Sapphire HD 4850X2 First Look & Tested

VR-Zone checked out the new Sapphire HD 4850X2 card and done some quick tests on it using the Core i7 / X58 platform. The cooler casing looks pretty nice and heatsinks beneath looks much like the Intel reference cooler. The air is drawn in by the dual fans and exhaust out from the top of the card (there is a hole at the top side of the cooler). This card is clocked at 625MHz for the core, 1000MHz for the memories and has 800x2 stream processors.

comes with 2GB DDR3 / 1GB DDR3 for each core

Price : Unknown

Review

3D Marks Vantage Performance

3D Marks Vantage EXTREME

Crysis Warhead 1600 X 1200 ( Enthusiast settings )

FarCry 2 1600 X 1200 ( Ultra High settings )

Source: http://www.vr-zone.com/articles/sapphire-h...ested/6157.html

Foxconn Quantum Force 'Blood Rage' X58

Foxconn is preparing a flagship X58 board from the Quantum Force series known as "Blood Rage" apart from Renaissance X58 board shown a few months ago. The specs looks pretty impressive with the ability to support Quad Crossfire and 3-way SLI + PhysX with four PCIe 2.0 slots, 3 channel DDR3 memory up to 1800MHz (oc), 14 phase hybrid PWM and DirectFET MOSFET technology, 4in1 Quantum cooler that provides modular NB/SB/VRM cooling solution with interchangeable NB chooling adaptors for air/water or extreme cooling. There is also a QF Panel for on-the-fly overclocking from the 5.25" drive bay and a Quantum BIOS with all the OC options. The audio aspect seems pretty neat with SONAR X-Fi sound card comes bundled. There is also a Serial Attached SCCI interface too. We can't wait to get our hands on this board!

from: http://www.vr-zone.com/articles/Foxconn_Qu...eview/6126.html

Acer Ultimate Gaming PC Unleashed !

ACER GAMING PC A.K.A >>PREDATOR<<

It appears that Acer has decided to pick up the glove and enter the gaming PC market with its brand new Predator gaming PC line. Firt out is the G7700, but we'd expect more models to follow considering that even the basic model isn't going to come cheap.

The case has a very distinct design and it comes in orange and black, which is an unusual combination for a PC case, although it doesn't look too bad on the pictures. The front door folds up onto the top of the case and reveals two 5.25in drives and a front mounted card reader and there's a pop-up module at the top of the case that houses the front mounted connectors.

The system specifications are quite interesting and we're wondering about some of the choices Acer has made. First of all, the motherboard uses the Nvidia 780i chipset and we have a feeling that Acer might've managed to snap up a few motherboards based on it fairly cheap. There's support for a wide range of Intel dual and quad core processors with bus speeds of up to 1,333MHz, but Acer hasn't provided any specific details.

Acer will offer up to 8GB of DDR2 800 or 1,066MHz memory and up to 4TB of storage fitted to front accessible hot-swapable drive cages (under supported RAID modes). Options such as a Blu-ray drive, TV-tuner card and even an X-Fi Platinum is part of the spec.

On the graphics card side of things it appears that even the most basic system will ship with a pair of 8800GT card in SLI, with higher-end models coming with two or three 9800GTX cards in SLI. Other optional accessories inclused the Logitech G11 gaming keyboard and the G5 gaming mouse alongside various Acer displays, speakers and a remote control.

