The main point being

Cheap - Hafta be affordable, I am looking for something nice to fill my walls (more than 1, gotta be cheap so can afford to decorate all.) , not picasso

Beautiful - I know this is subjective, so find a place with many choices, some piece gotta be right with more choices.

Real Ship - It gotta be touchable, not online shop with no real stuff. Can see the real thing, no point.

Medical Care Cost for our Babies

Hello fellow parents,.
It is always a challenge to keep our pride and joy in the pink of health.
I am starting this topic to gather cost comparison for medical cost for our babies.
I am staying in Subang Jaya and so far been to 2 different Pediatric.
Their cost is around the same so far.

Consultation :
RM70 - RM90 per visit

Vaccination
RM130 - RM400 each time depending on what jab is involved.

Gas for stuffy nose
RM100-RM120 per treatment

Is this considered normal or am I visiting the wrong Pediatricians?

My friend told me that she can straight get the Gas for stuffy nose treatment without consulting the pediatrician for RM20 per treatment in Selayang.
Makes me think that either i am getting slaughtered or that I am living in the wrong neighborhood.

Please share your experience and advise -

Healthy takeaway for working family

Me and my wife are both working and we send our babies to the babysitters for day care.

I am now located in USJ and are wondering where is the best shop to find relatively healthy food.

As we are both working and have to babysit and do house chores during the weekend, we really have little time for cooking.

Any good recommendation to mix rice shop or convenient ready food source that is relatively healthy (less MSG, Salt and Oil).

I believe many similar families are in the same situation and would be interested in this topic.

So far after doing a brief search on the net, the price ranges from RM200 - RM3000

There is Convection Type, Grill Type, Solo Type, Steam Type, Super Steam Type, Oven type, A combination of a few type making me

Then there is the wattage 1000W. 1200 W.. etc etc etc.

Can anyone guide me through the maze that is termed "microwave oven"

CNY Decoration

I see all the lanterns, wall stickers and decorative hangings being sold all over town.
I would like suggestions on how to put up and take down these decoration with minimal or no damage to the wall or ceilings.

How to put up wall stickers without tape residue later?.

Buy Furniture from China

I have visited China Furniture Fair previously and I have to say their choices are huge and varied.
Their price is reasonable too.
As we are in Malaysia and most of our Furniture is from China anyways, we are limited only to the model Furniture retailers bring in.
Is there anyone who has experience and knowledge on what is involved to getting furniture direct from China to Malaysia.

Throught renovation, there is many details that we discover either before or after installation.
If it is before, we can change, If it is after then
This thread is to share what details that usually the supplier
do not want us to know/ you do not ask you do not know / better you do not know
as usually it will increase the cost or it will put us off using a particular product.
Feel free to correct all the statement here

So I start here by posting 2 product

1) " it will increase the cost " - Cabinet carcase

Usually cabinets carcase are built using particle board / chipboard. I guess this will be used in majority of all cabinets supplied today.
If you do not ask, they will just use chipboard, if you ask they most probly will say, there is no other choice or they do not have any other option.
The other option are MDF (slightly more expensive) and Plywood ( more expensive)
The problem with chipboard and MDF is that is is not as solid as plywood, the main issue is screw and nail retention.
If you notice usually once a screw is loose from a chipboard or MDF, it will be difficult to screw in back the same place compared to plywood.
Comparatively plywood has the best resistance towards moisture.
- with the issue above imagine how durable is the popular chipboard for your kitchen cabinet (wet area) with swing out doors that is "screwed" on to the chipboard based carcase.
Just google plywood vs MDF or plywood vs chipboard/particle board

2) "put us off using a particular product" - Ikea's KVARTAL Curtain Track System

I fell in love with this product as it looks so cool with modern lines so i installed my whole house with it.
As for the curtains, I got it from regular curtain shop in Nilai 3.
It does not work well together. The curtain keeps getting jammed.
Kvartal system only goes well with Ikea's Curtain.

Its white. Very easy get dirty.

Been calling some LYN sellers but all the custom precut model they have are all for Apple.

Fung Shui Wars

I am starting this thread to see if anyone out there has Fung Shui stories to share.
This idea came about when I was watching astro with my friend and there was a feature about snake temple in Penang.
A friend of mine told me that there is very little snake left in penang snake temple because of a "gwailo" Fung Shui master.
Apparently it was because this "gwailo" who learned Fung Shui in China, wanted to destroy the good Fung Shui in Malaysia.
So he came and did some Fung Shui "kung fu" and destroyed the good Fung Shui of the Penang snake temple and all the snake disappeared as a result.
Furthermore he also whacked other good fung shui area in Malaysia.
Interesting story worrr...

The thing is, my wife get better burping ratio campared to me.
We both do the same thing but her result is better than mine.

Starting a thread here regarding Magic

Before you scoff think back.

Sometimes you will see a chant word pasted on some installers delivery vans or lorries. Ever wondered what this is about.

I have seen wardrobe installers in my parents house chant a chant everything they install a wardrobe section.
It seems that the lines just align perfectly every time they install a wardrobe with this chant.
I've asked and they say the chant just works.

Any similar experience to share?
