Driving into Thailand with own vehicle.

Do we need physical road tax to be labeled or bring along when passing the border custom? I heard some says the border custom will want to disturb if no physical road tax.
I have MyJPJ app ready to show my vehicle road tax in my phone.

UPDATE - 2 Sep 2023
I went to UTC JPJ office yesterday, and without going to their counter, just head over to JPJ Kiosk and got the road tax printed without cost.
Vehicle is under my name so all I did was just insert my IC, do the thumbprint, punch in vehicle number, select road tax and printing.

Pulling off from private vehicle selling

Let's say I am selling my own private vehicle and one buyer paid deposit to me with the agreed price. Due to personal reason, I want to keep this car again from selling and willingly to refund full deposit amount to buyer.

Will this brings any issue to me afterward? Legally, I am the owner of the vehicle on paper still.

Mixing Vaccine Dose

My mother is over 60 years old and she is fully vaccinated with Sinovac (2 doses).

Myself also fully vaccinated with Sinovac (2 doses).

Dilemma at the moment whether to take 3rd dose where it will be a different brand of vaccine, we don't mind 3rd dose Sinovac but looks like our Government is pushing for AZ?

Issue with Download Speed

Just wondering if anyone facing the same issue as me.

It has been for couple months that the launcher only run at 1MB/s download speed, and the game data download speed is capped at 2MB/s.

Used to be able to download at full speed.

Polis Saman with Wrong Vehicle

Want to ask if I check in MyEG and found there is a polis speeding saman based on my vehicle plate number, but that vehicle is not mine, how to settle?

The scenario where my vehicle is Model A, but the number plate captured is the same number plate as mine but it is a Vehicle B.

Possible that the number plate on Vehicle B has a number fell off so the saman is issued to my name.

What can I do?

Changing Vehicle Color

Hello Folks,

I am changing two vehicle colors in the coming weeks, may I know the latest process whether do we need to do anything as in heading into JPJ and insurance office to update/declare?

I have two vehicles at the moment, one with old certificate and another one with new certificate. The new certificate does not indicate vehicle color while the old one does.

Purchasing A Recond Vehicle

Hello All,

I just would like to drop down few doubts that having in my mind about purchasing a recond vehicle from vehicle dealer/importer.

1. Usually the price stated in Mudah.my, Carlist.my, Oto.my, they are all negotiable I believe?

2. Is there any hidden cost behind the price the seller stated on the selling page?

3. What are the other items I need to be aware of when purchasing a recond vehicle? Other than performing visual check on the vehicle body, undercarriage and etc with a technical person.

4. I have seen some talk about local AP or Sarawak AP, what is AP and any difference in between "local" and "Sarawak"?

You may add more input just in case I have missed out some important points that to be kept in mind. This would be my first time purchasing a recond vehicle in Malaysia, it would be Toyota 86, high compression ratio engine, NA, compact sport car for daily driving.

TM Connection Toward Steam/Valve Servers

I hope I post in the right section. This issue has been almost 2 weeks, Steam server just located in Singapore but it seems our connectivity been routed from Malaysia to Hong Kong then to Singapore?

Usually I got 40ms to 55ms but nowadays keep getting 80ms to 100ms.

Please find the attached photos below, is this so called "DSLAM" or "provider interchange box"?

One photo is taken from Google Street View. Google Street View took the photo in 2014 and this TM box was built in 2015, possible UniFi is going to be available in my area?

I sent couple of complaints to CFM and TM about UniFi availability, where we have been promised to have that service since Q4 2012, but no update until now.

I am suffering serious latency and packet loss issue now, anyone having the same?

Local servers -> Google.com.my, Lowyat.net -> 140ms with request time out
Singapore servers (Steam) -> 170ms with 30% packet loss

Restarting my router keep getting 203.xxx.153 and 203.xxx.214, all I know is IP 203 range are all craps.

Same Mistake from Maxis Happening in U Mobile?

Hello All,

Good day.

I am not sure if my case is similar to what Maxis subscribers facing recently. Let me summarize my issue with U Mobile in point forms at below.

- I started subscribing U Mobile in January 2013 with my iPhone 4S that bought from DiGi back in December 2011 with two years contract.
- The plan that I subscribing at U Mobile is U88 with 3GB internet data, hundred minutes of call and SMS.
- The coverage is excellent for me, at work or even at home.
- I decided to buy a device from U Mobile because of their offer so called "Loyalty Customer Program", Huawei Honor 6, at RM278 with 2 years U88 contract. That was back in February 2015.
- The moment I signed contract with them, there was no telco plan challenges in the market.
- In about July 2015, U Mobile released new postpaid plan, P70 cost RM70 with 7GB internet data, later with unlimited calls and SMS.
- They also sent me email to my Gmail mailbox, offered me to switch to P70 but no terms and condition stated.
- I went to the website given in the email, inserted my phone and IC number, the system showed me that I am eligible to upgrade/switch to P70. No terms and condition stated in that webpage as well.
- I did not click "Yes" to proceed, I chose to call them to confirm.
- I escalated to U Mobile through call center and service center located at Queensbay Mall Penang, they wanted to charge me for RM18xx penalty fee before I can switch to U Mobile P70 postpaid plan.
- I escalated to CFM, U Mobile came back to say and telling me the same thing. The webpage that they given to me earlier became not usable.
- I also let go the case until recently I found Maxis unfair service issue.

