.

Nasharudin: Yes.

The witness confirmed that he went to Saudi Arabia to eat and come back. He also admitted that the statements were pre-prepared and just cut and paste, and no additional questions asked.

And then, this:

On the stand on Friday, Nasharudin also confirmed that out of the three days, the statements of the two men, in relation to the donation, only took about 45 minutes in total.

The delegation had arrived in Riyadh on the night of Nov 27 and were flown to Jeddah via a private jet the next day in order for the five to perform their Umrah.

The officer said that he had not performed his Umrah prior to that trip.

He only spent 45 minutes to record statement, then spent the whole day on something else.

Based on these, do you think the judge still accept "MACC officers, who went to Saudi Arabia to record statement, confirmed that the letters were genuine"?

I see that defence witness's testimony only bring harm to the defence.

I feel that working is more relax than studying

At my workplace, the management team do not encourage employee to work overtime, unless it is necessary.

Even the lowest pay position employee can go home after office hours, including the employee who never study in university.

After office hours, we can go home to sleep, go shopping, spend time with family, etc.

Plus, we are protected by the labour laws.

But, these benefits do not apply to me when I was a university student.

I still remember my terrible life during my university time. I always no time to sleep. After class, I need to do assignments (home work), then need to study for the upcoming exam. Doing assignment alone, can cause me to 24 hours no sleep. I can only relax during semester break.

You may say that, after working hours, you still need to do chores, take care of children, etc. But, you have time to do chores, take care of children. During my university time, other than attending classes, doing assignment, study for upcoming exam, I have no time to do any other things. No time to do chores, and no time to spend with family.

So, I feel that working is more relax than studying.

The child was first taken to a clinic in Cheng but was referred to Melaka Hospital due to the clinic’s lack of X-ray and CT scan facilities.

“Scans at the hospital showed no serious injuries,” she added.

She also said officers from the Social Welfare Department (JKM) would visit the family’s home on Monday to record statements and assess the next course of action.

Use MAE app to view credit card only

I have a Maybank credit card. I don't have any saving account with Maybank. I installed the MAE app just for easier access to my credit card details (statement, transaction history, etc), and for Secure2U.

I have no plan to use MAE ewallet. But, the app force me to create an ewallet account. No choice, just to follow the instructions, and activated the ewallet account.

I now have access to my credit card information via MAE app.

I have no plan to use the MAE ewallet account, and don't want to keep any balance inside. If I have any credit card debt, I will just pay by direct transfer from other bank directly into the credit card account, and not through the ewallet.

If my MAE ewallet account become dormant and closed due to inactivity, can I still access my credit card information, and Secure2U feature by using MAE app?

Hearsay evidence, Najib's case vs paul yong's case

In Najib's 1mdb and SRC cases, the high court judges accepted prosecution evidences which the defence lawyers argued as hearsays. The judges of both cases accepted these evidences.

In Paul Yong's rape case, the high court judge rejected the "hearsay" evidence from defence lawyer.

Someone may ask, why the diffences? Someone may ask, is it fair?

After Najib's conviction in SRC case, I saw some Najib's supporters questioned about the acceptance of these evidences because Jho Low was never a prosecution witness.

But, I would say, the decisions by high court judges in these cases are justified and fair.

By theory, the court should not accept "hearsay" evidences. But, section 32 of Evidence Act provide exceptions to this. Evidence Act section 32 allow the acceptance of "hearsay" evidences in some conditions.

As you can see, if a person is dead or cannot be found after giving statement given to MACC, his statement to MACC can be accepted in court. Not only this. If there is any witness give testimony about what these dead or cannot be found person had told him, such testimony also acceptable.

I will first explain about Najib's SRC and 1MDB cases.

Prosecution team relied on Evidence Act section 32 to convince the judges to accept witness testimonies about some people who is not alive or cannot be found.

Datuk Azlin Alias, Najib's formal secretary, was dead in year 2015, in a helicopter crash. Prosecution team also proved through MACC witness, that Jho Low could not be located.

Jho Low was charged in absential. There was also an income tax case against him.

All these made section 32 applicable to relevant evidence about Datuk Azlin and Jho Low.

These allowed the judges in both SRC and 1MDB case to accept relevant testimonies about Datuk Azlin and Jho Low.

Now, talk about Paul Yong's rape case.

In Paul Yong's rape case, the alleged rape victim still alive and ever being a prosecution witness.

The defence lawyer never recall her as witness, and never tried any effort to locate her. The other requirements stated in Evidence Act section 32 also not met. These made section 32 of Evidence Act not applicable in defence's so called "new evidence".

So, the high court judge rejected the defence's "hearsay" evidence (about the victim admitted framing Paul Yong) and returned the case to federal court.

So, in 1mdb and src cases, the judges' action of accepting the prosecution evidence, which the defence lawyers claimed as "hearsay", is justified.

TuneTalk VoLTE and VoWiFi handover issue

I am facing an issue with TuneTalk's VoLTE and VoWiFi. This issue happen on multiple phones. This issue not appear on other Telco.

I do not know whether anyone of you had faced this issue before.

I had enabled both VoLTE and VoWiFi (WiFi calling).

Please look at the following screenshots:

VoLTE works before I connect to any WiFi network.

After I connect to WiFi, the phone switch from VoLTE to VoWiFi.

After disconnected from WiFi, VoLTE will not works.

I have to enable airplane mode and then disable airplane mode to make VoLTE works again.

This issue happen on both Xiaomi and Samsung phones.

Investigators also seized documents and electronic devices from the house.

