iPhone 4 - 'No Service' Problem

Hi All,

I'm using Maxis iPhone 4 with DiGi line for 6 months now. Since CNY, I was back hometown and the area I was in had pretty lousy DiGi services/line. So many times, the phone goes into 'No Service' mode.

But when I am back in an area/zone with DiGi services, it was not able to reconnect my telco. When I switch to Aeroplane mode and switch back, the bar goes full but with missing DiGi telco word beside the bars. I can't make and receive any calls. This can only be fixed by rebooting the phone.

So I search the web and some say is the Simcard problem. I went to DiGi to get a replacement yesterday and today, it's still the same. Anyone has any idea what is the problem? Is it the hardware?

Please help, thank you first.

Can my Maxis iPhone 4 set work in Japan?

I have no problem in countries like US, Brazil, Qatar, Taiwan bla bla bla with my old iPhone 3G. But when I went to Japan last year, I cannot get any service at all. The same on my colleague's iPhone 3GS!

This is pretty dissapointing and frustated. Now that I have iPhone 4, will it work in Japan? I did some research over the web, some say yes (DoCoMo supports GSM?) and some say No. I am confuised. Do I need a CDMA version to have service in Japan?

Thanks for the answers.

Charging iPhone - PC USB vs. Charger etc

I know charger has tickle-charge to fully charge it. Will charging using PC USB port shorten the lifespan of the battery? I am charging my fone daily as I am at work thru my notebook, worry this will have impact to the lifespan of the bettery.

Apple webpage says the internal battery can still retain 80% efficiency after 1000 cycle of charges.
