Personal Steamer Machine

Hi,

I would like to ask if anyone here owns a personal respiratory steamer machine? Is it the same as a facial steamer? My daughter has asthma and allergies and steaming is the best way to ease her condition. I normally boil hot water, pour in basin wth Vicks or menthol crystals and put towel over her head. Its kinda dangerous so i'd like to get a machine.

I'm currently using MS project running parallels. I hate the app and looking for something simpler to operate AND which i dont need to run Windows coz i hate having to run windows on my mac!

Any views?

Time Machine

Hi forummers,

I realise i'm a doofus here, but i thought i had disabled Time Machine to delete old backups to replace with new ones when my ext drive is full. In fact, i just enabled it to warn me, which it didnt do, btw. Now I have just discovered that Time Machine has done its job well... so my very first backup of tediously archived data has been deleted.

Is there any way at all i can retrieve those data?

I'm pretty much upset coz the data are from 2002, and i've trashed all the cdrs that i stored them in.

Geez, the irony of it is that Time Machine was the single app that convinced me to switch to Leopard.

Hi to all you well informed Mac Forummers

I have a WD 160gb ext drive that has run outta space. I want to buy a new one, maybe MyBook Home Edition.

So now i want to move all my data from the current drive to potential new one, and i dunno how!

Why i wanna do this? Because the current one is portable and i want to bring it around while obviously using the Mybook at my home office. The 160gb currently contain all my blood, sweat n tears archived and Time Machined data copied from CDRs and DVDRs of work from 2002!

I'm not too tech savvy so simple layman's instructions would be greatly appreciated!!

Can this TV be connected to my Mac and used like a computer LCD monitor? These are the specs i dont understand:

Soldier toys

Hi forummers,

Sorry if i'm in the wrong thread or forum, first time here. I tried to look at the pinned threads but cant find! My problem is i dont even know wat those toys are called.

They are the model soldiers that you can buy separate military clothes and guns and stuff. My son started playing with his sister's Ken doll and pretend its a soldier, i would like to get him a real soldier one but not brand new coz he's only 8 and very rough play. Maybe when he's bigger can start the collectors items.

Photoshop processes eating up 99% cpu; WHY?

Hi Forummers,

Lately i've noticed that whenever i use Photoshop CS2, even for no big deal stuff, my fans go crazy and the Activity Monitor shows Photoshop using 99% of CPU. The file is not so big, not doing anything, just saving into jpg format only. So when i actually have to open bigger files, problem mah!

So i quit the process, and fans fade to silent almost immediately. When i open a file, it goes cuckoo again!!! How like dat?

Sometimes even Safari does this, with only 2 tabs opened. And lately Yahoo Messenger, more than Safari. But when i close its ok, happens maybe once a week, so that is ok la. Can still tolerate. I'm a graphic designer, so photoshop is my cari makan. But my fans running like crazy and CPU A goes to 80˚C, how to makan like dat? My heart stop one!

I've been on the Apple Support, a lot of this happens apparently, but no one got any real solution from Apple. I'm running Leopard, BTW. Is this an OS problem? Never had this happen on Tiger, but i LOVE Leopard, esp Time Machine; so going back to Tiger is not an option.

If anyone can help me, i'll be forever in your debt!!

Leopard parental controls

Hello Forummers,

I created an account for my kids and set up the parental controls. When i limited the apps, internet sites etc my macbook fans start going crazy and my cpu usage by safari will hit 99%! Yup, i searched Apple's support but it seems that its not quite resolved. So i limited the account to simple finder and set the option "try to limit access to adult websites only".

And everything seems fine, apps can open but....

Internet connection teruk la. Even facebook cannot open, seems there's browser problems. Yahoo and general sites seems ok.

How do i set this up, then? Can anyone , please?

And i'm kinda layman, so complicated instructions with codecs and stuff will result in suicidal tendencies....

Missing Dock

My dock is MISSING!!!!

I'm on leopard, have been since early Jan, i think, never had this problem before. Today in the afternoon, everything was fine, put my macbook to sleep, but tonight when i pasang the dock at bottom missing....

I checked system pref, evrything looks fine, hiding is off... so how mah?

I oso restart, no good....

Really, really s*****ng in my pants now.... HELP!!!

No iPhone 3g in Mac Stores in July?

Hi! My cousin went to a Mac store and enquired about the new iphone 3g. The staff said there will be no iphone sales at mac stores in malaysia, our country is NOT one of the 93 countries in Cupertino's list. Is this true?

And they said that mobile phone sellers will sell them, but no warranty. Is this true also?

I waited for iphone 3g for so long!!!

Mainly because i wanted 3g but secondly cause of the warranty!

Please enlighten me, if anyone knows!

Ok, i just bought a WD elements 160 gb ext hard drive. Never used one before. So i copied the current iPhoto library into it. Then i found some old cds with iPhoto pictures and when i want to update the ext hd, do i have to open each folder one by one? A lot and very tedious like that.

How do i do this automatically?

Any other way to make this easier for future updates as well?

Weird Quicktime icon in system pref

Hi all! I updated my OS 10.4.11 last week as well as the Quicktime player. Then i noticed the quicktime icon in system preference a bit weird. How do i change it? Its no big deal, really, but its not 'perfect'. Hehehe

CDR burnt on superdrive not readable

Anyone got this problem? Sometimes the cdr that i burn cannot be opened. I thot it was the cheap discs i bought but when i switched to imation ones, same thing. So far DVDR ok. I use Titanium Toast.

Any help?

Macbook wont wake from long sleep

Hi. Lately when my macbooks been asleep a long time, ie 1 hr or more it wont wake. Itype in my password then after i hit enter it blanks! I have to press the 'on' button to switch off then press again to start.

Hi! I'm new here, and i'm wondering if you guys can listen to any local radio stations online? I installed Flip4Mac - the trial version and still no sound la. I'm guessing that i have to buy the full version but if there's anyway around this and no need to pay, i'll be happier!

And my sisters n brothers are all laughing at me cause i always 'action' that my mac is better than their acers and dells but simple thing like listen to radio also cannot do!