Ismail Sabri was prime minister from 2021 to 2022, making him Malaysia's shortest-serving premier.

Is MCMC really that irresponsible?

Almost all telcos, the cellular coverage at my residential area is very poor. Not to say 4G, even 2G is weak too, both indoor and outdoor.

At some areas inside my house, the phone can display "emergency calls only", if not connected to any WiFi network.

Fortunately, we still have fibre broadband internet

Most of our phones support VoWiFi (voice over wifi). For voice calls, we now rely heavily on WiFi network, at indoor.

If the WiFi is down, mean no VoWiFi, with such poor cellular signal, we may even have problems making emergency calls.

I had made complaint to telcos and MCMC, about the issue of weak cellular coverage, since a few years ago. As of today, no further action taken by MCMC and telcos.

Is MCMC really that irresponsible?

I just briefly explain what I know from the documentary.

Maintenance issue.

The jam of the right thrust lever causing the auto-throttle problem. The problem with auto-throttle system remain unfixed for years. The maintenance team relied on the limited computerized test. However the computer test is very limited. It cannot check the auto-throttle mechanical system. Just because the test report no problem, maintenance team allow putting the plane into service. They did not check the mechanical system. The auto-throttle system problem remain exists for years.

Pilots' actions.

The auto-throttle system problem caused the plane to bank to the left. The computer auto pilot try to level the plane by turning the control wheel to the right. This is correct action. But, the captain saw the wheel being turned to the right, he thought the plane was turning right, even though it was not. He then disengage the auto-pilot, turn the plane left, making the left bank situation worse.

Is unifi mobile not support 2G anymore?

I have 2 smartphones. Both on different telco.

My main smartphone is a newer Samsung phone that support 5G and VoLTE. Another smartphone is an old Android smartphone which I currently use as secondary or backup phone only, and seldom use.

The backup phone was purchased about 9 years ago. All functions still working perfectly. It support 4G. Just one problem, it does not support VoLTE. This mean, when making or receiving calls, it will switch to 2G network.

The backup phone, I seldom use it. It is using the older UniFi prepaid plan, which currently still active.

A few months ago, on my backup phone, the call still working, even though it will switch from 4G to 2G network. But, today, I tried to make some usages to keep the prepaid plan active. 4G internet still working. I noticed that I cannot make any call. So, I try to manually switch the phone network from 4G to 2G. I noticed that there is no 2G signal at all. That is why I cannot make call, since the phone not support VoLTE.

Is UniFi mobile not support 2G anymore?

If yes, then I need to either upgrade my backup phone, or switch telco.

A former employee's misbehavior caused him to loose his job. Show no remorse. To revenge, he killed everyone on board.

David Burke was the airline's former employee. He was caught on camera for stealing money. He then got fired by the airline. His appeal was denied by his former manager. The security at that time was poor. His employee credential was not confiscated. These caused him able to pass through security with gun, even though being fired.

To take revenge on his former manager, he booked the same flight as his former manager. He brought the gun on board. During mid flight, he fired gun shots, killed his former employer, a flight attendant, two pilots on duty. The final shot possibly killed an off duty pilot who try to save the plane. He then perform suicide by controlling the aircraft to nose down, killed everyone on board. 43 deaths.

Earlier, Bakke, in his testimony, said he sent a text message to Najib detailing the mismanagement in 1MDB, but the latter never bothered to respond.

Bakke said it did not cross his mind to report to any relevant authorities on the financial misconduct because the matter had already been brought to Najib's attention.

The trial before judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah continues.

"It was disbanded as it was unlawful on principle," Najib said on Tuesday.

Previously, Najib had testified that he did not order the controversial disbandment of the task force in July 2015, rather, it was an "administrative" decision.

The task force included, amongst others, the police, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC).

It was set up in 2015 and led by former attorney general (AG) Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail. Following Abdul Gani's removal as AG, the task force was disbanded in July 2015, when Najib still helmed the government.

Tan Sri Abu Kassim, who was MACC chief at that juncture, was also transferred out of the anti-graft body.

On Tuesday, Najib disagreed with deputy public prosecutor Kamal Baharin Omar that the termination of Abdul Gani and Abu Kassim restricted the role of the task force.

"Disagree, investigations were still ongoing," he said.

The now imprisoned 71-year-old previously testified that individual agencies managed to continue their probe, citing BNM and the Public Accounts Committee’s investigations as examples.

Najib had also testified that the "leadership" changes at the MACC and the AGC were part of an "administrative reshuffling".

Najib said heard rumours of purported charge sheet but didn't verify
When asked if Najib was aware of the purported charge sheet against him around 2015, the ex-PM said that he had heard rumours, but didn't "verify it himself".

Najib also disagreed that Abdul Gani's services were terminated due to his role in the 1MDB investigations.

"There were several issues, especially health issues," he said.

Kamal reverted to the ex-PM's previous testimony, where Najib had said that he intended to recommend Abdul Gani as a Federal Court judge, but this did not materialise.

Elaborating, Najib said that at that point in time, he did not discuss this with Abdul Gani, and that the ex-AG did not "pass the process".

"At that time, I didn't discuss it with him. I don't want to give details but [he] didn't pass the process," he said without elaborating further.

Najib also testified that Abdul Gani had not been let go due to a loss of confidence in the latter, contradicting the late chief secretary to the government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa's testimony in the 1MDB-audit report tampering trial.

"If I lost confidence in him, I wouldn't consider [him for] the position of Federal Court judge," he said.

In this trial, Najib faces four abuse of power and 21 money-laundering charges.

The trial before presiding judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah continues.
