I need some advice pls about PDA

Hey guys, if u were to buy a second hand PDA phone what aspect will u look at 1st? Like any defect? Sensitivity of the touch screen? How smooth the program execute, run and close? Checking all the feature that the phone have and stuff? Scratches? Dead pixel? I'm really noob in this sorry. Any GURU pls enlighten me about this matter.

Here is the situation, my friend know that I'm looking for a PDA phone for a very long time but I still cant decide which 1 to get and also financial constrain. Well yesterday he try to sell me this iPAQ 6828 for RM 750. I know is cheap. But the catch is that we dont know the age of the PDA phone. Another problem is I'm only getting the UNIT itself with the stylus and also A USB Charger. He told me he got this phone from his friend working in a handphone shop. The only thing he know is that the UNIT is ORI but dont know about the parts and all. He say the battery is not ori.

He was rushing and pushing the unit to me as I really cant decide because he is giving me the UNIT and the charger only. So I become suspicious that it might be a stolen unit and trying to get rid of it. I dont really mind as long it is ORI and problem free. I know is not the right thing, but suddenly the offer and also financial constrain. So I took the PDA phone and play with it for half an hour. I notice that whenever u close a program, it doesn't really instantly close and not really really smooth either. Is like a very very short lag. Hmm maybe 0.3-0.5sec? Scratches is minor but the casing can be change right? No screen protector and is filled with finger print.

So now my question is, if I were to inspect the PDA phone what should I test? WiFi? The features and stuff? From the problem I encounter, can it be fix through like installing a new firmware or whatever? Or should I just go ahead with this bargain and service this PDA phone later at lowyat and everything will be problem free? Pls help me with this thank you~