Launch date = Unknown
Price = Unknown
From : http://www.acer.com/predator/

Pics

Recently Asus has developed an whole new Ati card which is called the Trinity HD3850 X3

Sooner than expected, we've been served some more information about the prototype triple-core card from ASUS. Radeon HD 3850 Trinity will sport three RV670 cores, all on separate MXM modules. Last we reported we did not know the exact specifications of the card, but those have been unveiled today. The core clock is 668MHz and each core has 512MB GDDR3 memory running at 1656MHz, that's a total of 1536MB (and 960 unified shaders if you want to get technical).
Only uses one 8-pin power connector

graphic card overclocked to 769/1053MHz

test bed
Intel QX9770 3.2Ghz ( overclocked to 4.607Ghz)
Asus X48 Rampage Forumula motherboard
Corsair Dominator DDR3 ram speed unknown
rest unknown

The system

card itself cooled by watercooling system . front showing one GPU

Back showing rest of the 2 GPUs

Becnhmarks
3Dmarks 2003 achieving 94k +

3Dmakrs 2006 achieving 24909 marks

RRP: unkown
launch date: unknown

from = http://www.nordichardware.com/news,7559.html

Intel's Latest and Most advanced Gaming machine~

HardOCP appears to be the first website with a full-on review of Intel's Skulltrail platform and although it performs well, it's not the solution we've all been waiting for that will improve three and four card graphics card performance.

The bottom line is that unless you're running applications that can take advantage of the eight CPU cores, you needn't apply this time as there are barely any games that takes advantage of the extra CPU power. However, if you're a big fan of Microsofts Flight Simulator X and have very deep pockets, then this might be what you've been waiting for.

There's a small performance improvement in Crysis and Lost Planet, but the rest of the game benchmarks shows little to no performance increase and some games are even slower than a system with an Nvidia 780i motherboard and a single Core 2 Extreme QX9770 compared to the pair of QX9775 CPU's used with the Skulltrail board.

SLI and Crossfire Support

If nothing else comes of the D5400XS it will make for an interesting footnote in computer technology and gaming history as the first motherboard to officially support Crossfire and SLI technology. I didn’t have any cards on hand to verify ATI’s Crossfire technology support but I did use some NVIDIA 8800GTX’s to verify SLI compatibility and quite frankly we were not worried about ATI locking us out of its driver the way NVIDIA does. Traditional SLI did work but 3-Way SLI would not. Just prior to publishing this article NVIDIA informed us that the Skulltrail motherboard used two NVIDIA nForce 100 MCP’s and that these MCPs enable 2-Way SLI support allowing for quad-SLI between two dual-GPU cards. According to NVIDIA it is impossible for the D5400XS motherboard to ever support 3-Way SLI via a driver update or BIOS update. The good news is that Crossfire-X should work just as well on this board as it would on any other Intel chipset based board.

source from http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA== for more INFO~~

Test Systems

The following system configurations were used for the Sandra memory benchmark graph, as well as all graphs listed under the Synthetic and Gaming Benchmarks sections:

CPU(s): 2x Intel Extreme Edition QX9775 LGA771 CPUs @3.2GHz.

Motherboard: Intel D5400XS “Skulltrail” BIOS version 780

Memory: 2x2GB Micron DDR2 800MHz PC2-6400 FB-DIMMs

Video Card(s): 2x EVGA 8800GTX’s (Reference clock speeds.)

Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling 1kw SR

Hard Drive(s): 2x 40GB Samsung SATA II/300 hard drives in RAID 0 (16k stripe size.)

Monitor: Dell 3007WFP 30” LCD

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Edition

---------------------------------------------------------------

CPU: Intel Extreme Edition QX9770 LGA775 CPU @3.2GHz

Motherboard: EVGA 780i SLI (132-CK-NF78-A1)

Memory: 2x1GB Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 DDR2 DIMMs @1066MHz

Video Card(s): 2x EVGA 8800GTX’s (Reference clock speeds.)

Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling 1kw SR

Hard Drive(s): 2x 40GB Samsung SATA II/300 hard drives in RAID 0 (16k stripe size.)

Monitor: Dell 3007WFP 30” LCD

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Edition

Mobo layout..

Processor QX9770 3.2Ghz X 2

Benchmarks Skulltrail mobo vs Nvidia 780i Mobo

Power Watts comsumption

Estimated price >>>PRICELESS<<< maybe RM20k

MOBO in the casing at bottom page thx using Cooler Master Stacker 830 and 3Dmarks 06 !!!
