LAN disconnect, WiFi still connected

Hi, so I am having a weird and random disconnection of my LAN connection to the router. When this happen, the local network just stop working, as in the PC could not communicate to other equipment connected to the router, as I tried pinging to the router, and failed. And of course, I could not connect to the Internet through LAN.

But, when that happen, the WiFi connection is working fine and I could still access to the internet.

This has happen for two different wifi modem, one is the D-Link black coloured wifi modem from TM and another silver coloured WiFi modem from TM as well. (The modem is not with me now, I can't specify the exact model number)

The frequency of this happening is totally random. And I normally just reset the modem or unplug and replug the LAN cable and it will work fine again.

I am suspecting that the wifi modem itself is faulty and adding a router would solve this problem?

255W PSU for HD7750?

Hi, I have a DELL PSU which has a max output power of 255W and thinking of whether it could support HD7750.

+12V rail has 16A
-12V rail has 0.2A

The combination of 5V and 3.3V has a output power of 121W as stated on the PSU.

So, can I assume that the +12V rail has a real power of 134W only?

Btw, GPU uses +12V right? not -12V.

Other specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.9GHz
4GB RAM

As TechPowerUP tested, it only draws 43W at peak, so it is possible?
And, I used a power supply calculator and it recommend a 252W PSU. Please advise guys.

Biology or Physic?

I notice there is a similar thread with this, but I am a little different than the TS.

Ok, currently, I am in a STPM Physic class. But, till now I didn't know my interest is in Physic or Biology.

I have checked that local unis seems to prefer Biology more than Physic as Biology could still enter engineering course using Maths T to replace Physic.
But, Healthcare course only accept Biology students.

So, I was thinking, is Biology really that vast, that it learn about Physic too?

Btw, currently I find that Physic is quite a new thing compare to F5 Physic, as in F5 Physic, there were more toward understanding, now F6, there seems to be more calculation. To be frank, i find F6 Physic has a quite different style than F5 and a little too much formulas for me now, but I could get use to it over time.

For Biology, I read the textbook a little, and I find it was quite the same as F5, quite easy to understand, but those name may need some effort to memorize them. Or, in actual exam, we doesn't need really need to write those names out?

So, what do you guys think I should do now?

P.S. My school doesn't have class for pure science class. ie. Physic combo Biology class.

Hi, IINM Some forumer here said that if an Intel Mobo is faulty, Intel would send you a DHL courier box or something for you to post your faulty Intel Mobo back to them. I am not sure whether how true is this though.

Other than that, I also heard that all faulty Intel Mobo is eligible for 1-to-1 exchange. I am not sure upon this either. If so, is this true for the processor too?

Btw, how about other manufacturer? Please share your experience RMA-ing their mobo or other parts with your manufacturer.

Motherboard Problem?

Hi all,

Currently, I am having 3 problem with my computer.
Namely shaky screen, faulty USB port and an update problem with Windows 7.

I suspect this is due to my MetalWare AAS482MS7 ATi Radeon Xpress 200 Chipset Motherboard problem.
Details Here:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

First is a Shaky Screen.

To test whether my monitor is faulty, I used a working monitor to replace my current monitor, I have the shaky screen too. Then, I have tried my current monitor with a working computer and, it works fine with it.

So, can I conclude that the IGP I am using now is going to die?

Second is USB unable to detect pendrive and webcam. (That's the only thing I have tested on)

Even so, my printer could work using USB port. I have also tried using a USB mouse with my computer, it works kinda fine except when I initially plugged in the mouse, it is kinda laggy, but after that, it is working fine.

I have also tried using pendrive on the USB port that my printer was using, but it couldn't be read too.

Third is Windows 7 is trying to install "Silicon Image - Storage - ATI 437A Serial ATA Controller" but fail everytime it tries too.

I have no idea what that is for and I guess it is a driver?
And it gives me Error 80070103. I have tried google, but it doesn't help me much.

So, do you guys think that all the above problems is due to a dying motherboard?

If so, I was planning to buy a GPU and a PCI USB port to solve my current problem now, is it a good idea? As it seems that my motherboard starts to deteriorate? and in future there may be more problem coming up?
