WD 1tb usb 3.0 ext hdd uber slow loading/transfer

Hi all,

I bought this WD 1TB USB 3.0 Ext hdd last year and now it loads very slow and transfer very slow out of a sudden. I did not drop it before. It is well taken care of. I have not even maxed out the hdd space as shown in the picture. However, when i plug the hdd into USB 2.0 or USB 3.0, it takes quite some time to be detected and whenever i access the folders, it is slow in terms displaying the number of items or the file contents. File transferring took me ages to complete. Below 1MB/s. I do not install any wd software that came with the hdd as they are very laggy.
The speed shown in the pictures is with the hdd is plugged into usb 3.0.

Laptop spec is as below:-
Win 7
i5-2430M @ 2.40 GHz
8gb ram
nvidia geforce GT540M 1GB

Should this be happening? any solution to this problem?

explorer.exe keeps crashing

Hi guys, i have tried the sfc /scannow method but it doesnt help.
whenever i open a folder, it gets restarted shortly after exploring.

Advice on laptop cpu fan

My laptop's cpu fan went dead few days ago. I can still turn it on but it gets overheated and shut down on its own. If replacement is necessary, Toshiba will charge me approx rm 200 (100 for servicing + 100 for parts replacement).

At the moment, my laptop can withstand the heat with the help of 2 fans. 1 is usb powered laptop cooler with the fan blowing air directly into the cpu fan. Another is 12v casing fan (but powered by 3.7V adapter) as the exhaust fan to promote airflow in proc area. Suprisingly, i can survive running dota for about half an hour. My laptop did not shut down due to overheating. However, i did not test the limit.

Should i spend rm200 or should i just spend about rm30 for 12v 2A adapter with another 12v fan?

I went to download a movie file of rapidshare link and then when i double clicked it, my computer shortcut is not working coz it will direct me to a site introducing their spyware. How to remove the virus?I couldnt locate it. I've tried using avg to scan for viruses but after i remove the viruses, it still doesnt help. Anyways, i've attached a hijackthis logfile.

ever since running some winrar keygen my pc gone crazy, sometimes when i start my pc the windows will have nothing on the desktop and i had to reboot to have the desktop icons back...and surfing half way using firefox...IE windows open and i had to hit the close button a few times then only it can close...
i have scanned with avg antivirus and had already remove the virus and scan with spybot s&d remove those spywares but it still keep coming back...scanned with ad-aware se also...sighs...

Firefox gone nuts

I was surfing with firefox (version 2.0.0.3) which i updated few days ago and then blackout. Ooops but nvm coz it happens quite often whenever there is thunder. I switched on my pc and wanan continue surfing but to my surprise, it hangs no matter what i choose.

Restore session or do not restore session also hang but with restoring session i can play around awhile but for like 30sec. I have tried uninstalling and re-install Firefox 2.0.0.0 but still the same and i have uninstall it and install with the latest version which is 2.0.0.3 but still the same fate. T.T

any idea whats wrong?
