Thermal Sensor Crippled? How do I know?

Hi.. juz a lil help here, I've got a ASUS P5K-SE MOBO and my rig was assembled not so long ago (around 4 months), my is system running perfectly and I have 4 casing fans installed (2x12cm for intake, 2x8cm for exhaust) , the average MOBO Temp is around 40-41 mark and CPU Temp is around 26 when idle and reaches MAX of 38-40 under load (im still using stock cooler)... How do I know my readings are correct? and there's no problem with my Thermal Sensors in the MOBO?

If anybody have any experience.. can also let me know whether this is the normal temp for this type of rig with following spec

C2D E6550 (OC) @ 3.29 (FSB 470x7 : Vcore 1.34)
ASUS P5K-SE
1GB DDR2 800