I see many Maxis user also tied to contract and they escalated about expensive service with low benefit. I am not sure if I am in the same position but a simply prepaid plan also better than my U88 plan.

U Mobile Unfair Practice

Hello All,

I'm not sure if anyone on the same boat with me. Let's go with the summary below for better understanding.

- I started to subscribe U Mobile U88 since January 2013 after my iPhone 4S contract ended with DiGi.
- I bought new device from U Mobile in February 2015 through their loyalty member offer program, had to tied with 2 years contract with U88 plan.
- 29 June 2015 U Mobile released plan upgrade for U28, P50 and P70 plans but no news for U58 and U88 loyalty customers.
- P70 subscribers are paying RM70 monthly bill and getting 7GB internet quota and U88 subscribers are paying RM88 monthly bill but getting 3GB internet quota.
- I have escalated this unfairness through U Mobile Facebook team and they did apologize, advised me that they will forward this to relevant department for review.

Until now I do not receive any update from them until 5 days ago I received their offer email from their promotion team. The email indicated my name and telling me that I am eligible to upgrade from my current U88 to P70 plan. I even clicked on the link provided in the email, proceed to insert my phone and IC number, the website also telling me that the plan I can upgrade is P70. The main fact was there is no terms and conditions indicated in the upgrade web page. Before I click the submit button, I head toward their service centre to confirm few details before I proceed. And guess what? The lady told me that I will have to pay RM1500++ in order to get that P70 plan.

At this point I would like to say is I'm not trying to terminate my subscription with U Mobile. It's just that I purchased device from them few months ago, and the upgrade promotion should apply to all plan subscribers instead of leaving high pay monthly bill customer behind. Even if I purchased the device in a very low price, if they were upgrading my current plan into 5GB internet quota, I would be happy as well but currently it's none.

So how and what do you think on this kind of case? Strictly no flaming please as I'm looking to hear public opinion about this. Existing U88 customers may drop your feedback as well.

Dealing with Noisy Neighbour

The noisy neighbour is living opposite my house. I have been living here since I was born until today and all of us here been suffering from his loud radio for more than 20 years. We submitted complaint toward MPPP before and there was action taken from MPPP, what they did I believe was only advise that uncle about turning down the radio. Yes that worked for few months and returned again.

Every weekday I woke up at 4:45AM, took my shower and did praying at around 5:15AM, I can already heard the radio started but with minimal volume. For me it is consider minimal volume maybe because of I am already get used to it. However when I pay more attention, on the street his radio volume is actually noticeable.

On weekend we tried to do monitoring, his radio volume will increase according to his "schedule". For example, 6AM will get louder by a percentage, then by 7AM another level, by 8AM is to the maximum level. That maximum level is extremely loud, peoples who came here for house renovation work or any other purposes will be surprised and they seem "enjoying it" during their work.

The only thing we notice is during his son visit, the radio will be turn off or completely turn down to normal volume we listening at home. One of his son moved out with his wife from the house many years ago.

The uncle is around 50-60 years old, staying with his wife. There was many times where the radio was playing in very bad frequency, for example 92.8 is Hitz.FM in our state and he leave it playing with 92.7 or 92.6 frequency, the noise was beyond bad level. We also saw he could went out with his motorcycle and leaving no one at home, but the radio still playing with that noise at high volume.

With the situation like the above, if you were me, what would you do? Is there any other way to take action other than reporting to MPPP? The neighbour next to that uncle tried to call police but police claimed they cannot do anything on this kind of case unless the radio still loud after late hour.

Increase FPS for Guild Wars 2

Hello,

I just tested with my company test unit laptop and it has Nvidia GT750M graphic card. What I realized was, if I run the game alone and in character select page, open options tab and it shows FPS ranging around 29fps to 35fps, usually stable at 32fps.

Jump back to Desktop and open Google Chrome, may leave it in Google website or so, go back to the game and the game FPS immediately jump to 55fps to 60fps, and stable down at 60fps.

Do anyone have any idea, or any clarification on this kind of "magic boost"? I remember 7-8 years back I played Taiwan MMORPG game, also got the same scenario where I launch IE and Firefox in background, the game become smoother.
