Network plans for my new home

Hi Sifus, what you think about my current network planning?

Some info and context:

1. Fiber port at TV console area, thought of moving under stair storeroom, cost about RM500-RM600 for relocating the fiber port.
2. 10G network doesn't seem to be value and worth it at the moment, 2.5G should be sufficient I guess although Asus GT-BE98 look sweet.
3. Ubiquiti with surveillance sounds like too much hassle.
4. Currently using Unifi 800Mbps.
5. Use for streaming and content creation.
6. Planning smart home as well.

Appreciate all sifus advices and comments.

Couldn't access encrypted USB drive

Hi guys, not sure is there similar problem before, I try searching but seems like none.

I have this encrypted sandisk extreme usb drive that I kept my documents.

The last time I access it was like last year, couldn't recall the actual date.

When I insert the drive, it prompt me to insert password as usual, when I insert the password, the window shakes, telling me I enter the wrong password I guess? But I pretty much 100% sure that's the correct password.

Weird thing is, there's not only 1 folder in the drive, when I try open the other non encrypted folder with finder, finder just show the spining loading icon forever.

If I open disk utility and plug in the drive, my disk utility will went unresponsive, showing the color spinning icon.

I tried accessing in windows with HFS, it shows both the encrypted and the non encrypted folder. I can't access the encrypted folder though.

Is it possible my drive is dead?

Hi guys,

Sorry if this question has been ask before. Search around couldn't find an answer.

I wanna connect 3 LCD TV to a single astro decoder, I would purchase an HDMI splitter am I correct? Does it degrade the video/audio quality?

Another thing is, if the LCD TV is 25 meter away from the decoder, the only way is to purchase a 25meter long HDMI cable?

Mostly I see is 20meter long, need to add HDMI repeater to connect 2 cables? Over 20meters the signal degrades is it?
