Hybrid vs EV Car

Hi all

As fuel subsidies will be removed soon, there is tendency people will switch to non-petrol car... as EV car and infrastructure started a year plus and take years to mature ... what's your thought on hybrid cars like Honda, Toyota? Will you see a jump on sales on hybrid cars during this transition ?

Hi, I need to ask about WeChatPay AliPay on Chinese TV apps subscription

I have successfully registered my bankcard in WeChatPay and AliPay. When i scan a QR code given by China TV apps , I can't use the bankcard i registered and need a china local bank card , is that so?

Anyone experience the same problem with other China Online apps payment? How to make the online transaction with WeChatPay and AliPay?

Recommended external DVD drive for iMac Superdrive

hi, need advise from fellow apple experts.

My iMac (early 2008) superdrive (model Optiarc AD-5630a) giving problem especially in writing/burning DVD, reading is still alright most of the time.

Please recommend suitable or equivalent external DVD/CD drive for the replacement.

I have used up all three USB slot (one for keyboard, two for external HDD), any firewire type of DVD/CD drive available?

Lately, i find iPad home button not sensitive and does not respond well when press it.

Tapping home button twice does not show up the background apps. It's intermittent, do you have similar problem or how to fix it?

How to cure dry eyes

Since early this year, when I wake up in the morning, it's painful and uncomfortable (like sands stuck in above eye lids) when open my eyes. It happens sometimes left eye, sometimes right or both eyes. However, the pain will go after an hour plus.

I have started using artificial tear drop since 1 month plus, it does not help to cure the dry eyes.

Is there any permanent solution on dry eyes? If you have the similar experience, please share.

Adobe is fighting Apple's blockade of Flash technology on iOS devices with an experimental software called Wallaby that can convert Flash files into HTML5. Wallaby, a cross-platform AIR app demoed in October, is now available to download on Adobe's Labs pages, as a technology preview for PC and Mac developers.

Wallaby enables Flash developers to recycle Flash content (such as advertisements) for use on Apple devices like iPhones and iPads, which are known for not supporting Flash technology. It's been more than a year since Apple CEO Steve Jobs shared his "Thoughts on Flash," claiming Flash is an obsolete technology and a resource and battery hog for mobile devices.

Wallaby allows you to drag and drop a Flash .fla file in. The software then outputs HTML-friendly files that can be edited in Dreamweaver. The app can't handle more than simple animations and transitions at the moment. Wallby works best with output in Apple's Safari and Google's Chrome browsers, both based on Webkit. Adobe said it was testing other browsers as well.

The experimental software can support Flash Professional features such as vector art and images, classic text, keyframes, MovieClips and graphics, classic, motion, and shape tweens; rollover buttons, and instance names. Wallaby can't yet port ActionScript instructions or filters and blend modes, Adobe said. Same goes for video and audio, which have their own HTML 5 tags that can be called separately.

What Wallaby would be useful for initially is advertising. Designers could convert simple banner and animations and export an HTML 5 version of them, too. Your iPad or iPhone won't be Flash-free for long, one way or another.

CD eject problem on iMac

My iMac's CD drive during read/write keep giving humming noise since few months ago. Today, worse still, the CD almost get stuck, after many attempts, only the CD came out (drop on my computer table)

May I know what's wrong or if there is any DIY method to rectify the above problem? CD drive failure?

I have searched some tips to rectify as the following link, but it does not work for my iMac's CD drive.

iMac - hissing sound from CD compartment

When I insert Audio CD into my iMac, some CDs giving me high pitching hissing sound 'Squeak, Squeek', but the sound gone when start ripping or playing.

I have tried to use cleaning disc, but the result is the same. May I know what's wrong? Sometimes, when I insert new blank CD, it will give me this strange sound.
