Sir Richard Branson Takes to the Skies

Virgin Boss Set To Don Full Female Uniform for Kuala Lumpur Flight [

Passengers planning on travelling from London’s Stansted Airport to Kuala Lumpur next year may find themselves being served by a very familiar face. Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson has agreed to serve passengers on board the AirAsia flight dressed as a female air stewardess after losing a bet with the airlines chief executive. There will be no special treatment for Branson as he will be expected to perform all of the regular duties of an AirAsia stewardess whilst dressed in their regulation red uniform, complete with high heels. Along with serving passengers, the celebrity stewardess will also be expected to clean toilets and pick up rubbish on the plane. AirAsia founder Tony Fernandes has allowed Branson some leeway during his time onboard, he will be allowed to keep his beard however he will be required to shave his legs to comply with stewardess regulations.

The two airlines bosses formed a wager over whose Formula One team would place higher in this year’s results. Although both teams actually finished with zero points, a race finishing position clause secured Fernandes his victory. Both men agreed that the loser would serve as a flight attendant on the others airline, with Fernandes presenting Branson with his uniform after the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. The agreement was confirmed on Twitter along with the date of Branson’s stewardess debut “February 21, 2011. Richard Branson will be a crew of AirAsia X.’

Seats on the February flight will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to a charity of Sir Richard Branson’s choice. There is some comfort for the Virgin boss as his company owns a stake in AirAsia a welcome relief for Branson who stated The only positive thing is we own 20 per cent of his company so I’ll be able to get some promotion for a company I have a stake in.’

Via cheapholidays.com

Specs and photos of Samsung's 3D phone leaked

Images and specifications of Samsung’s first 3D-enabled phone have been leaked on the Internet. The phone, known as the Amoled 3D (SCH-W960), is a new type of device that can display content in 3D without the use of special glasses.

According to the information on Samsung-centric blog Samsung Hub and Russian mobile blog Mobile-Review, the touchscreen device has a special button that enables users to swap from viewing 2D to 3D images.

The high-tech phone also uses accelerometer gestures to control actions. For instance, if you wanted to mute the sound of an incoming call without touching a button, you would turn the phone upside down.

Other features are similar to what you would expect on a smartphone these days — a 3.2in display with a resolution of 240 x 400-pixels, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, multitasking, microSD card support for up to 16GB of memory, and standard corporate user interface via TouchWiz 2.0. In addition to the standard features there is also a built-in TV receiver.

ccording to the two blogs, the phone is set to be released in South Korea “soon” and will be available on SK Telecom, Korea Telecom and LG Telecom.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

For more pictures and info head to Samsung Hub: http://bit.ly/91I2bc. — Relaxnews

Link

GEORGE TOWN: Police rescued a 16-year-old Chinese national in a raid of a Butterworth hotel, where she and four other Chinese women were caught naked with their clients.

The are believed to have been trafficked here for sexual exploitation.

All of them were taken to the Bukit Mertajam police station following the 11.30pm raid on Thursday. The men were released after being questioned.

In the raid led by Chief Insp Salawati Saad, police seized RM3,512 in cash and recovered a sizeable number of condoms, antiseptic mouthwash, lubricants, towels, tissues and notebooks recording the earnings.

The raiding party also found used condoms strewn in several hotel rooms, in the operation codenamed Ops Noda/ Ops Pintas.

Also arrested was a 39-year-old hotel caretaker who was busy counting the day’s earnings at the hotel’s counter. He had since been remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to facilitate police investigations.

Penang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Wan Abdullah Tuanku Said said the 16-year-old girl would be sent to a shelter home in Kuala Lumpur.

He said her case was being investigated under Section 14 of the Anti-Human Trafficking Act 2007.

He said the other four Chinese nationals, aged between 26 and 28, would be remanded for 14 days under the Immigration Act for violation of social visit passes.

ACP Wan Abdullah said initial investigations revealed that the prostitution syndicate had been in operation for months and could have raked in close to RM100,000 monthly, with RM200 charged for each sexual service.

The arrests come on the heels of three earlier vice raids at motels in the state where 25 Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai women were caught.
Nazi Sign Stolen From Auschwitz Death Camp

The iconic entrance sign to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in Poland has been stolen, causing shock and anger among Jews.

It spelt out the slogan "Arbeit Macht Frei" or "Work Makes You Free" in iron - a sick Nazi joke.

The vast majority of people who walked under it, after being transported against their will from across German-occupied Europe, would die in the camp's gas chambers.

More than a million people were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau, 90% of them Jews.

"The theft of such a symbolic object is an attack on the memory of the Holocaust, and an escalation from those elements that would like to return us to darker days," Avner Shalev, chairman of Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and Museum, said from Jerusalem.

QUOTE

They have taken a small part of the souls of the victims' families, the survivors, and of people of goodwill who understand the connections of history and present, and of memory and loss.

The sign has become an icon of the Nazi attempt to wipe out the Jewish race.

It was part of a calculated deceit at the camp. Its German overseers maintained the lie to the end that people were being brought to a labour camp.

It helped them minimise the risk of panic among their victims.

The sign is an important piece of evidence of the cynical methods of the Nazis' attempt at genocide.

According to Mr Shalev, the theft could be part of a growing trend in attacking the memory and record of the Holocaust.

Hole cut in barbed wire fence at Auschwitz

Hole in the fence at Auschwitz following theft of sign

He appealed for international help in combating such developments.

"I call on all enlightened forces in the world - who fight against anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia and the hatred of the other, to join together to combat these trends," he said.

Despite difficulties with funding and preservation, Auschwitz is visited by more than a million people each year.

The Holocaust was one of the most documented events in human history, thanks to the Nazis' meticulous attention to recording every detail, but Holocaust denial continues.

Source

QUOTE

TOKYO — Singer Namie Amuro’s new album “PAST FUTURE” went on sale Wednesday and the music video for one of the songs – Defend Love – sees her suit up in pink gear to battle with Amuro Ray, hero of the first Gundam animation series Mobile Suit Gundam, which aired in 1979-80.

Amuro, 32, said that she has loved the Gundam series since elementary school when she learned she had the same name as Amuro Ray. The series celebrated its 30th anniversary this year and producers Sunrise Incorporated erected an 18-meter-high figure in Odaiba in summer, with over 4 million people stopping by to check it out.

Amuro and Sunrise agreed to collaborate at around the same time, and she is the first living person to make an appearance in the series. Production took two months, and the theme of the song and video is world peace.

[addedon]December 17, 2009, 12:25 am[/addedon]SOS
