[HELP] iMac memory hogging problem

Hi All,

Recently i just bought a new imac. everything is absolutely great except for 1 thing.. IT HOGS MEMORY.. slowly but surely the memory will habis even though i only open a few apps like safari and transmission. i dont open the mail app though.

When i have photoshop, premiere and after effects opened at the same time, it tends to lag(and i heard that mac dont do lags ). Previously with my windows workstation that has lower specs than my mac, it only takes up to about 60% of ram usage with the three open and no lag at all.

and i noticed that for a mac, the ram usage wont go down after i closed all software, i have to continuously hit the 'free memory' application.

here's my mac specs:

27-inch: 2.7GHz

* 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
* 2560 x 1440 resolution
* 4GB (two 2GB) memory
* 1TB hard drive1
* AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB

Mac OS X, i think

Anyone here has a solution to the memory hogging problem?

hello all,
recently i got to work at an IT company doing web streaming, and my boss ask me to prepare a proposal to buy a laptop for my daily usage.
i am a designer n editor in the company so most of the time i use photoshop and premiere for my editing purposes. i never own a laptop before cos i do my work entirely on my own pc all this while, so i have zero knowledge on buying a laptop so i need u sifus to advice me on this.

i am hoping to get a laptop that will cater to my heavy work for a budget around rm3000 only.

what brand of laptop do u guys suggest me to get?

hello everyone,
wanna ask, LG ks-20 can be installed with Garmin or not?
where can i go to get it installed?

and also can phone memory be upgraded?
now running windows mobile 6.. program memory is 81mb total..
on average running with spb mobile 3.0 is 59mb.. which is quite alot and jamms the phone sumtimes.
possible to upgrade?

[help] Messenger Problem

dear friends of LYN.

i have this one irritating problem with Windows Live Messenger.
everytime i sign in, evrything goes well until this error comes out..

then, i have no choice but to close WLM.
try to sign in again, and the same problem occurs again.
over n over again.

i already tried re-installing everything.
and the problem goes away for a few days, then the next day when i try to sign in.. there it is.. again!

i dont think it's a virus, cos i just formatted my pc few days ago.
im using windows xp sp2 now, and the problem is still there.
previously i was using windows vista, also got.

anyone experiencing the same problem i am?

[SOLVED] cant show hidden files

dear friends of LYN,
now im having this problem with my pc,
i cant seem to show my hidden files.
i just noticed this problem today, and also noticed a few crashes in other softwares such as windows Live and my bittorent.

and i just discovered that in every partition of my hd [C: D: E:] got this suspicious folder named 'autorun.inf'. dunno where this came from.

im using windows xp sp2.

could this be virus?

[HELP] taskbar hang at startup

dear friends of LYN,

i am currently facing this problem with my Acer Aspire 5572 laptop, during Windows xp startup when entering desktop, everything loads normally except for the taskbar.
the taskbar is there but when i rollover my mouse on it, it shows an hourglass.

so then i decided to reformat my lappy and the problem went away temporarily,
but the problem occured again when i installed a few programs such as .Net Framework and Acer Empowering Manager, that requires a restart.

i am now assuming that the programs are corrupted, thus hang at startup. is this true?
so how do i fix this, since i cant get into windows properly?

SOLVED - Network Problem

hello LYN friends,
i have this problem with my lil bro's pc, where the Network Connected item shows that its 'Connected',
but when i try to sign in messenger or open firefox, it wont load, as if theres no internet connection at all.
my pc internet all ok no problem, only my bro's pc cannot connect.
This never happened before, until today.

we're using router that connects 2 pcs at home. and im sure its not the router problem as it is working 100%.
tried re-installing the driver, but still the same.
no ip has been changed. before this also set to Auto and can connect no prob.
i checked the lan cable connector, it has yellow light, means that it can detect the router and pc just fine.

anyone can pin point out what did i missed? and any suggestions would be great.

currently im running my vista on 4gb 800mhz rams.. but vista only counts it as 3.5gb, so wasted 0.5gb ..
most of my friends said that its better to use 2gb 1066mhz rams..

so which is better?
- 4gb 800mhz.. or
- 2gb 1066mhz

hello all..

need some advice and solutions here..

my multiplier seems to be jumping from 'x6' to 'x8' and bak to 'x6'.. and to 'x8' again.. hence, my core speed tends to slow down at times..

tried tweaking my Bios settings.. but still same problem..

anyone?
